Looking good Theo!
Must be great working on a AG as your job! :)

Ipad works fine,  It is not pressure sensitive though(as far as I know, correct me if I'm wrong).
There are plenty of painting apps, I have only tried Sketchbook Pro.

But to be honest, I haven't had my Ipad2 for long so I haven't done a lot of painting on it, but I see a great use for it to be sketching and such when not by the computer which I could later bring back and finish off in the computer. It takes some time, as with all new things, to get the speed up since you need to adjust the opacity/brush size manually etc.

I have seen great work done on it though, some examples:

http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_NAE1gtgx78g/TKI4sHBqzBI/AAAAAAAAAzY/kF84fyUK8gw/s1600/iPad10.jpg
http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_NAE1gtgx78g/TIaBBrd_nII/AAAAAAAAAyI/Iputksoqd3w/s1600/iPad5.jpg

So I personally would recommend it for anyone who want's to always be able to paint but don't want to carry anything heavy(laptop) or messy(paint) around.

I think the correct term of what you're working on is 'curvilinear perspective', or at least that's what I have been taught.
So you could google it if you would like to find some online information, there is also already made perspective grids for it that you could use as a guide.

Since there is only two entries I will announce a winner:

Idea - Secret Fawful - I like this idea with Enchanted Forest Orchestra
Atmosphere - Secret Fawful - Great mood and atmosphere.
Design - oraxon - I feel the design is stronger in oraxons
Composition - oraxon - Great composition, full of rythm and repetition
Functionality - oraxon - Both seems practical in my eyes, I will say oraxon here since it has more walking space
Technique - oraxon - I feel oraxon took the piece to a clean and done state with the media he used. I would have almost wished a but more cleaning of the edges from Secret Fawfuls piece.

I will declare oraxon the winner fo this round. Thanks to both for participating!!

Any last entries? PM me if someone needs extension. If not, I'll start the voting tomorrow.

On topic(according to the thread title)
I think somewhere in here you asked for a RPG Engine that supported sideview battle system(among other things).

In case you didn't know, RPG maker has large communities with scripts that have been created for exactly that. And anything else like pixel-movement(read you didn't like to move one tile at the time).
And as you can re script much there is always the possibility to do it yourself.

I don't use RPG maker myself, but I did once and I know everything you mentioned is possible and already made.

Topic: Music
Make a scene that brings your mind to music. It can be a stage, music shop or even a fun composition with clear rhythms and movement.
As the topic is music I would suggest people to take the chance reading up on Rhythm in pictorial composition. I think that can inspire for some creative solutions to the topic, if not atleast you are aware of the principle.

Voting: October 14

Restriction: AGS compatible.

Good Luck people!

Ok, I suppose it's better to just start a new one.
So thanks guys! I will have another BG blitz up and running.

I'm starting to think that Creed have forgot about this, judging from his last forum visit.

Anyone who know/can contact him?

Kind of the same idea as Gameboy had:

The three bears had an uninvited guest.
#132
Ok, I didn't know that.. It seems today was the last day so he'll probably be home any day now.
I'll wait.

Hi guys, Creed hasn't been online for a while and he didn't answer my PM. Maybe he's gone for vacation.

Should we let the runner up create the next BG blitz?

Hi everyone!
We found our guy! Tino aka Knoodn will help us with taking this game to the next level.
You might have played his game 'Trevor Daison in outer space' or seen 'UNGA Needs MUMBA'?

Who knows, maybe we will be ready to actual show some gameplay soon. :)

Thanks for voting guys!

I counted and the winner is Creed Malay

Congratulation! And thanks to everyone who participated!

I think we can do better then this, people. :)

Ill keep the voting open a little longer..

I just want to elaborate as I had some questions about it:
This is not about solving a lot of complicated programing problems. We're mainly looking for someone with a artistic eye who know enough scripting to move the character around, play animations, script cut scenes in a good looking way. All the functions will already be provided by Ryan.

Things like:
Would the character move a little to the left, face the right direction.. Rub his chin. Would this dialogue line need a little pause after to make good comedic timing or natural pace.. Is this scene showing too long, would it feel better if we cut from it faster.

So if you have this artistic eye(like an director) and know how to _script_ in AGS with already created functions. Then you're our man/woman/boy/girl! :)

I hope that clears out any confusion, thanks!

Nice entries everyone! I'll keep the voting open for two days.

Here is the categories(copy and pasted from a previous comp):

Idea: Is it an original/creative interpretation of the theme?
Atmosphere: Is an interesting world created? - Does the scene evoke a feeling?
Design:  How well are the individual elements designed, from clouds to doorknobs?
Composition:  How well do the elements combine to create a pleasing whole, and lead the viewer to the points of interest?
Functionality: How well would it work as a background? Does it have clearly defined entries and walkable areas, as well as a good viewing angle? This also includes introductory shots of an area as long as a player character can be present in the scene.
Technique:How well is it rendered, within the chosen style? (in no way meaning the more elaborate, the better!)

Code: ags

Scripting
- We're looking for some to help out with scripting. You would mainly be responsible to get puzzles, cutscenes and interactions done in AGS as well as getting acting and dialogues imported. You will need to be comfortable with working with AGS and it's scripting language.

This is not about solving a lot of complicated programing problems. We're mainly looking for someone with a artistic eye who know enough scripting to move the character around, play animations, script cut scenes in a good looking way. All the functions will already be provided by Ryan.
