X-Simpsons?

I think, at least the link in the WIKI's front page should be updated to the external one from the AGS site. Couldn't do this though as it requires admin right to edit the front page it seems.

Hehe... that was me :-[

And you also posted another game which was yet to appear quite recently.

So, it's been done before, and I don't understand why people suddenly started complaining about guessing games not yet released. :=

I don't know whether this is related to the recent 403 errors in the dB, but a user reported to me that he couldn't start a topic in the Beginners' Tech forum, without the follow error:

Critics' Lounge / Re: AGS Splash Screen Image
Tue 29/05/2018 16:58:23
I moved this to Critics Lounge.
Depending on whether you want other people's comments on it or not, if not it could be posted in the contribution thread instead.

Anyway, since it's a blocky pixel art image, is there any reason for it to be that large. It would be much preferable if it's in low resolution (with 1:1 pixels instead of large blocky ones) so people who decide to use it can scale it up to their need whenever necessary.

Aw well... Isn't it better to write which would this is, or at least the duration of the activity, in the topic? Telling threads with identical topics apart is just hard.

Personally IMO if the pixellation filter makes the graphics resemble pixel art it'd be great as pixel graphics is more a style than anything, but if the source graphics are more realistic, or are 3-D rendered (be it pre-rendered or real-time) this does not work so well. Here the result looked like PS1-era (or DKC on Super Famicom) graphics, which IMO, might look impressive at their time, don't age well and look ugly nowadays, unless it's intentional to mimic that PS1 era quality.

On the other hand, if the filter is more extreme, like apart from lowering the resolution, lower also the colour count, such as posterising the screen it may work as a style even though they look even more ugly, as there are indeed games intentionally designed to use such kind of presentation.

Ooh I joined 3 years later than you Andail!
Not really. July 2002 was the time where the community moved from Ezboard to the current forums, so members who have been here for a while "joined" here during that time. I think Andail was at least here since the Ezboard era.
Too bad Ezboard used robot.txt for protection so these old boards wouldn't show up in archived form and are lost forever.

Aaaand... before Ezboard there're actually even older ones.

If this thread belongs better in the Rumpus Room, please feel free to move it!
I think this is okay, so I'll leave it just here.

The problem though, is that, this is not a general adventure game community, but in fact the AGS community, so it's just natural to allow non-adventure games made with AGS in competitions. If we allow "other" tools in creating adventure games we should allow also engines other than MonoAGS and XAGE, like Godot, etc., this beats the purpose of here being the AGS community. However, since there may not be further "official" successors of AGS (apart from AGS4), IMO MonoAGS and XAGE could be considered acceptable since they inherit a number of stuff from the original AGS and are in some way spiritual sucessors of AGS, so they're not that foreign and may not count as "other" tools.

Actually in Japanese DRY-MON is pronounced DO-RA-I-MO-N, which is only one character different from the original name, and is a VERY common parody of the subject...

...subject... anyway, back to subject! Zach, is Cl...'s answer correct?

It's not just in Japan. Doraemon is SERIOUS BUSINESS here.

No one would not know what Doraemon is here, but I think the hard part is which game it is, as there are a ton of them.

The only Aersomith game I knew was Revolution X (I actually have the PC version picked up from the bargain bin).
I was curious and asked Great G the question "Aersomith games" and immediately I got Rev X and this game(now I know this game but I cheated so, nevermind). Looks interesting.

No wonder...
These dithering photos were what Dynamix (in)famously known for, especially during the EGA and early VGA times.
I've looked for Ghostbusters games in mobygames before making my last comment, and did find Ghostbusters II by the same people(released in the same year even). Even though the horrible dithered photos looked quite close and that the uniforms looked alike I spoke in my conscious that this was not a Ghosterbuster game, and it wasn't, though had some close relations(same style, made by the same people) that I was not aware of.

I don't know, but the uniforms remind me of Ghostbusters.

Please, do not discriminate against people who were born with a-b-normality! Like... having two left eyes or two right ears. :=
