Thanks J.H.

I can't say I have read any tutorial or made any myself that would really help.
The best thing I could do would be to describe my process:
http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/yabb/index.php?topic=42073.msg559569#msg559569
But that still doesn't make the art, it's just one way of many to reach the end goal.

But there is a lot of great tutorials in the forums by many talented members, just learn as much as possible. :)

Thanks guys! :)

The current plan is to finish the pitch demo. We will evnutally try and pitch the game to publishers, and hopefully we will find someone who is interested.

Sorry guys for starting this a little late. But let the voting start, Ill keep it open for a day or so.

Idea: Was it an original/creative interpretation of the theme?
Atmosphere: Was an interesting world created? - Did the scene evoke a feeling?
Design: How well the individual elements are designed, from clouds to doorknobs.
Composition: How well the elements are combined to create a pleasing whole, and lead the viewer to the points of interest. This also includes the background's in-game functionality (hotspots, walkable areas, etc.)
Technique: How well it's rendered (within the chosen style!), in no way meaning the more elaborate the better.

If I remember right:
Go back to the first room where the game started in. Up on the right is the door, go out side and you will see the sign on the other side.

General Discussion / Re: Who has 5.1?
Fri 25/02/2011 08:21:10
I have 7.1!
About the only time I get to have any use of them though is with the sound-test where you have the helicopter moving around - so I make sure to do this at least trice a day!

Sorry for the confusion, the voting starts the 25th.
Great entries so far guys!

Maybe not useful, but this "trick" works on other games too. I first saw people mention it when I was playing Conan a couple of years ago and they looked for ways to get more FPS.

If I remember correctly(which I'm probably not) It has something to do with priority level and I think you would get the same effect by setting AGS to high in task manager.

Topic: High up
Description: A location placed somewhere high up in the sky/space or what ever is high up in the world you create. It can be inside or outside location, it can be a mega structure or a small cave etc.

Techincal Restriction: AGS compatible

Voting: starts 25th of January, unless someone wants extension.

Have fun!

Thanks guys! Grand Slam winner, that sounds fancy, who do I give my address to for all huge piles of uncountable amount of prize money to be sent? :)
I will have a new blitz up today or tomorrow, a little(very) short on time atm.

"The Johns Family soon realized that the house was getting too small for them, which left them no other choice then to move into the city.
What they did not realize was how it would later inspire other people. There we're a lot of crazy things from serving as out door 'nature calling resting place' to be used as a time machine by crazy inventors."

I never got to finish this up, so it's very rough in a some areas. But I'm overall happy with it.

Oh, so many opinions, I like it! :)

As for the new design, we the team landed on this one as it fits the characters personality much better. The old one was way too sarcastic and troublesomed(word?) looking. I feel confident in the new design. (I didn't do the design btw)

Btw, is these opinions directed towards Mikael(the red coat) or both?
Maybe we should throw this into the c&c forum? As so many seems to have an opinion about Mikael. :)

Nothing differs really, just wanted to be honest. This is why I didn't update the first post as we don't have everything ingame yet to produce a "screenshot" :)
The game resolution is 1024x786 though, so its a scrolling room.

(not ingame screenshot)

Yea, Something like this. Now imagine good music, funny dialogs and atmospheric effects on top of that. :)

I'm mainly posting to let people now that we're looking for one or two animators again, as our last one disappeared for unknown reasons. One hint was lack of time though. See first page under 'Help wanted'.

So if you're an awesome animator or know somebody who is, let us know! :)

Thanks!

What Dave said!
Lands of lore 1 and Eye of the beholder1-2 is, if not, among my favorite 'none-point & and click adventure' oldschool games.
#177
Thanks guys! You're all too kind. :)

@Studio3, It's to early to tell. But I don't see why there shouldn't be a demo.

QuoteYour speed bumps sound like entirely happy ones, so I believe you should now go back to making the game with doubled energy!
Not for me, I lost my whips! And before anyone gets any funny pictures, they're _mostly_ for motivating everyone to work. :)

There is a lot of new stuff done, it's just a mater of getting it in the game and working, hopefully we'll have an update soon for anyone interested. But I think I speak for the whole team when I say we're excited about this project and we all have every ambition to see it all the way.

It's always encouraging to see people interested!

We have a winner: Mordalles!

Thanks to all the participants and everyone who voted, as always it's great to see other artists work!

Take it away, Mordalles!

Why not vote Dualnames? I mean when you're already in here and everything :)
