Spoiler
Spend some time exploring Fornsigtuna at night to find out.

QuoteCan you even win the archery contest as a sorceress?
I helped myself with a spell, as indicated, but that wasn't enough.
Spoiler
Dont forget that wind is a factor.

Yeah, saving the Jarl is not required to complete the game.
#3
That's another known bug. The correct solution involves the mirror.

What you say to the thief doesn't really matter. The fact that you can't enter the guild now is a bug and will be fixed in v1.1. This is caused due to advancing the game too far without entering the guild first. You won't get the mirror back but it doesn't prevent you from finishing the game. If it bothers you too much, reload a saved game from before you entered Svartalfheim.

You can sleep at Eitri's house and at the mushroom cave, I think.

Thief:
Spoiler
The thief will not rob you twice. You need to get your stuff back, preferably before going to Svartalfheim. You wont be able to enter Regin's house until you have a good reason to. You'll need the library book puzzle spell to give you that reason. I don't remember if you have to level up your spell's skill level first.

Sounds like you're playing as the warrior, in which case you have other options available to you.

There is a way.

E: Also love random mid-eastern sequence in the town music. Was it intentional?

I'm glad you liked it! Do you mean the tune that plays on the pick your character, stats selection screen, and the Adventurer's Guild?  It has a Middle Eastern-sounding flourish starting at about the 50 second mark.  Honestly, I find it only vaguely Middle Eastern but, I liked how it sounded so I kept it in.  I suppose there's also the tune that plays when

They can't make it commercial seeing as how there are cameos from the Sierra classics, and some of the graphics are partially traced from copyrighted photographs :)

Anyway this might be my favorite AGS game of 2013 so far! I love the RPG aspects.

The game was always intended to be freeware just like all previous Crystal Shard titles.

Thank you all for the kind words!

Hey Crimson Wizard!  Great work on the engine so far!  Radiant told me that this may be the best place to reach you regarding this issue:

Music and SFX skip when transitioning screens
QuoteWhen transitioning from one background to another, music and sfx will skip. It appears that the longer it takes to transition (longer due to memory, not longer by design) the longer the music and sfx skip.

I hope that this is something that you can take a look at!  Thank you in advance!

To add, here's what I noticed with different ACI interpreter versions:

ACI version 3.3.0.1148: skips; stops skipping with threaded=1 in the acsetup.cfg file
ACI version 3.3.0.1146: skips (not sure why because I didn't have an acsetup.cfg file - will check with Radiant); when I copy the acsetup.cfg file that the below version uses, there is no more skipping (and there's no threaded entry)
ACI version 3.3.0.1144: doesn't skip and doesn't have the threaded=1 entry in the acsetup.cfg file

So, it appears that the skipping started with 1146 but, threaded=1 wasn't the fixing factor until 1148.

Engine Development / Re: Autodetect resolution
Tue 15/10/2013 06:09:39
I noticed that the current resolution picker for 3.3 is a bit bugged.

I have a 16:10 ratio monitor that natively runs at 1680:1050 resolution. The only two resolutions that the monitor/video card can run the game in full screen are 1600x1000 (5x) and 1280x800 (4x). Using the later makes the game look perfect at full screen but, it seems like the former should be a more appropriate resolution. However, the game appears squished (black area on top and bottom). When I check the resolution it says that I'm actually at 1600x1200 resolution, not 1600x1000.

If it's too late to add an auto-detect (or custom size) feature, can this be fixed?

Perfect, thanks!  I don't know how I could have missed this!  Anyway, I've completed the game!  Any plans for a follow up title?

Julie is the medic, the one walking around with a lab coat.

Also, who is Julie?

The girl whose speech portrait reads "Julie" :P

lol, I see. I thought her name was Angelique based on her database profile.

Does Karst have anything on him that could come in handy?

Well, he's got the tools but I've no clue as to what to do with them.  I figured that Florent is the best guy to use them but I feel like I've pixel hunted every screen by now.

Hints & Tips / Quasar: I got Karst, now what?
Tue 10/01/2012 06:09:14
Does anyone know what to do after getting Karst to cooperate?  I've walked around aimlessly but I fail to understand what I need to do next.

Also, who is Julie? Karst mentions her when looking at the mysterious device in the control room.  Probably a red herring but, you never know.

Hi Karens, thanks for the offer!  Great work on TSL!  Do you have any specific examples that you'd like to share?  Feel free to PM me, Radiant, and Corby if you like.  Also, I'm curious, what applications do you use for modeling, rendering, wrapping, textures, etc.?

I love this episode.  Although, it's shorter than part 2, it's packed with a lot of varied puzzles.  I think that you have struck a nice balance in length.  Hopefully, when the story is complete, you wouldn't mind combining the episodes together into one long game.

Also, which version of AGS did you use to create these?  I played all three parts in Ubuntu with no problems.
