But the wonderful world of TWO palette effects has, like, TWO palette effects.

Sigh... Actually in my games I use a lot of palette effects. They're just not released yet.

There really is no reason to use 8bit anymore.
I beg to differ. 8 bit is probably the only colour depth I'll use in AGS games. Yes, it's hard for ordinary people to get into, but if used correctly it introduces you to a wonderful world of palette effects.

Just a random guess. Consider that jewelry (robbery?) is involved and it doesn't look like a recent film, one of those Pink Panther films?

Not only that, but also the missing parentheses:
function cupboard_Interact()

Critical path?
(I never played this game and never saw it in action, but I saw its box all the time.)

Most, if not all, of your questions should be answered in the GIT hub, linked from the Develop AGS section of the AGS page of the AGS main site.

Is this made with AGS? If not, you shouldn't post this on this forum.

I'm surprise that someone will find the Squat Toilet weird. It's everywhere here.

The game looks fun, but is it an AGS game? Otherwise this is posted on the wrong board.

I found it quite recognisible. Perfect for replacing the portrait of the ghost boy (I think he's called Rusty) in Loom.

Apart from those Demo game there was the intro part of SQ4 recreated with AGS as a showcase(I think it's AGS V2.x already, as AC V1.x probably wasn't good enough for that). I didn't remember whether it's CJ himself who made it though.

Gribbler, as I know, it's another Chris Jones
Sigh... You just didn't get the jo... nevermind.
CJ actually made a lot of homebrew games (mostly clones of famous games such as B*bble B*bble, etc.) and tools for DOS back at the time. Adventure Creator was just one of his creations, and the most successful one, that survives until now. He probably never made a "true" game except the demo by using AC though.

Actually those old DOS stuff was the main reason I am here, and it's not AC, since AC didn't even work on my system. Ah, those old days...

Descent?

Directed by Uwe Boll and presumably using footage from the actual games. Perfect.

I was bored so I cheated and knew what this was. I wouldn't answer for obvious reasons.

Guitar Heroes!

...Wait...

Unless you need a room scrollable in every direction, one workaround trick is to make the two rooms into the same room file, by tiling the backgrounds of the two rooms into one. When you need to "change room", just change the viewport.

Not every one is accustomed to every feature of the engine and they need not be. Anyone can use whichever method which is easier to them or more comfortable to work with. Using rooms is easy for most people. You just import the background and do the necessary scripting.

Moreover, because of how things work(for AGS at least), room backgrounds compress much better than sprites, so it actually reduces the game's size if you use rooms instead of importing a number of sprites. IMO this is a big advantage.
