I third the talk about hotel rooms being bad. I like the houses we have rented I think they work perfectly! We paid for a whole week what would have cost 2 days at a hotel.
If anything, in Mittens to come we should take better account of the available beds so everyone has a place to sleep!

Disco's idea of renting a yacht is really interesting, it would definitely be an adventure!

Wherever we go next year, I am a fan of warmth. It doesn't have to be blisteringly hot but warm enough to swim and a place to swim seems to be a proven mittens success.

Italy has some nice beaches I hear! But Holland looks nice too! We should put it to a vote.

Becky and Adam, those photos are awesome!
It's like re living the whole week! You must have been sneaky about it too, I don't remember a camera being permanently implanted in your hand...

As eric said we had an uneventful trip home, I miss everyone so much already!
I was looking through the crowds at the airport sighting Phantom mitteneers!
It was wonderful and so much fun, some of the best times I've ever had. It was excellent to finally meet people I have known face to face and to giggle it up with the ones I already met, I can't wait for next year already! Thank you 10 times to Grund for Hosting and to Jeremy, CJ and Mills for carting everyone around all week.

HOWEVER I am disappointed we didn't have time to play the traditional 100 blank white cards for the last day of Mittens! SO I made some of my own.
Feel free to make some yourself! Maybe next year we can print them out and play them for reals.

Pictures to come!!

I'll wear my dunkin' hat!

Sorry Grund! Monday is my birthday and as such I get ONE WISH. That wish is to see old naked penises at the naked penis beach. (I also get to rename the beach)

For those arrving at MIA on the 29th, a suggested meeting point has been Concourse E ( http://www.airportterminalmaps.com/images/MIA-terminal-map.gif ), as it's in the middle :)

That sounds excellent! I think you guys will probably be waiting for us since we arrive right after you? And then Fransisco is picking us up I think?

#6
Fransisco, you are such a tease.

You guys, you guys, you may have seen my bones but you have not seen my BONER.

Holy farts! There is only like 1 week til Mittens!

I am sure Grundislav has some activity ideas but I couldn't help but look some up online.

There is a Science museum in Miami that looks cool:
http://www.miamisci.org/

And a zoo!
http://www.miamimetrozoo.com/

And there is a 4th of July celebration in Hollywood on the Broadwalk with a firewroks display

Personally though, I am most excited about the nude beach about 20 minutes away. Who is ready to see naked old people with me????? Or should I say, who is ready to go blind???

OH man!!!

You guys, the 29th is totally my Birthday! My gift is Mittens??? You shouldn't have!

First off I would like a carrot cake, and some kind of chair covered in glitter to for people to carry me around on. Oh yes, did I mention you will be carrying me everywhere? I would like to be escorted to the front of Space Mountain please! BIRTHDAY GIRLS DO NOT WAIT IN LINES.

Lastly Mr. Jones, since you cannot refuse on my Birthday, I would like your Blue cup! Finally...is it mine! Mmmmwwahahahahaaaa

Thanks for the help Grund!
These dates will work nicely.....

OH FINALLY, I have uploaded my pictures. JEEZ what took me so long??
There were like 400 or something, but I narrowed it down and captioned them all, and it made me miss Mittens even more!
Enjoy:

(P.S. it was very difficult for me not to draw wieners on all of these photos. I showed some serious restraint here.)

hahaha, she looks awesome. And frightening.
In Soviet Russia, stick find you.

hahaha, what an excellent Melt the Limit this year.
And just for the hell of it I went back and watched all the other ones again, man, Nacho had so much hair! Haha!

HEY everyone!!
Mittens was amazing this year, although I have no doubt it's my fault all of you are sick :(  I caught something on the plane and I felt terrible through most of the trip, but it didn't stop me from having an amazing time. I haven't laughed that much in a while and I loved walking in the woods and sitting out on the porch and watching the dailies and seeing eveyone's game demos. I feel like mittens is such a lucky thing we all get to enjoy, being around so many smart, funny creative people is really refreshing and I look forward to next year so much!

Our location was absolutely gorgeous, and I don't even feel bad that we didn't get to spend much time in Paris because the Chateau and the town were just so lovely (despite the 2 hour lunch breaks and early shop closing times)

We had a lovely time walking around Paris the next day, I was sad and felt bad we missed the catacombs but the museum of Modern Art was one of the most amazing buildings I've ever seen and eating diner in the Latin quarter was just lovely.

Thanks be to Erin for translating so wonderfully and to Darren and Jeremy and Nacho for knowing how to drive stick! And to (gay)Ga for organizing the Mittens quiz. Playing 1000 blank white cards was definitely a highlight of the trip for me, there were a lot of repeat cards but it was hilarious. Especially fruit tree's card!

I really hope Erin and Mills caught their planes. And Darren, I hope you can make due in Paris for three days! This is where having that job thing comes in handy right? You really should have said bye to Mills, I swear he was just blubbering like a baby, in the butt. (hey, maybe he's staying in your hotel, heh)

Oh yeah, and sorry if my butt crack offended anyone. It has a mind of it's own! When I worked at Borders they used to call me "cracky". I really just have a long crack, it cannot be contained no matter what I do, I have learned to live with it, and so must you.
Maybe I will graffiti a blue cup (with a wiener in it of course) on top of it to make it more appropriate.

I am looking at all the pictures and getting nostalgic already!! Creed, I can't believe Silvia Plath fell asleep on you!
Nacho, remember to send me the Spanish words for that special salute phrase you were telling me about! Hahaha.
Marco I'm sorry I didn't get to say goodbye! I missed a few other people too who went to bed early, oh well, you will all just have to come to Miami next year!!

I will post my pictures as soon as I can get through them all, I took A LOT of pictures.

No, Nacho I think you are confused, and it's making me confused because this has all already been discussed and figured out.

Erin is not going to come to you guys in Paris, Erin is coming into the airport at 7 in the morning, we will get into the airport at 7 also as well as Mills. You don't need to bring 10 people in any car to the airport, just one person, Darth, should come and get the car and then we can leave and meet at the catacombs.

There is nothing crazy going on here.
#15
Wait, I'm confused, how are we all going to get to the Chateau if we all aren't going to fit in the cars?

We are probably going to have to rent a 3rd car if we all can't fit.

Yes! I remember I commented with Chrille the "alltogether to the catacombs on 15th option" and he told me "would you like to the Paris sewers after a 6-hour flight?" Yes...now I remember we agreed it shouldn't be a good option.

And... after thinking a bit, bringing the "b car people" to Paris has some other cons... If I go making trips from CDG to Paris... we wouldn' t have space in the cars to go from Paris to CDG!!! (Remember, we wouldn' t have the second car till 1100 on 15th...)

I will be checking the forums till the last moment to know which decission you' ve taken.

Nacho, I don't know what you are trying to say here. Why wouldn't there be space in the cars?

If somebody doesn't come pick up the people getting into the airport we are going to have to navigate through Paris to try and find where you guys are and I just assumed it would be easier to get everyone from the Airport, an easy to find destination where everyone will be arriving. The car is also under Darth's name so I figured he should be the one to pick it up.

All that needs to happen is whenever you guys are ready to leave where you are staying, come to the airport, get the rest of the crew and then we can head out to the catacombs or where ever else anybody wants to go.

If the time to pick up the car is a problem I'm sure we can just tell the people at the rental car place we can't pick it up until a little later.

#17
I think the catacombs would be fine as long as we have time to get some lunch/breakfast food and stuff.

I am also a go with the flow-er. No one ever said you guys had to pick us up right when we got to the airport, if you want to come at 11 or something I don't see a problem with that. Odds are our planes aren't all going to be on time getting in so we will be standing around anyway. Just give us calls around 7:30/8:00 and check in with us.

We can occupy ourselves until you guys wake up! Eric and I didn't order French money in time so we have to get to an ATM as soon as we get to the Airport, oh and we will probably wonder around speaking fake French to people and taking pictures of our butts. (you may not want to associate yourselves with us when you get there)

Darth:
Mills is in our car!
Remember I told you about the GPS we had? Well I lied, apparently it doesn't have French maps, but we are totally going to buy some, or hell, I will just print out some google maps on how to get to the place!

Alright!

We have found a hotel for all those staying the night of the 22nd in Paris, if anyone else is interested in staying at the same place, you can book your room here:
http://www.expedia.com/pub/agent.dll/qscr=dspv/htid=186138

OR if that link doesn't work for you or need to read it in another language you can check out the Hotel's website and book your room from there:
http://www.armstrong-paris-hotel.com/

(DANG, looks like it's cheaper through the website, too bad I already booked through expedia!)

it's about $100-140 a night, which is not bad for a hotel in Paris and it's close to a few big things like the Louvre and the Eiffel tower in case we miss anything and want to scout around on Friday.

You guys I am so freaking stoked for Mittens. Also for a balloon room...and sexual favors. But mostly Mittens...

Eric and I are trying to book a hotel room for Friday the 22nd to Saturday when we leave and I was wondering where other people are staying?

We probably all can't be in the same hotel but it would be cool to be in the same area and meet for dinner or walking around town.

Anyone who is staying in a hotel that night, give me your street address or name of your hotel or whatever landmarks are in your neighborhood so we can coordinate!
