I never noticed this one either!  This would have been very useful back when we localized Gemini Rue!  Sooo many input text strings in that one.

:-\ Not meaning to be a spoil sport here but... is this total including or excluding all the $1.50 transaction fees, 'cause that would take quite a chunk off.

That includes all the fees!

Janet and I will be there, and I know Grundislav is coming.  Edmundo usually comes as well.  I'm not sure if any other AGSers are.

Every year I throw a Wadjet Eye party, so if you're going to be there you should definitely come!

Snarky: Yep, I can pretty much start right away, if only to get the ball rolling.  Assuming everyone wants me, of course.  ;D

We'll definitely need a subforum for engine stuff.  CJ is the only one with global mod status of this forum?  Does anyone know how to contact him?

Brriiinging this back on track.  ::)

The mystery is solved.  The Merge Games deal was done via Daedalic, who currently owns the European distribution rights to the game.  They've sub-licensed to other territories before (Poland and Russia) so I assume that was the case this time.  I only worried because they didn't tell me about it first.

So no worries, Captain.  No can of worms here.

Suck up.

I bet you want to give them both a big kiss don't you?

"Oh Joshua, I love all of your games so very much"

And then you'd lie on the bed and say:

"Sprite me like one of your french girls"

And then he'd impregnate you and it would all be a little awkward from then on.

Um, what?
#947
Yes.  Please PM me the source.  I'd appreciate it!
#948
Um. Hm.  This is the first I've heard of this! I'll have to look into it.

We talked about it internally and argued about it quite a bit, and in the end decided to do it this way.

And in case anyone is interested in seeing how well the bundle's doing so far, here are the stats after three days of being online:

Number of bundles sold: 695

Largest amount donated: $85

Average donation: $3.86

Number of donations $5 or below: 535 (77%)

Number of donations $20 or above: 22 (3%)

Total earned: $2683.46

(or wait six weeks and get it free)

Er, just so you know, that's not an option.  The games will NOT be going free.  We discussed this internally, and we decided it would be unfair to the people who paid money, as well as give us zero credibility the next time we do a bake sale.  So, no freebies.

BMT is unable to change the 20% VAT label, but they are able to move the two fields closer together so the discount is much more obvious.

If you have any other issues or problems let me know!
#952
Aha!  That makes sense. :)  And no worries, that's a very obvious thing to miss.  I'll see if they can fix it.
#953
It's still charging VAT? :o

I'll bug BMT again.  Obviously it's not something I can test myself.

Edit: I received a reply from BMT and they are just as mystified as I am.  Can you email me your order receipt that shows the VAT charge? (dave AT wadjeteyegames DOT com)?  Or email a screencap of it?
#954
I spoke to BMT and they removed the VAT.  They also fixed the Paypal issue that some folks reported.
#955
The VAT charge is a good point.  I'll see if I can remove it.

Hi everyone!  Since my last post on this thread, a number of you have emailed me or MSN'd me or PMed me asking me to reconsider.  So obviously you see something in me that I don't, or maybe I am just misunderstanding what the position entails.  While it's true that my livelihood is directly linked to AGS, I have zero technical knowledge about it at all.  I can program IN the engine, but I know absolutely zilch about what makes it tick.

That said, I do have lots of experience managing teams of people.  If I were to take a position like this, it would be more like an overseer than anything else.  Here's how I kinda see it working.

First off, there'd be a team of volunteers who work on the engine.  Maybe, say, ten people (to pick a random number).  Individually, they choose what bugs/features to work on and start working on them.  Obviously we'd need some kind of tracking system so we know who is working on what to prevent people from working on the same thing.

Once a volunteer finishes their job, the changes will be merged into a separate branch of the engine and tested by the team.  Once a number of changes have been made, we will release a beta build of that branch that the rest of the community can test.  Once it has been tested enough, we will make it the new "official" version of the engine.  This seems to be the way that CJ handled things (he'd add features to the engine until he felt it was significant, then release a beta candidate, which was tested ad nasuem until it was deemed release worthy), and it seems like the best way to move forward.

So my job, if anything, would be to keep an eye on the list of in-the-works changes/updates and make sure that they are being worked on.  If I have any kind of skill, it's staying on top of people until they finish something. :)  THAT I can definitely handle.  If that's the kind of person you need, and the kind of system you'd be happy with, than yes.  I'd be up for it.

Since my game inspired you to come back to the forum, I suppose the least I can do is say welcome back.  So welcome back. :)  And congrats on finding a better place in life.

So a few days late to announce this.  All the Blackwell games launched on Steam last friday!  You can even nab all four games at the stupid low price of $14.99 during the first week. Assuming you're into Steam!

Well, the revamped editions have already been made and released, so this topic is a bit moot now.  Thanks to those who replied!
