It'd make a great opportunity for a great Leisure Suit Larry reference.  Maybe not a cameo, but a reference.

MediaFire allows people who want to upload things... legally.  The terms of service probably has ways of ensuring against anything illegal.

If only his last act in life involved the wood that was used in the X-Days plot.  Then Kim Jong-Il would not just die... but would "know the name of the king".  (Hey, Yahtzee, you reading this?)

Maybe he could be North Korea's "Prince" in that aspect too!  *evil grin*

Actually... *shudder* I can't imagine Kim Jong-Il as a nearly faceless pale skinned gothic prince.  If the way he tortured people in life was bad, I shudder to think what it'd be like as "The Prince".

Personally, I think "The Prince" from Yahtzee's Chzo Mythos (the X Days series) is the best AGS villain... even if it's Chzo the Pain Elemental who's pulling the strings, the presence of the pale, faceless(?) Prince sends shivers down ANYONE'S spines.

A blessed Christmas to everyone... and hopefully, an equally blessed 2012!

I am interested in this thread as well.

Mainly, the close combat system (I prefer the close combat style of QG3, where it looks like the monster is emerging from a weird void).

Granted, it will be a long time till I need it, but when I DO need it, I'll know where to find it.

Thank you, everyone, for the condolences.

Man, has Ad Avis cast a spell to screw with the forum or something?   ;D

Thank you.  Yeah, he passed peacefully.  At least he's in a better place.

Still, the road will be painful for a while--especially since he departed exactly a week from Thanksgiving (USA) Holiday, and we usually have a sort of family get together on that holiday.

My grandfather (my Dad's dad) passed away this morning.

Please keep my family in your thoughts and prayers for this trying time.

AGS Games in Production / Re: Metal Dead
Mon 26/09/2011 00:52:21
Hey, if this game is successful, you should make a sequel with a dhampir as the main protagonist, and full-fledged vampire as the main antagonist.  Kind of a modernized Castlevania in point-n-click adventure mode.

For my first game ("Exploring AGS World"), I completed the sprites of the main character, Donald.

Now, since I had to make the sprites by myself, I should warn you up front the animation is gonna be a bit wonky.

Next up (heaven willing) is work on the sprites of Donald's first friend, the ice-skater girl Christi.

I tried to search for any threads similar, but search is malfunctioning (again).

Anyway, on the topic of Verb Coins, though it was mainly used in Curse of Monkey Island, a form of it was used in Quest for Glory V: Dragon Fire.  Heck there were four "coins".  One coin was used for the character sheet (which included the rest/sleep part), another for the action/look, a third for inventory, and one that served as the compass to help you know where you were going (to an extent).

Am I perhaps the only one who noticed this?

I've finally completed my Let's Play of Quest for Glory (as Thief).

General Discussion / Rosenkreuzstilette
Wed 24/08/2011 18:31:48
I think it's high time I made more posts here, aside from asking help in making adventure games with AGS.

Anyone familiar with Rosenkreuzstilette, or RKS for short?

Now, I know some are looking at the title and thinking "WTF?"

Well, it's mainly a parody of Mega Man, with elements of Castlevania, Mario, and other platformers.  But at the same time, it's original (or at least as original as something like this gets!).

It's mainly in Japanese and German, but there's a patch that can translate it to English too--and not Engrish, but very well translated.

Anyone interested?

Well, I guess I can try to do my game by myself, but this post, I'm offering my services to others' projects.

I can help by proofreading stuff, and also helping others make their stories even cooler!

I may be new to the overall software, but I can sure help in other ways.

Any takers?  Send me a PM if I can help with your projects in proofreading and story adjustments!

 ::)Smart alecks...

Well, maybe in one possible idea for a game with "nudity", maybe the characters are censored "Austin Powers style".  (You know what I mean, right?)

I saw this thread, and it brought up something I wanted to mention...

Now, bear in mind, this is a "what if" scenario.

What if the whole Quest for Glory anthology (includining QG5) were all redone... in the style of anime?!

Yeah, kind of like the cartoony style of King's Quest VII or Torin's Passage, but in the style of a Japanese anime?

Hey, come on--I like the anime style, and I can be safe to say there is a small yet substantial number of AGS users who also like the anime/manga style.

It'd also be kind of interesting for voices too... maybe friends in Japan could offer to do the Japanese voices (and the text in the dialogue boxes could serve as make-shift "subtitling"), and some people could do the English voices (or whatever the native language in that region is).
