"A GUI label with '@OVERHOTSPOT@' as its text will change to the name of the hotspot under the mouse."

...

I never knew that.

I was interviewed by a guy yesterday who seemed to know a lot about me, but had a lot of difficulty articulating what he wanted to say.  He started off by asking me "So tell me about your normal games."  I was like "Normal games? What do you mean by normal?"

Obviously he was talking about RoTN, but it took awhile for me to figure that out.  ;D

This is actually a very common roadblock to run into on multiple playthroughs!  Did you:

Well...please, please slap me silly for asking this Dave, but do you plan to release an, ahem, walkthrough for Deception?  So many times I have thrown in the towel on great adventure games, and I am determined to finish this one the whole way through...cheats or not!!  Plus, I just don't like missing out on stuff that I could have tried to do, or trying new possibilities that might have given different results/endings.

Soooo...?  This may be the LAST thing on your mind right now as you're just getting the game released, but whenever you guys think of it (or if you already have it!) could you pretty please post it somewhere!  Or email it to sarahewarren@hotmail.com

Thanks for ANY help.  :)

Sarah

I rarely bother since someone usually rises to the challenge pretty quickly.  And lo and behold - Gamezebo to the rescue!

Looking forward to playing, but it looks like my pre-ordered dl has got lost in the mail somehow?

This has happened to a few other people as well.  If anyone hasn't gotten their download link, let me know - by email! - so I can forward it to BMT.  BMT is aware of the problem and they will immediately send you a download link.   Or you can do what Snarky did.  That works too. :)

Wadjet Eye Games presents:
Blackwell Deception
(Blackwell #4)

The story
Street psychics.  Their blinking neon signs are everywhere, promising love and wealth and happiness.  They make a fortune preying on the gullible and milking them dry.  So when these victims begin dying and leaving confused spirits behind, it can only take a genuine psychic (and her wayward spirit guide) to clean up the mess.

From seedy downtown nightclubs to penthouse apartments to a luxury yacht on the Hudson River, Rosa and Joey will unearth the truth about the underground world of street psychics.  Including some secrets that Joey would rather be left buried.

The game will be launching in a few hours.  In the meantime, the fanart contest results are HERE.

Last day to get your pre-orders in.  If you want to nab the DVD, now's the time to get it. :)

Apologies for the bumpage.  Just wanted to remind folks that the fanart contest ends tomorrow.  So if you have any entries, now is the time to send them. :)

That and I haven't a hope in hell of creating anything near as gorgeous as "Blackwell Nighthawks" (an homage to my favourite painting in the guise of a videogame? Yes please. I can die a happy man)
Thanks? :) Don't worry, the "Blackwell Nighthawks" didn't win anything anyway. ;) It wasn't even featured in the fanart section for, like, a year. Almost like my Gemini Rue fanart disappeared from it. Nice new design, though, Dave. ;) Yeah, I'm bitter. :D

Also, I'm going to do something even more awesome this time! I hope... Well, at least i'll try to... maybe?

GAH.  You're right!  They must not have been copied over when we revamped the website.  I do have the files, still. I'll re-add them.

Woohoo! Totally entered. The Blackwell games hold a special place in my heart. I'm pretty sure very nearly every game there is could be bettered by the addition of supernatural elements. ;)

Er... don't be confused if you happen to accidentally get the email twice. First I tried using my website email, because I was trying to see if I could get it to work (NOPE LOL THANX THUNDERBIRD), but apparently I can recieve but not send until I actually figure out what I am doing, sooo I just sent it from my gmail instead.

;D

Well, sorry to report that I haven't gotten anything.  Which email did you send it to?

You know, it's been waaay too long since we had a fanart contest.  With this game coming out soon, it seems like a grand time to have another one.

The rules are simple: draw, paint, or sketch any character from a Wadjet Eye game, which includes "The Shivah", the "Blackwell" series, "Puzzle Bots," "Gemini Rue" or "Emerald City Confidential."  Or even one of our old freeware games if you can remember back that far.

The top three winners will receive free DVD copies of the game.

The three runners up will receive free digital copies of the game.

Every other entry will receive a small consolation prize just for entering.

(If you have already pre-ordered the game and you win, you will be given a refund)

This contest starts NOW and ends on October 7th.  For examples of previous entries, you can check out the Wadjet Eye fan stuff section.

Remember that nobody will leave the contest empty-handed, so send your stuff our way!

I'd like to get some fresh beta testers to check out a new project we're publishing.  I can't tell you what it is yet, but I will say that it's a commercial sequel to a well-received freeware AGS game.  The game is 100% playable and we are starting testing now.  If anyone is interested, register on the Wadjet Eye Forum and PM me your username.  I'll give you access to the build.

Just wanted to let everyone know that this game is NOW AVAILABLE FOR PRE-ORDER!  There are two deals available.

One is a DVD set which contains the soundtrack, audio interviews, and ALL FOUR Blackwell games.

The other is a regular download.

Both pre-orders give you immediate access to the previous game in the series, The Blackwell Convergence.

You can find more info on the Official Site.  There, you can download a demo and check out a teaser trailer.
