Actually I was one of those creeps idiots who used it like crazy from the birth of it.

I didn't use it that much recently because I had my computer changed, and I didn't add it as a bookmark in this old new comp.

You're blind because your eyes are dirty! If you have enough faith, you won't be hurt... NO, I never believe in this kind of things!

It indeed work, but you need to copy and paste the link, not clicking it directly. That's because he didn't really used YABB tags for it, it's just converted to a link automatically, which often messes up things. The correct link is:

* Gilbot V7000a wonders if Squinky was ever hurt by the acidic sour sauce...

We Chinese usually use this kind of sauce fo spring rolls and minced beef balls.

How about comparing DOS with Linux, DOSUSER? ;D

Alright, actually there's no point in arguing which OS is better, as each of them has it's good sides and its bad sides, just stick to personal favorite :) .

I'm all for DOS, of course. ;)

Where did you recover the books with a color to create a hotspot?

You should either:
1. draw it directly in AGSEdit, or
2. draw a 256 coloured picture with hotspot areas and import it (which may take some time for newbies to get use to, especially when using those crappy windows programmes, so better experience with 1. first).

Yeah I agree with TK, that lump on his body's a bit suspicious, and it may look odd even if he's a fat man (unless it was SUPPOSED to be a lump ;) ). Another thing that I noticed was the double pixels on some parts of the outlines, since there weren't many such double pixels to make it consistent, so I think they're not intended, so I make a small fix (on the lump and the double pixels):

EDIT: HA, funny with M$ Pain messing up the white background/transparency, I don't want to fix it anymore. :p

Actually that's something I was afraid of, as AA will probably not work (or works poorly) in a 256 colour game if the palette is to be modified within the game, that's why I requested that the option can be locked when creating the game, so the player can never turn AA on.

I'll definately use many palette effects in my game, so I won't bother ppl playing my games asking me silly questions just because AA was turned on.

Luckily it's possible to lock this thing now, so I don't care about it.

But of course, if possible, fixing it would be a good idea, but I think this is a feature provided by Allegro, so it's not CJ who can do much to it.

It's pleurghburg I think.

There isn't many things you can do with it, two of the possible solutions are:
1. Set "wave output" and/or "midi output" to 'none', and see if you can get past that part, you can then save the game and re-enable sound again. (Note that, as midi music was never used in that game, you can always leave "midi output" to 'none'.
2. If you're playing the game at 640x400, try setting the res. to 320x200 (Running it in higher res. didn't do much good anyway, just sometimes the characters may look better when zoomed out and the game will run slower), and see if it worked.

It's recommended that you try out 1 first, then if it won't work, try out 2 or 1&2 both simultaneously. Note that for 2, if you change the res. of the game, there is a chance that you cant load the old save games saved at higher res., ie. you may need to replay from beginning to find out. :p

If none of them works, I'm afraid that you can't do much to it at the moment, as the game was made with an older version of the engine, which might have some annoying bugs.

Yes, you may look at the manual, there is a section called "Text script functions" dedicated to the text script functions. Of course, you may also check out the relating info/tutorial parts of things you want to know (GUI, interactions, etc).
#7772
Of course I know about that, but however, note that backgrounds in rooms were all compressed, just a big area of flat colour won't add much to the file size I can guarantee.
#7773
Yay, time for a new one, I'll lock this then. :)
#7774
Why? drawing your room with proper size and painting teh unwanted area black is good enough IMO.

Oh sorry about that, I'm not talking about you farlander.

It's Quik's photo, it's an 2048 x 1536 image, which was 1.4MB even if it was compressed with JPEG.

Yay! I'm a big fan of Matrices, my research subject is also Matrix Theory!

What? You're talking about some other thing? No, I never watched teh movies!

Why did you post a JPEG image of 1.4MB? Shrink teh original image first!

I've got no websites to work on, no scripts to write and no games to work on (everythings up to date see), so I've just been sitting here loafing all day. How unproductive and boring.

Really? Write "Pee Inducing Frenzy II" NOW!
