ya, so did i, but at about 10.

I played my first Sierra game about 85 - 86, probly Kings quest from memory. Tho i didnt really get into it.

I got into Police Quest a littel when i was about 10, then Heroes Quest got me hooked.

Maybe 6 is a littel too young, tho i figured with point and click, there would be a few good kids games :P

Well im not looking for Special games.. but games where Kids can play it and actually get somewhere.

Game where it pretty much tells you what to do at the start, otherwise a 5 year old will get bored and start playing GTA on playstation, where atleast there is action and somthing to do.

Basically, its got to keep them relitivly interested and not have too many places to get stuck, they arent my kids, so they will only get my help now and then.

DOTT is ideal actually, big colorful characters, simple yet good story line.

Unfortunatly is too hard for 5 year olds.
The play system is a littel complicated and theres definetly too many hard puzzles.

QuestForGlory also Ideal, but too dam hard for kiddies.
Fatman would be good too, but again same problem.

Pretty much all the games i played as a youngin are too dam hard...

Well, i want to get my Nephews into the old point and click adventure games.

Unfortunatly most games appear to be made for us older folk who grew up with them.

Im looking for a few games for 5 - 7 year olds. Somthing with simple writing they can understand and puzzles that arent too hard for the kiddies.

I guess some action to keep them interested wouldnt hurt :P

Any Suggestions??

Cheers

I give people respect untill they show me they dont deserve it, i believe everyone deserves a chance, end even a second chance and that people should be free to do what they want, as lond as they arent hurting other people.

Why?

Well not because some priest tells me I'm going to hell if I'm dont try to be a "good guy", but because of the way i was raised and because of the lessons ive learnt in life from doing stupid shit.

A bit off topic:

Lesson No 1:
If you don't act like a "good guy", people hit you.

Lesson No 2:Psychological Egoism

People have nothing good in them actually, they just follow their basic incstincs, searching for pleasure and evading danger.

Exactly my point.
You dont need some stupid religion to tell you to be good. There are consequences in doing the wrong thing in life, not after death.

I dont have a problem with alot of the values that some religions try to teach, but really, its about time they all get with the times and find new ways to teach love and respect for your fellow man.

These days, especially in first world countries, i dont see the need for religion in its current form.

I find most religious people are atleast partially brainwashed, but thats not the problem. The problem IMO with most, is their blind faith. The fact that no matter how much evidence one was to provide disproving that their religion was incorrect about somthing, they will often insist you are wrong and refuse to listen to reason.

I have no problem with other people being of whatever religion they choose to be. What i dont like is when they preach and attempt to convert others. Especially others who dont want to be converted.

In countries like Australia, we dont have a problem with this kind of thing at the moment (tho religion is making a comeback unfortunatly) however goto Pakistan or India and certian ethnic or religious groups like the Kalash are persecuted and refused jobs based soley on their beliefs.

This is a mojor problem in the world thats been around for thousands of years, and unfortunatly it will not be solved any time soon.

comment removed by Darth - please refrain from that kind of talk!  Thanks :)

Looks ok. Not sure how the sprites you used came to you, but he is right about the white halo around them. If you cuting them out in photoshop, turn off anti aliasing before you cut them, or use the background eraser before you cut them around the edges.

I agree, tho i do it a littel differently.

The MAC, i always seem to refer as "The MAC" even tho its just a "PC" running OSX
The others i just refer to as "The <Operating System> PC"

Most other people i can also tell by how there talking or what their ralking about.

Much better.

Wow, thats pretty dam good!!

I gota say thats completely wrong, especially with all the fuss over "global warming" and energy conservation. They would be encouraging us keep them off as often as possible.

PCs these days require more power to run than ever before. Most PCs will have a 500watt MINIMUM power supply where 10 years ago most PCs would have had a 220 or 250 watt.
Power management features on most systems dont work either :/

Tho with the popularity of LCD screens on the rise its getting back to normal.

General Discussion / Re: An mp3 player

My advice.. Dont buy an iPod.

I have 2 resons for my dislike of ipods.

1 (and most importantly) they break too dam easily. Several friends have gone through several ipods, most notably the iPod Nanos.

2 I get pissed off with the ridiculous ammpunt of people out there who think any MP3 player is an iPod.
Reminds me of the 80s when most Yanks thought any Video game console was a Nintendo...  :'(

Every system has its advantages and disadvantages.
Im sick of people arguing that one is better than the other for whatever reson.

Fact is, MOST people are bias, they own 1 PC with 1 OS and insist its the best and have no experience with any other system.

Luckily the community around here seems to be of a generally higher age than most and have tried many different OSs over the last 30 years and are probly in a better position to talk about it than the people i come across in other communities. :D

Its a $3 fan, save your self the grief and replace it. :P

Its probly easier than trying to get someone to fix it under warranty.

According to most US shows, every college has a Dorm or a bunch of Fraternity houses and everyone lives in them.

Nice intro :D
