The database entry for RAM Ghost: http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/site/games/game/1532/

Judging from the downloads alone (I am aware that almost half of them are from the time it was in the BakeSale bundle, but still) I would think that a user rating should already be available. However, the game is not even listed on either the "no one has rated" OR the "less than few have rated" link pages. Is that a database fluke? Has is something to do with the game being originally labelled as "commercial" and has been downupgraded to freeware?

I am still NOT working on the original game OSD: I Married A Teenage Robot. Do not expect it to fail to be not done this year, because it won't not be. Just FYI.

I know of (at least) one case where fullscreen widescreen borders were available in DirectDraw but not in D3D. I don't know if Nelly has any features that enforce the use of D3D, so maybe try changing the driver?

"Something blue" just has to be a cup.

That was one idea. And your cup *rocks* with helpful usefulness!  (nod)

I am really glad to see the interest. I picked a very vague theme hoping that more people would take on the challenge, and still have a good guideline.

As I read in awakening's Recruit thread he seems to combine the requirements; that is an option too (could someone even manage to make ONE old, new, borrowed and blue thing- that would be hilarious!).

And Soxbrooker: That picture is awesome! Can't wait to see the game!

Happiest B-Day, Nemo!

And today to Nightfable. I sure hope we'll see you around some more often!

Congratulations to everyone; some amazing artwork in here. Even though I passed out early I still watched and learned a lot  (nod) I'm looking forward to another round.

Ah, if we are already passing around youtube links, this one is pretty good. No translation though.

I think they look good, especially with the relatively low framecount. A couple of things, though:
- In the front view, there is one frame where the tie shifts to the right, in all other frames it is "still". Either make another frame where it also shifts to the left, or keep it still.
- The side view could use a darker shade where the jacket overlaps the trousers. Also, but this could be your style, I think the arms are a bit too short; they wouldn't stop at the waist but reach to roughly the middle of the tights.
- There is a flashing bright pixel in the back view that really stands out (left, when hand moves forward).

So even not a short visit?

Unfortunately, no. I did the math. The trip's just too expensive to justify a weekend stay. Sorry.

I am out, sadly. It's all job interviews and the possibility that I have to move at a notice. Shame, really, I've been looking forward to meeting you guys.

Horror that is personal, up close, or even directly related to the player character. Getting chased by Slendy or being mauled by zombies gets a bit old rather fast. Being posessed/corrupted/changed by something makes the horror there to stay.

I really think that is a very useful concept. The horror genre has often been described as offering a relief from real horror: No matter how scary your monster, it's nothing compared to personal fears (losing someone, getting sick, being alone). So fictional horror, no matter how good the effects, has a simple "counter"- it will not happen.
Linking a fictional horror to something that could happen- as some sort of metaphor or extension- makes the setup instantly more threatening (again, I think this is the main reason why Cronenberg's The Fly works so well, because the whole transformation to a monster is a) irreversible and b) mostly shown through the eyes of the monster's lover who sees her beloved fall to pieces).

Extra points for vagueness- usually it's "show don't tell", but a lot of suspense can be build by hinting at stuff and never really showing it. The xenomorph in Alien? Scary as hell - until we finally see it in all its rubber glory.

Oh and spiders. Man, spiders are creepy.

Considering Valerian & Laureline, I can only recommend that series. It has been republished recently as a set of hard-cover collections, but even if you can't get those the albums are mostly self-contained. It's a very charming take on the classic "adventurous duo has adventures in space (and time)" setup, with impressive character and creature design and some of the wittiest writing I've found in that genre*. The art is very good, too.
I have no idea how good translations are, though. I own the German version which is pretty well done, but I hear the series is best in its original language.

Spoiler
In one story the team meets three galactic entities who are, essentially, God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. God is a banker-type, Jesus a good-natured hippie tramp, and the Holy Spirit is a gambling machine. A pretty cool discussion about allowing Man to live out their lives ensues.

I don't know if it's different for Google Accounts that already have another blog (which I do), but for me it's at the page's top right corner, "New Post".
It's a bit hard to read against the bleeding background.

a post has to have the 'AGS' tag (label) to appear on the feed on the AGS front page.

Yikes! I shall correct that instantly! Thanks, AGA!

Done  :) Also added proper additional tags.

Best of luck with that Kickstarter, Ali, that game really deserves it. And if you make it way beyond the goal, shoes for your lady!  ;-D
