Great improvement, now everyone see why you should use/get a tablet ;P

In photoshop I use HSB colors to pick, then you easily can pick warm and cool colors, but its just a mather of taste I guess.

I would though gank up the brightness some on the picture, unless you're going for night, then you have too mix blue in all the colors :>
But thats something you can play around with when its done.

Hehe, you really should get down and learn it, its worth it :>

Myself uses photoshop, but it work with any software where you can use pen-pressure, If you have a WACOM i know there should be some tutorial in the CD-ROM.. otherwise i explain fast: Press hard where the grass starts, and release the pressure the closer to the end of the grass you come.. nothing special or fancy, just experience some, and use like six different colors(could use more or less, but I like six colors)
the more grass and colors you use, the more realistic it will look, i guess.
GL HF, hope it helped some :>

I use a WACOm tablet. I usually just use the tablet when doing quick paintovers, just to show the principle of what im trying to do.. You could probably just pixel it if you got the time, but the tablet really makes it faster.

I would add some more shades and highlights to the grass. The desert(?) I dont know, I just overcolored your shades with a little warmer colors (yellow this time).

Heres a quick paintover, if you dont mind, mainly added more shades and highlight colors.
(didnt do all, just down left)

Imo, the chin is too big and the jaw-bone could be smoother or smaller.
A thinner neck would make her look more feminie.
I think smoothing out the cheek or lower it some would help too.

EDIT: I made a hasty paintover, hope you dont mind, with my suggestions.. Maybe its too anime.

EDIT2: Some pointer on the face anatomy, the ear should be more to the right.
In general you can say that the mouth should be on the 1/3(first third???) between the nose and chin (the 1/3 closer to the nose that is).

Now it shows, IMO I would go for a smaller "frame in"

What style are you going for? if its lucasarts you shouldnt add too much texture. If you want realistic you should add texture, easiest way to add grass is to add some green shades and work the straws with more or less vertical lines, if you got a tablet for your computer this win be a problem. If you dont have a tablet snudge could work, wind render or, ofcourse, you could just pixel it if you got the time.
Water, add horizontal reflections, most importand to make it look good is antialiasing i guess, check some references :>

saw that me and SteveMcCrea had about the same ideas..
If you told what mood you wanted it could be adjusted with the colors (warm and cold etc)

Hope this can inspire you some:

No, sorry.. It hit me after sometime I answered this that I should have told him to save it for bugtracking..

I can give you some hints though, when this happend to me I thought it just was my project, so I opened another project and tried the preview in that, it then said something like: The player is already opened.. Just like it was playing but didnt show up. Hope it helps.

I dunno if its a big problem, probably a mather of taste.. myself hate it and would love if there was an option to choose whetever to use it or not. :>

When I run my game in 640x400 resulotion (or higher) the mouse gets acceleration, for you who dont know what I mean its when: the cursor changes sensetivity depending in how fast you move your mouse, it accelerates.

I dont know if this only apply to 640x400 and up, but when I run it in 320x200 its not noticable, maybe its always there but hard to spot in 320x200 res.

No, I have no mouseaccel in windows etc, I used to play many fps so I know my mouse and its sensitivity :P

Thanks!

Had the same problem.. I fixed it by removing ags from the windows-register.
To do this:
1) Run 'regedit.exe'
2) delete: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adventure Game Studio

That should fix it.

Ahh, works now :>

I played around with the GUI one, ended up nicely.. Ill post after i got some sleep if anyone are intrested :>
thanks!

the problem with fadeout and fadein functions is that they are, imo, too fast. The fade only last for about 1sec.. I want a way to fade it slower.
#377
Hi!
I been searching around the board for any kind of fadein & out method, since i think the fadein() and fadeout() are way too fast for me.. I want a slow and smooth fade for ex. intro..

I found some topics but they were mainly about changing the fade-speed between rooms.. Im loking for some sort of function which you can call and doesnt affect all the room changes. Also, those i found had outdated code.

Thanks and looking forward to replies :>
