Yay, CJ is going to be here in around fifteen minutes, Yickle (apparently dressed as Trilby) another fifteen after that \o/. Good news magintz, you couldn't blackmail I take it? :P

Yay, Brittens starts today ^_^, though Creed, scotch, and other guest have been here since yesterday, and myself the day before that.

Also, I'd like to mention how fun Magintz-hosted Iverittens (say it five times fast) was. Tier was in attendence as well. After extracting me from Heathrow terminal 3, we went to a pub in Magintz's village, then a Pizza Hut and cinema in Uxbridge to see that new movie about pirates. Here are some images from the unwinding process-

No no... I mean that you look a lot like the AGS member known as Disco... Kenneth...  :)

I suppose I ought to set this straight, over some banana pancakes!

Do I really look like DG/DG looks like me? Ah well, at least I know no one can attain my level of excitement, not since I was three! (not even with a Mr. T jigsaw) so you can't mistake the subject of this photo :P

That says "Kenny Bear" at the bottom-right side, my nickname when I was a young lad, and still is among certain relatives.

He is saying that it would be better to bring a tent if you have it, and he can't understand why you would want to pay 2-3x extra just so you won't have to take a tent from Sweden and back (which if you buy own in Benidorm, you will have to take it back with you anyways, so you're paying more money just to save tent-carrying energy one way). If everyone had their own tent, we would spend much more money, having less for going out, entertainment, food, and souvenirs just because it's a pain to carry a big tent.

If one person slept in a tent by themselves it would cost â,¬42 by the end, but if you slept in a 3 person tent like Petteri's you would only spend â,¬14.

Why not have a contest? CJ, Sinitrena, and Quiontaros....first of you to reply wins my company in their tent! Hurry! :D

Who's that leggy man with the mousey hair, sleeping with nothing but a duffel bag to lay his head on? why it's Disco of course  :D. He needs....I mean I need a place to sleep during Mittens V. I don't need much as you can tell by the photo, just a porch if necessary. If anyone wants to save money by sardining, I'm with you :P.

I must also say that I'm not someone who laughs easily, specially with games, but this game made it in a couple of times, like in the part he

sings back to that lady

Hehe, I had that part stuck in my head for an entire shift at work ikari, I played the demo for maybe 20 minutes up until now, and have laughed out loud maybe twelve times, which is more frequent than usual :P.

Commenting on to the price, I'll point only that Bone and Half-Life 2: Episode 1 costs $20.

I cannot speak on Half Life, but Bone (I assume Out From Boneville, as newer episodes are priced lower) is not the best example to give here, as Telltale stated it would be about 4 hours (maybe 2 1/2 in reality) and Himalaya estimate Al Emmo to be in area of 15-20 hours of gameplay- surely worth $10 extra, not to mention  that Al Emmo wasn't rushed out in just under a year, comes standard on a disc, and (for the version I bought) bundled with a soundtrack CD and a few posters.

I'll be around from the night of the 13th until the end of Brittens, about 5-ish on the 22nd.

@Spleen- have you booked with megabus yet? come on already!

We don't see eye to eye then m0ds, I have fingers crossed in hopes that there is some Fluff in that collection.

This topic... it's turning into... one of those topics.

You know it too...

No no no, it's not quite there yet...

TheCheese33's parents have a problem with allowing their 15 year old to see sexual material, but they have no problem with violence/guns/destruction? There are probably Republican!!

Now it's turned into one of those topics :D

While it would be nice to attend another AGS meetup, I'm afraid I can only make the two taking place several thousand miles away, not this 600 mile away Washingttens :D.

If I can get a passport, I would be interested.

If it works the same going from Canada to the US as it does contrarywise, you won't need a passport until 2007.

You'll be good as long as you don't present the female of interest with wine. Wine always leads to sex  :-\.

Okay Barcelona buds, I am leaving for my suumer holiday 26 days from now, and would like for us to decide on and pay for transportation before that time elapses if possible. If the train is the mode of choice, I suppose we ought to elect one maybe two people to collect money and pay for our tickets, so we are not all scattered for the 4 hours or so.  Are we certain a van isn't available? I did manage to find one for 9 passengers, but it was £900 for the week :( couldn't link to it either, one of those Java thingies.
#596
I'll be there all week. I can't speak for anyone else, but I'd guess that most a-few-days-only people will be 'round on the weekdays.

General Discussion / Re: Cancer(?)
Tue 30/05/2006 03:12:40
I'm quite sorry you are dealing with this now Petter, I've been there, most of us have or will.

I believe that some of what causes cancer to be lifestyle choices like you mentioned: eating unhealthy foods, smoking, being sedentary, etc. Mobile phones were much more of a problem back in the 80's from what I remember, and there were much much fewer mobiles then :P haven't they taken measures to disperse radiation away from your head? I don't pretend to know as I don't own a mobile, but I've heard of them causing cancer less and less over the years.

As far as these things being hereditary, all I can say is pay attention to your family history and take measures. I sometimes feel that I am at the cusp of a genetic meltdown, on my father's side of the family there is heart disease and on my mother's side cancer, but for the most part these problems are coming up late in their lives. Both my father's father and mother had bypass surgeries in their 60's, but you should see what they eat!  :o. My mother's father died of melanoma in 1961 (21 years before I was even born), but he was a biologist living in Florida and spent most of his time working outside. Her mother died just a few years ago at the age of 72, two weeks after collapsing in our bathroom on Christmas night from unknown brain tumors, but she smoked between 2-3 packs of cigarettes a day for over 50 years. Strangely, I am not too worried about my family history. Being a non-smoking vegetarian, I believe I stand a good chance against such diseases.

I should have pegged you as a browncoat when I read about your game  ;). I'm a bit disappointed in myself, I usually have an excellent Whedondar  :).
