A bit inspired by Grundislav, I decided to do my own "play my game and talk about it" series.  I chose Emerald City Confidential as the game to do, since I probably have the most to say about it.  I'm not able to do it live, but I've posted the first episode to YouTube.

Link Here!

In this episode, I talk about how hard it was for players to pick up a crowbar, why dialog windows are terrifying (to some), and the genesis of those quest gems.

Anyway, lemme know if you enjoy it.  I'll probably do more.

I like OSD games a lot however I want to stop making them. I want this to be the best OSD game I ever made :D.

But you haven't actually... made one yet?  Have you?  Gah.  Brain's about to commit brainsplosion.

My wife uses AGS daily!  But she doesn't post.

QuoteAnd Dart(y) is the chick I was thinking of who introduced me to Two of a Kind. Couldn't recall her screen name.

Aside from me, I think all of the ToaK crew have left the forums.  Darty, Y0ke, and BerserkerTails.  I don't think any of them post anymore.

Judging by the brightness of the plain white background, it must be daytime by now.

I think we're underground, aren't we?

Just received the very last animation from Ben today!  Importing it now.  This might actually get done.

The animation is of (spoiler warning) Rosa sitting down in a chair.  How's that for epic?

I ended up having to remove the vid (it got posted somewhere it shouldn't have), but thanks for the tips everyone!  You'll see an official announcement on September 14th.

Hi everyone!

This is my first attempt at making a proper, cinematic trailer for one of my games.  I've spent a few days futzing with it and I think I've got it to where I like it.  It's a bit rough in places (the voiceovers are a bit loud, for example) but I think it's a good start.  I'm looking to get some feedback before I futz with it further.

I've uploaded it to a dummy youtube account and marked it as "unlisted".  I'd appreciate it if you didn't discuss it outside of this forum thread. :)

Anyway, here it is:

Thanks in advance for any initial reactions you might have!

edit: Well, I suppose I brought it on myself.  The vid was leaked so I had to remove it.  Sorry!

Did you just set a release date for your release date?   :=

If it's good enough for Ubisoft, it's good enough for me. :)

Bit of an update.  The game is fully programmed, all the backgrounds and portraits are in.  99% of the animations are done, and most of the music has been composed.  Beta testers are in the midst of playing and replaying the game ad-naseum to find all the bugs, and I am dedicating this entire month to fixing them and adding voice acting.  All of Joey and Rosa are recorded and imported.  The rest of the cast is coming in to record over the next two weeks.

We'll be officially announcing the game, along with a release date and a trailer, on September 14th.

Stop and wonder how our trousers magically re-appeared when we spoke into the walkie-talkie...

GO back downstairs to the computer room door.  Maybe the man killed the monster before he died?  If so, take the dude's trousers!

I usually prefer working with local actors for major roles, but I sometimes use remote actors for bit parts.  If you have a decent mic and have a reel, send one my way.

Pushing to get on those services is part of the sales/distribution services that I'd be offering.  I've hired a distribution consultant who handles that very thing.  If you are asking if I'd let the developer sell and distribute the game on their own without the royalty split applying to both of us, then the answer would definitely be no.  Sorry.

Here's a trailer (with German voice acting).

In Germany, yes. :)

Well like I said, at this point the game has been so thoroughly tested we want to avoid making changes to the game itself.  We probably will just make our own. :)
#1060
Hm.  Since we've been testing the game ad nasuem with the current version of the engine, rebuilding a whole new version of the engine just for this one change isn't something we want to do.  It might be more worth it to create our own version of the winsetup.exe that the Germans can translate, if there's no other option.
