Thanks Vince & Alpha!

Oh, and incidentally.  Check out what's #1 on the PlayFirst top ten.
#1362
Heh.  Apparently the game's got a fansite already. :-D
#1363
Hah.  That's OK, Vince.  I didn't even realize they were going to release it at midnight!  Glad you and your daughter are enjoying it, even if it's confusing her. :)

It's out! It's oouuuutttt!!!

You can purchase it through the Wadjet Eye Games site HERE.

It's already garnered one positive review!

So, phew.  It's always a great feeling to get a new game out, and this is no exception.  Hope you all enjoy it.

John Green is the man.  And I'm not saying that because he draws a character that looks suspiciously like Rosa Blackwell.  He's a great artist and great fun to work with.  You all should hire him!

Wow! Amazing! how much hours/days you spent in one background???
They are beutifull!  :D

I didn't draw them.  I hire people to do that for me now. ;D

You might want to point out to PF that one of the intertitles says "The Emarald City Has Lost Its Luster..." They should probably try to get the name of the game spelled right.  Wink

Hah. Yes.  That was pointed out to them like 5 minutes after it was uploaded.  They'll have a new version up soon.

PF just released a trailer for the game RIGHT HERE.

Quote... will be the puzzles 'easier' because of the 'audience PlaysFirst is aiming for'?

Yes and no.  The puzzles are the usual kind you'd expect to find in an adventure game, but we've included a hint system which for those who have trouble with them.

Sorry to resurrect this thread, but it seemed more appropriate than starting a new one.  Anyway, as the new subject title sez - the game is now gold and will be out on February 19th!  You can see some preview scenes from the on my new vidcast, which you can find here.

Have I really been working on this game for over a year?  Yeeshus.

She could, but who would buy half a house?
#1372
Yeah, that's the problem InCreator.  They both own it on paper, and the deal to sell her half to him was made verbally.

QuoteHave you tried getting all of the paperwork ready to go and everything sorted? So then just take it around to the house and all he has to do is sign? I don't know much about the process but if you could do the legal/paper work for him and show up at his place, then he will have no choice but to sign (unless he is deliberately not doing it just to spite your fiancee)

Well, one issue is that he lives on the opposite end of the country from her, so it's not
easy for her to just head over there.  Plus he needs to call the bank to get the forms anyway (they need his account number, which she doesn't know), and he hasn't bothered to do that yet.

She could go to court, and she'd win, but she'd have virtually nothing by the end of it.

Hi everyone. My fiance and I have been having a bit of trouble with her old house, and we're not sure what to do.

Years ago, she was living with a guy and they bought a house in Stoke-on-Trent together. Eventually, they split up with the understanding that he'd buy her half of the house from her.

Two years later, he still hasn't done it. He has the money, but he says he just "can't be bothered" to fill in the paperwork. So basically he's living in a house that he only half paid for, while my fiance is out over ten thousand pounds.

She has consulted lawyers, but they told her there is not much she can do because her name is on the deed.

So, my question is this. Is there any way to FORCE him to buy her half of the house? What are her options? We've tried pleading with him, we've tried being patient, we've tried everything, but he just puts us off or says he'll "get to it soon" and never does.

Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!

By the way, you might want to announce this on the RON Forum

Holy crap.  I never thought this would ever get released!  I beta tested this years ago in... 2003?  Yikes.  Anyway, I loved it then.  I'm sure I'll love it even more now.  Congrats on finishing, bspeers!

It's funny.  When I tested my games without voiceovers, the testers got bored.  But when the voiceovers were IN the game, they tended to click through them.  Kind of a catch-22, in a way.

Thanks Peder!

Now that I'm practically done with Emerald City Confidential, I've had a LOT more time to work on Blackwell.  Here are examples of how all the new backgrounds, sprites, and portraits all work together:

Joey gets asked a difficult question.

Nishanthi is back, frequenting art galleries, and gossiping about Rosa.

Rosa attempts to develop a sense of humor, with flat results.

A job well done.

It hasn't been released, and there wasn't an ECC lecture anyway, so I'm afraid not. :)

Ian's been cranking these out like a man possessed.  Here are some ghosts from the game:

A ghost found in Central Park.

A spirit with a Mona Lisa smile, she is trapped in Limbo but seems content.  What does she want?

A familiar face from Blackwell Unbound.  Yep, she's back.

Short version: Yeah!  Long version: Hell yeah! I loved the first one bunches.  I remember reading that you were going to make the rest of the series commercial?  Is that still true?
