It's certainly not bad ...

I have a few concerns:

1) The bottoms of the bed carry off the screen ... so the only place for the player to walk is in between the beds?

2) The bottom of the mattresses don't appear to continue down past the foot board ... you can't see them where the slats are, and you should be able to.

3) The curtains seem to vanish into the window frame, it just looks a little odd.

4) Is there going to be a chair for the computer?  This would also cut down on the 'walkable' areas for the player.

5) The perspective seems a bit on the odd side ...

Other than those concerns I think you have a good start to a background here.  Shading and details are the key.

Good luck!

Man ... Provo Utah must be a rougher place than I would have thought ...

Why did your 'best friend' jump you?  Was he the one sleeping with your [ex]girlfriend?

You were you carrying a knife?  Why?

The gun you tried to use jammed when it had never jammed on you before.  Do you carry a gun with you?

What happened to the other guys who jumped you?  How did that confrontation end?

Did this confrontation happen back near the beginning of school or was it recently?

Did the guy you shanked live for a few months before dying?

I'm assuming you aren't in jail / on trial because you're a minor?

Were the police involved?

You really should give us some more details.  I'm not trying to be rude (at all!) but if you're going to post a topic like this on an internet message forum you really need to fill us in.

That, and if we keep you talking/typing you won't put that pistol back in your hand ...

Have you ever played a game called A Friend Indeed : The Adventures of JP & Cosmo

I make a joke ...

The style I used in my game is just like this (with a few minor differences!) so this game is right up my ally!

Keep it up and good luck with this one.

Good lord ...

Read the Forum Rules.

Don't double post.

Don't post two topics about the same thing.

I'm rather confused here ...

Is this an AGS game?  I see, in one of the screenies, the name Ego as the login name but the resolution of the images isn't an AGS resolution.

Are those in-game screenshots?  You play the game on an internet forum?

I have to say, the idea sounds intrigueing ... kind of like Tron, but with a different twist.  Can you provide a little more information about what's in the screenshots?

Wow!

Thanks guys 'n gals!  What a heart warming sentiment!

Here's one of the guys Farlander was talking about:

Anybody remember that?

I can't seem to locate the avatar Squinky was talking about ... I looked, but couldn't find it!

Thanks again for all the birthday greetings!

Another Darth ...

The graphics look pretty well done.  They seem better than some (most) of the 3D work I've seen for Adventure Games.

I might suggest, if you're going for a serious/lengthy type game.  That you might want to work on the story just a little bit more.   It's a tad cliche (to me).

Oh ... if you're looking for help on the game you should post in the ACR Thread.  More people are likely to see the request there!

Good luck with the game!

Quote from: DragonRose on Tue 15/02/2005 15:46:11I'm single, and have been for several years (no exageration). I spent a lot of yesterday dealing with people saying "Find anyone this year? No? Oh," and quickly changing the subject.
I was single for about 5 years before Sara and I got together.  I had about 2 million female friends who always said, "but you're the perfect guy ... any girl would be lucky to have you!"

You can only hear that shit so many times before you simply stop listening.

I don't usually care about Valentine's day at all.  I had nothing planned for it what-so-ever ... but yesterday when I got to my desk Sara had left a little card for me.  So I suprised her when she got home by cooking her dinner and left her a card with a rose ... nothing fancy, but just returned the favor.

Good shit man ... I was laughing out loud after reading that!

I used to hate Valentine's Day.  I never bitched out it ... just dreaded it internally.  I knew it was just another day when I wouldn't have somebody to brush my teeth with before bed *sigh*

Well I gotta go ... Sara is waiting to brush her teeth with me.

Well ... this doesn't belong here!

Also, read the sticky threads at the top of the different forum sections before posting something like this!  A lot of the time you'll find your answer(s) there!

Case in point:

Right @ the top of this section:
>> Post your suggestions for worthwhile servers to upload demos to here <<

Or some searching the General Discussion board for "free hosting" returns many results.

Good luck and welcome to the AGS forums!

I used to set my cellphone on top of my speakers in my room ...

When the phone would receive a call, just before it started ringing, my speakers would make sounds from Donkey Kong ... it was the darndest thing.

Say it isn't so Mr. Penguinx!!!

Fantastic work ... it would be neat to see some more 'non pixely' AGS games.

...He's an AGS missionary? I thought he was a jesus missionary.
Well ... I meant he was the Christian missionary of the AGS community ... not that he was an AGS missionary.

It made sense when I typed it ;)

But come to think of it ... Minimi, when you're spreading the good word out there, why not pimp AGS a little.  I think people (especially kids) could really benefit from it! :)

I didn't click through all the links ...

I would suggest taking a look at the second frame in your editing program (photshop, paint shop pro, gimp, etc.).   Were you working on the image of the object in a larger 'frame' than the final size of the object?  Maybe a stray pixel got left behind far to the left/right so the second frame of your animation is actually much wider than the first?

Meaning if the object is supposed to be 50x50 and you were working on it with a background of 320x240 and 1 tiny pixel all the way to the side got included ... the image you export might be 320x50 rather than 50x50.

It's happened to me before.

I'm a little confused here ...

Isn't this thread a year old?

Isn't minimi somwhere in South America spreading the good word?

The last post in this thread (asking the very same question) was almost 8 frickin' months ago.

Read the FORUM RULES before posting.

I'm going with the original ...

Now let me give my reasons:

- Arnold wasn't a big name yet
- Nobody knew who Michael Biehn or Linda Hamilton were
- James Cameron was coming off the success of Piranna II

... in short, it was a GREAT script with a lot of potential given to a group of nobodies who really wanted it to be good!  The movie wasn't being made to showcase big hollywood stars ... it was made to tell a great story, and that it did.

It was gritty and dark.  Michael Biehn so perfectly captured the role of Reese and really shined in the movie.  The police interrogation scenes, "That's what he does ... that's ALL he does!" were just awesome!

T2 was a great movie with GREAT special effects and was a good continuation of the story.  I liked the transformation of Sarah Connor into a 'machine' dedicated to stopping judgement day.  Edward Furlong was annoying as hell, but it didn't really take away from the movie.

T3 ... well ... it was just shit in my opinion.  It seemed to me like they just wanted to make another money maker and, as a result, screwed up the timeline.  I loved seeing the start of it all, the 'Rise of the Machines', but I wish it would have kept with the original timeline ... it would have made more sense to me.  I did like the ending, though I predicted it easily enough.

Truthfully I think my biggest gripe with T3 was that Cameron didn't direct ... and as a result it just didn't feel like a Terminator movie to me.  Nick Stahl did a good job with John Connor I felt.

A ban is a bit excessive!

Edward, there is a thread called ACR - need help with a game.  This is the proper place to post such a request! (as Ishmael informed)

Good luck with your endeavor!
