QuoteIt was nice of her to give you a scarf though.

I smell an entry for the "Farlander's typos" Sprite Jam...

Lithium: Thanks... got it now. I need to rewatch Meaning of Life though, I still can't figure out what the purplish thing above the two figures is meant to be...

Tier: There were two Knights Who Say Ni references already, one by DanClarke and one by Privateer Puddin'.

Timosity, I seem to be a bit dense this morning... I'm afraid I don't get your reference. (That is, I can't see what the thing in the pool is supposed to be... someone in a bikini with something sticking out of them?) :-[

If anyone else has codec problems, google for a program with the slightly inappropriate name "GSpot" and download it. It should tell you what codec is needed if the file doesn't play.
Saved my video enjoyment at least half a dozen times. ;D

Magintz, I actually considered mentioning Discworld II right in my first post, but then I thought it might be more fun to see how long it would take for someone to bring it up... ;D

OK I'm in the school...
Spoiler

I guess that I have to find some sort of pipe to fix the sink so I can get some water... where do I find the pipe?

Good guess, but wrong. By now, all the hints (certainly the ones to get you a bit further) should be available in this thread.

Wow. Guys, these are great!
I'm really glad to see so many entries as I wasn't sure at first whether the topic was a good idea or not.

Boy, selecting a favourite will be hard though...

Hi, and welcome to AGS.

Very good first work, I especially like your use of sound effects. At first I had no idea what to do in the game, but when I got near the end it did all make sense. Some very nice ideas in there.

But please post some screenshots and tell the other people what your game is about, so they will be more enticed to download and play it.

From your readme file:
QuoteI was pretty proud to redo everything, everygame effet ( as there are few ) withouh bugging anyone in the forums,  just by reading them and reading the documentation.

I'm stuck at the same place.  I did exactly the same things plus I have given the filled 'coca-cola can' to Ben in the Café, read all the posters, tried to use the screwdriver on the office door, no results, I am stuck and cannot go anywhere except basement, café, W/C and in and out of school.

Spoiler
The screwdriver is not used at the office door. Not at first, anyway. While the cleaning lady is busy cleaning Ben's mess, push her cart away.

I'd capture an image, but I can't seem to capture from DOS :'(

Pressung ALT+PRINT should do the trick if you're running a DOS window under, erm, Windows.
Then in the graphics software of your choice, choose "Edit" and "Paste".

euhm... this might be a silly question, but : what is monty python?

Only one the best and most infuential group of comedians of the latter half of the 20th century.
Seriously, you've never seen the "Monty Python's Flying Circus" TV show, or even the movie  "Life of Brian"? Never heard the song "Always Look on the Bright Side of Life"?

Young people these days. No sense of history and culture.  ;)

DGMacPhee:
Thanks! I knew someone was bound to make that one!
I too had a reference to the dead parrot sketch in my first AGS game:

Two days ago, while I was working in a bar...

A young couple with a baby comes in. They sit down and mommy and daddy order something to drink.

After a while it's my time to check up on the guests if they want anything else to drink. As the guest area is candlelit, I sometimes have to stare a bit to see if the glasses are still full.
So I'm staring at this woman's glass, and then my eyes re-focus and I see that behind the glass, directly in my line of sight, she has one breast out and is feeding the baby. It must have looked like I was staring at her boob.

To make things complete, I open my mouth and without thinking, out comes the standard sentence I always say when I see the guests don't need any drinks at the moment...
"Good, everyone seems to have something to drink here."

The look she gave me was priceless, and only then I'd realized that I'd made an awkward situation even worse. I let my co-worker deal with that table for the rest of the evening.

And now for something completely different.

Since many people liked Guybrush's lumberjack line last week, this week's topic is...

Pythonized Adventure Games

Create a crossover between Monty Python and an adventure game. Either work a (famous or obscure) Python line, joke, image etc. (from the movies or the TV series, either will be fine) into an adventure game, or let an adventure character appear in a Python scene.

A few ideas to get the ball rolling...
(Maybe the first one is a bit too subtle. Subtle is fine, but feel free to go all out if you like.)

Yay, solved it!

BTW, I think there's a small bug:
Spoiler
When you use the heavy bucket with the shopping bag outside the shop, Frank says "He he, it's all cut open now." You get the same result when you use the knife, which makes me think that using the knife is the original intended solution and the fact that it works with the bucket as well is a programming error.

Thankyew, thankyew...
And all because I couldn't find my copy of "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade".

(My original idea was to replicate the scene from "Raiders of the Lost Ark" where Indy shoots the guy who does the swordplay, but use it to resolve the annoying "boxing" sequence that kept popping up in the Indy adventure games.)

New topic coming later today - I haven't been here too long and I need to check past photoshop activities to make sure I don't repeat anything...

How come everyone is concerned about the jiggling of her boobs, and nobody worries whether her hair should swing back and forth while she walks? ;)
