Would anyone else find support for luminance > 100% useful?

I would find support for luminance AND saturation 100% useful. As I'm interested in changing thar saturation of the colors to get grey tones of characters and rooms without using aditional sprites.

And stare at classy 20's cadillacs
But that cadillac is 40's or 50's  ::)

Anyway, the game seems intriguing. I will definately play this when it is finished.

D'oh! You're right, it's a Cadillac Touring Sedan from the 50's, I typed it wrong. I'll correct it. Thank you very much.

Anyway, stare at classy 50's cadillacs.

Thank you guys. It's nice to see you're expecting this, because I'm putting everything in the project.

I really love the graphics, can we have more infos about the plot?
Is it about some rookie who want respect from the familia or something?

I'm not going to reveal you small or big details about the plot yet. But you can be sure that the plot is nothing about a rookie gangster with delusions of grandeur looking for glory which is a typical-to-death plot. It's something wider, deeper, funnier and more complex.

The reason I'm not telling about the story is to keep it fresh until I can make a proper announcement when I can show a little bit more.

Sorry for that.

AGS Games in Production / The Vendetta Project
Mon 14/04/2008 19:01:00
I'm G, and this is my

The Vendetta Project is the public name of my current game in production, which is still in Alpha stage. It is story about gangsters and mafias but in a comedy style, much like Monkey Island, Day of the Tentacle o Space Quest.

Screenshots

The main character.

Face the ferocious local newspaper sellers

Wander in old-fashioned building sites

And stare at classy 50's cadillacs

At present time only the first act of the game is complete in its alpha state, and I would l have like to keep this in secret for some more time but I do need help!
I require the abilities of a skilled musician for the midi music of the game. And someone able to translate the game so far from Spanish to English.

Go to the help request thread for detailed information:
http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/yabb/index.php?topic=30347.500

F.A.Q.

When is this game going to be released?
I don't know, and i don't like to give false information, son when it's finished.

Is "Vendetta Project" the definitive name of the game?
No. The definitive name is classified information.

How many acts does the game have?
From 4 to 5. Maybe more if plot needs to be extended.

Will this game be free?
Yes, completely free.

Cheers

Hi there. I'm G and I'm looking for help with my current project

The Vendetta Project is the public name of my game in an early stage of development. It is gangster-themed game, but with a very naive and romantic conception of the theme, and of course, a nice dose of comedy as in games like Monkey Island or Space Quest.

Screens

The fact is that I'm looking for someone with great skills for midi music since I was denied the skills for that. I promise this game has a lot of music genres so making music will not be boring at all.

As you see, the game is in pure Spanish. I'm looking for someone who can translate it to english, since I've finshed the first act and I'm developing the second. In a future, when game gets completed and the English translation done, I'll ask for more people who can translate the game to more languages (Italian, French, Russian, Portuguese...)

Anyone interested in providing help, please sen me a PM and I'll answer you with more information about the project. Of course, your names or nicks (whatever you want) will be present in the credits.

Hope to get help.

Cheers!

Emergency tracheotomy?
Improved wire for a defibrillator?
Lockpicking?
Hanging clothes?

Perpetual Motion Machine

In fact my first AGS game featured a Perpetual Motion Machine. The game was "El misterio de la Esceula de Arte."

Thanks, but already solved it using regions and imagination. Though your method sounds smarter than mine.

Hi there, I've found a problem.

I need to block a path with a door at one of my rooms, but, the "solid" property of the door as a character only works "horizontally" (blocking all the width of the sprite, but not the height). So I find that I've made an useless door, mainly because the player character oversteps it just moving one pixel up o down from the coordinates of the door. Which is quite disturbing.

Is there any way to block the path vertically without consuming much resources?

And anytime breasts, in general, get a bad press, I will be there. Proud and erect.

Mine too... I mean, me too.

Go on with this jewel!

Wow, that worked.

Thank you very much!

After re-scripting my game to make it work on AGS 3.0, I've found that the Walk Cursor doesn't works.

The odd thing is that the rest of the cursor modes works perfectly, I can look at objetcs and hotspots, for instance, but I can't move my character, and yes, he is placed on a walkable area.

Diagnosis?

Thanks in advance.

Thank you for answering. I supose I'll have to correct the whole script by myself. Well, looking at the braght side of the matter... it will be a nice way to get used to the new interface.

Cheers!

I have just downloaded AGS V3.0, and the first problem I have is that all the old Graphical Variables from the previous version of my game are gone or not recognizable for AGS 3.0. So How do I manage to create new Graphical Variables?

I don't find anything in the help files...
#58
Well, as far as it is not a "graphic question" but an "art question". I should say that those graphics could be called "Realist". But as far as these are dynamic graphics rather than static pictures, we could call them "Dynamic Realism".

And due to those are low-res graphics it could be "Dynamic Pixelated Realism" or "Low-Res Dynamic Realism"

But as far as I know about art this could be a entirely new kind of artistic conception.

Cool, thanks CJ.

If it's just one room where you want to do this, create a seperate greyscale version of the room background and import it as a secondary background for the room. Then in theory you can use SetAmbientTint and SetBackgroundFrame to make everything greyscale.

Yeah, but this is not the case. I'd like to "freeze" the time, representing it by turning the scene to greyscale, and then the narrator talks, when the narrator finishes the scene returns to it original colours.

But I think this is impossible right now.
