Well I think mouse gesture is crap, so I disabled it already. But I LOVE Opera, there're much more than that for you to use it!

And MyIE won't work obviously with my WIN95 comp at home, which I had striped it clean of M$IE long ago...

Heh I didn't check the file list and didn't know about the existence of room-1.crm, I thought it's giving teh same message whenever the starting room is set like that. My bad. ;)

Well, villagephotos doesn't allow hotlinking anymore, but I won' care.

Heh yeah if we meet again hopefully we'll have a picture taken this time.

No, CJ just likes to think of names for each of the releases, sometimes they're related to the changes/fixes/additions, sometimes just some non-sensible jokes (sorry CJ hehe). ;)

Well just found the problem, it's not easy to notice, just set your player character to start in room 0 instead of room -1, the problem is solved.

You cannot set the player character to start in a non-existing room, because upon start, the engine determines which is the first room to load by checking which room the player character starts in (and if it's 0, the engine will loads intro.crm).

If you don't want him to appear initially, just hide him (using whatever method, just as setting the hidden variable character[EGO].on to 0, or change him to a "blank" view, or, if you just don't want him in the whole room, just hide him in that room's setting, which you had done already).

But I'll say that it's not very friendly for the engine to report an irrevalent error message, I'll stick this topic for CJ to see.

Use MoveCharacterBlocking () instead of teh other script functions, check out the manual for available parameters.

* Gilbot V7000a starts teh download immediately!
#6769
Hmmm are there anything in the script headers?

If the problem persists you may consider uploading the game and let others try and figure out what's happening.

sometimes when i open for example the rooms /repeatedly execute/ run script/ editing window to make an alteration...it shows me entrys from the other room functions...such as when player enters room..etc....and once or twice ive had an error been prompted to edit my script..

Yep it's a known problem, if there're some misplaced {}'s OR if the function's name appears in the script before teh actual declarition of it (like in a comment, etc.), clicking teh "edit script" buttons would most likely to jump to incorrect positions. It's supposed to be fixed in the newest beta (V2.61beta1).

Actually you can just overwrite old AGS files by extracting new files over them, but this is not recommended in case the files weren't completely overwritten, (unlikely) incompatibilities with old game files, etc.

When upgrading AGS, the best way is to extract the new files to a new folder, and copy your working game's folder intoto this new folder, then work on the new files there. That way you still got a backup in case you did something wrong or if there're some bugs in the new version that ruins your game. When you had them working for a while and are comfortable that there shouldn't be any problem using the new version, you can delete teh old files if you like.

Because you mispelt dialog as dialoq in the script...
#6772
Strange. Did you tried upgrading the game to V2.6SP1?
#6773
I'll say, why care about the default graphics, they're drawn by teh Almighty Pumaman, leave them alone!

If you just want some graphics for reference or to paint over, just download the RON or teh Instagame resources.
#6774
You probably set the "Left click" action of teh "look" and "walk" buttons to "Set cursor mode" (actually I think this is the default action for the default GUI), if you want more control over these two buttons, just change their left click action to "run script..." and you can script whatever you want for them.
#6775
Try putting the codes into "player enters screen before fade in" instead and see if it changes anything.
#6776
Hey volmel, didn't hear from you for a long time. :D

BTW I think there're some PC emulators on teh mac, maybe someone could try and see if they can run ags games.

He's holidaying right? (Actually he's holidaying forever.)

I know teh aurora sucks but that's all I can do with M$pain hehe.
#6778
Yes, notice how CJ used ">=" instead of "==".
#6779
Heh Spyros, you'd been away for too long (though the reason was obvious ;) ).

Actually I didn't know about it either, I think meowy got  it, but to be more specific, is that you can now set independently the horizontal and vertical walking speeds of a character, which is possible if that checkbox is unchecked, if it's checked, it reverts to the old behaviour that the horizontal and vertical walking speeds are the same.
#6780
What's teh error message now, actually?
