I'll be hated whenever I want to remove one character from a page after proof-reading...

To make/edit a game, launch agsedit.exe, you have this file with you, right? Right?
#7723
You wont archive much if your game's in 256 colour.
See the explanation from the manual:
Quote
NOTE: Light levels only work when the character's graphic is at the same colour depth as the background (ie. a 256-colour character in a hi-colour game won't get lightened).

NOTE: In a 256-colour game, only darkening areas (light level < 100%) will work. Also, depending on the room palette the quality of the darkening will vary in 256-colour games.

NOTE: The DOS engine is no longer included in the download. My DOS compiler has gone tits-up and I don't seem to be able to compile it any more.
Were any of you actually using it anyway? If so, I can look into getting the compiler working again and bring it back - otherwise I won't bother.

Yes... :(

As I'll only test my games thoroughly with the DOS engine, I only want them to be guaranteed to be perfect with DOS, and I don't really care about the windows one.
I think I'll need to stick to V2.54 from now on, no problem though, as I think everything I need are in V2.54 already.

Hints & Tips / Pixely Pete

Hmmm it's an old game (an hour game or a MAGS game I guess). I'm currently playing the unplayed old AGS games scattered around in my harddisk, and I'm stuck this Pexely Pete game (I forget the full title, it's about breaking into a mad scientist's house and such):
Spoiler

I'd given the leg to the scientist, now I have teh cheese, a toolbox and the rope, what should I do next? There didn't seem to be anything in the mouse hole...

It's an AGS template file, introduced in V2.5.... errr... I forgot it, using it, you can start a new game with predefined GUIs, settings, etc.

P.S. When will RLBAT2 be done?
#7728
Nope, use BMP or PCX instead. But when you post a picture on the internet, better use "web-friendly" formats like JPEG, GIF or PNG.
#7729
Hehe looks like a good new addition to your adventure games.

You should say "You dance like a dairy farmer!"

Hmmm I never used flash, but I think the problem is that animating flash thingies with such high details may suffer from a slow down for some lower end computers, unless you just use flash to "pre-render" animated images for other uses, of course.

But anyway, GREEEAT art!

However the item doesnt appear in my GUI inv window... if i press alt-I it does infact appear in the default AGS inv window. What am i missing in my code?

Hmmmm, try adding the following line after that AddInventory line:
UpdateInventory();

If that doesn't work, there're probably some problem with scripting in the inv. GUI, in that case, you may post the inv. GUI script here.

however when i want to display a messal val when i interect with the new 'close up object'  it does nothing. Infact any type of interaction concearning the new close up object is unregisterd.

Hmmm which interaction entry did you use for displaying teh message? Is it "Interact with object #" or otherwise?
If that "cancel" GUI is set to "script only", change it to "always on", you may use a GUIOff() in game_start() of the global script to prevent it from initially visible in the game.

The proudest moment in my life was when I worked out, WITHOUT random clicking, that in order to get vinegar for the super battery in DOTT I had to ferment the wine for a few hundred years. Oh yeah, that and the making a tentacle-shaped american flag costume XD

* Gilbot V7000a is ashamed, as he had to read the hintbook made the vinegar.

Too bad my copy of DOTT came with teh official hintbook when I bought it...

Yay, funny one, but IMO the laughters are too loud that covered up the lyrics, I had to read the text file...

Hmmm teh download's always cut off when it's at 1.4MB, I shall try it again...
#7737
In that case the correct code is:

MoveCharacter(GetPlayerCharacter(), mouse.x + GetViewportX(), mouse.y + GetViewportY());
#7738
Update it in repeatedly_execute then.
#7739
Hmmm I never used a walkthrough with Kyrandia...

You can also use overlay, but there're a limit to this, and they're not drawn "permanently" to the screen.
