Or, how Trump becoming president was like the end of world...
Wait... Maybe you can continue with that...

I wonder if it is edible; might have gone well with that pancake turtle stew mentioned above.
Yes. Or at least some subclasses(? subtypes?, subspecies? I'm not good at this), especially in Japan. They brew soup with these fish for noodles/udon.
There used to be a Japanese restaurant nearby which specialised in udon in angler fish soup (though we usually order udon in tomato soup more often).

...

Why am I only posting comments on whether some monsters weird animals are edible here?!!

Did anyone else know there were turtles with soft shells?
These "turtles" are considered a delicacy with high nutrition value and are relatively expensive.
About 20 years ago, I went with my superior to the mainland to meet some writers of supporting materials (I am a mathematics textbook editor if you don't know already). At lunch they ordered a soup with such creature. It's the whole thing chopped into pieces with recognisable limbs (together with claws), head, and the shell still attached, etc...

...and they never ate it, but told me to eat more: "this is great and good to you!" I had no choice but to had some...

Now I have told you this.

You're a mod, maybe you could change the topic to be more clear?  ;)
Done, but only the first post is changed atm, but I think replying to this thread will use the new subject now.

I'm not a global mod, and couldn't do this previously to boards I don't moderate.
It's been changed since some recent years that every mod can moderate the more general forums, but there seems to be some setting problems so I was not sure what can be done and what not until I tried.

What does that have to do with this thread? ???
I think one problem is the subject of this thread is not clear enough. The movie and game ones have very clear subjects that they are games to guess a title.
But here, it could very well be mistaken for a place to discuss recent shows, though anyone who's been a member here for a while should know already what here is for.

Spoiler
Soylent Green is people!

We even had a competition which was a homage of this film here.

The info pane showing the level makes me guess it could be a Neo-Geo game.
Never know what wrestling brawlers there are on the system (wrestling fandom is non-existing here) I took a look on its library, confirming with screenshots from Mobygames.
It's Fire Suplex (AKA 3 Count Bout in the west).

No idea for the next round at the moment, so anyone can grab this space.

I never knew about this plug-in, and by how inactive this thread was it seems few (if any) people actually tried it, which is a pity as it seems to work well according to the test video clip. (Though I won't use it as I am against plug-ins myself.)

Supporting UTF-8 text is a much needed feature of AGS, it'd be great if the functionality of this plug-in can be incorporated into the engine itself.

Technically, I need the permission of a moderator to post this in the Competition Forum, so am I allowed to just start a thread for my lists?

Yeah, just start a new thread and I think this is a good idea (even though there may be some overlaps with the functionality of the Hall of Fame thread, but adding other information such as topics there is a pain now). I'll make it sticky afterwards.

Is there anyone in here who can help?
I'm happy to post code if that helps find a solution?
It's just the usual 'everyone has a life and may not concern much about virtual adventures at weekends' thing. Just be patient as this is a forum, not a chat. It's normal to have people answer to a thread only after hours have passed (not to mention they live in different time zones).

I could not help ATM as I'm not at home and writing this with my phone.

Please don't bump threads unless there really is some new things to add, and don't cross-post in different forums. If you think a thread was not started in the appropiate forum just notify a moderator for them to move it for you. I'll remove tge duplicated thread from the beginners' forum.

The helicopters look like something that would appear in a Toaplan shooter, but I have no idea which of their games would feature a mission briefing screen on what bosses are coming in a stage.

I'm not certain about details, but as far as I remember with AVI files the engine just uses DirectPlay (or whatever name M$ is using for the function in Windows), which depends on a lot of things such as whether you have the appropriate drivers installed or configurated, whether the graphics are accelerated, whether the game is run windowed or in fullscreen, etc. With OGG video files, however, the engine uses an internal player to play it so if you can see the screen of an AGS game you can see the movie.
