Messages - Digital Mosaic Games

#1
Hello everyone,

I'm still looking for an author for this adventure project.
However, there are a few changes I have made. The game won't be a board game but a solo RPG pen and paper gamebook. So it will play similar to gamebooks like "Four against Darkness" or the Fighting Fantasy gamebooks by Steve Jackson and Ian Livingstone. As well as fighting monsters and upgrading characters, you can also solve point and click puzzles. All you need to play is a few dice, a pencil, the game book itself, the printed room grid and the character sheet. Everything is analog and you draw the game board yourself as the player.
The genre is still "pulp horror/mystery" as in the "Tales from the Crypt" comics from the 50s.

Feel free to write me a message if you're interested. (tolgaocek@yahoo.de)

Hello everyone,

I decided to do a digital dungeon crawler board game with point and click puzzles as the main narrative tool. It's going to be a collection of interactive short stories in the style of supernatural mystery/horror anthology TV-series like "Beyond Belief: Fact or Fiction", "The Outer Limits", "The Twilight Zone" or "Tales from the Crypt". I've already written a concept document which I can share with you.
The visual style will be very similar to old horror-comics from the 60s. Here is some concept art:

Now I'm searching for a Co-author and puzzledesigner. Let me know if you're interested.
You can contact me via email (tolgaocek@yahoo.de) or Discord (Tolga#4957).

Hello everyone,

I wrote a rough script for a new horror/thriller adventuregame about Satanism, demons and Elisabeth Bathory.
It should combine fiction and history just like in the Gabriel Knight Trilogy.
The artstyle will be in a classic sierra-, retro-style.

Now I'm searching for a Co-writer/designer to help me flesh out my ideas, make some historical research, writing dialogs and come up with puzzle-ideas.
I can share my script with the current plot with you, if you're interested in a collaboration.

I'm the artist and director of the adventuregame "Metaphobia" which you can check out here:

A big thanks to everyone who voted for us for the AGS Awards!  :=

It's beautiful too see that this project is still alive! I just wanted to say that my name is "Öcek" not "Ocek". It would be nice if you could change that name in the credits. Thank you very much!  :)

I promise to leave a more articulated review but... those rotoscoped actions are awesome and so fluid!
How long did it take to film/pixel them? Titanic task!

We could film the actors in front of a greenscreen in 3 sessions. The pixel-work took me about almost 2 years.
I could get through this process because I'm a huge fan of rotoscoped animations like Prince of Persia 1, Sierra Games (especially Gabriel Knight 1), or clocktower.
My love for these graphics started actually with seeing Ben Jordan 1 deluxe as a teenager :D.

Saw this and played through it this morning. Nice work! Great to see other developers embrace rotoscoping, and I was extra impressed by the sheer amount of sub-pixel animation that went into it.
That means a lot to me. :) And thanks again for showing us Edwyn Tiong and his connection to voiceactors!

@Shadow1000:
It seems to have something to do with your PC settings, antivirus, a slow internet connection or something similar.

Hey guys,

We are using the sierra (transparent) speech style in AGS. In our dialogs when there are no more options to select
AGS run the "Exit" dialog automatically. Now whenever there are no more options to run and AGS run the "Exit" dialog
we can see the portrait disappear for a moment and then it appears again. Is there a way to avoid that short
disappearing of the portrait?

We are using AGS 3.4.1P4

Thank you!

Thank you very much for your help it was greatly appreciated!

Hi Khris, thank you very much for answering!
I tried the method (a) as you suggest and it is working fine. However how can I code the same thing regarding a button top right, down left and down right?
I mean these buttons...
#17
Hey guys,

I'd like to have a specific transparent area for a button which shouldn't be clickable(pink area)...

But at the moment I can only have a rectangle as clickable area for the button.

Is there a way to make the pink/transparent area not clickable?

Thanks!

The trailer looks amazing! Intriguing plot premise. I love the amount of work that went into the animations. It reminds me of Jordan Mechner's rotoscoping from the 90's. Looks really, really smooth!
Jordan Mechner is actually one of my all time game heroes! His original Prince of Persia is one of the few games I actually play. It influenced me a lot.
