Well, after seeing mikko's entry, I decided to make this:

Note that I'm too lazy to make a big one so, depending on your browser, the small images can be misaligned and/or out of sync in frames. I know the speed is a bit fast but I won't go into all the troubles of modifying it anymore.

This is NOT an entry of course.

My opinion is that animation is not madatory, but if you can make good use of the tiling property to make an animation, you may get more scores. ;)
#7883
Yes of course. Actually in some sense, ALL entries can be tiled, but if you can make it looks more interesting after tiling it, you're of course get extra score. ;D

Or at least some upcoming adventure game characters well known to us AGSers, otherwise it's difficult to judge whether the character is a adventure game character or not.
#7885
This time:
Draw a tilable pattern containing an adventure game character in a non-adventure game environment (eg. platform game, etc).

1. The Size must be 40 x 40 pixels
2. No limitation on colours

See an example here:

And see how it's tilable:

--EDIT--
Note the period had been extended, that's just because of the Easter holiday and my browser at home isn't really friendly with the boards here (or I'm just lazy...) :p

Actually if you don't want to spend your time improving it after scanning a pencil image, try to mess around teh brightness/contrast with some tiny graphics programme on it, this can make the content more readible.

I think all those April F00l posts that have REAL contents (like this one) should have their subject changed when 1st April had passed, so to avoid confusions.

* Gilbot V7000a thinks that what ScummyB wrote was an April fool joke actually...

Come on, let him have a rest, he deserves it.

I don't remember well, but it should be something like this:

Spoiler

close the window$ shades first. Read down for more.

Spoiler

You may need something long to close the shades, that's as far as I remember, my memory can be wrong.

Greg was using some really old version of AGS when creating his games, hope he won't need to change much things to make them to work with newer versions.
#7894
Oh then I'll just wait if you will recompile them with newer version.
#7895
Are they the same version as the old ones?

Since I never get shooting gallery to work, I'll try it if it's recompiled.

* Gilbot V7000a tried to avoid this thread, as he was already frightened by the old MI thread, but...

This thread doesn't belong here, move it to Gen. Gen. (or lock it) please!1!

Completed Game Announcements / Re:I LUV EARL
Tue 11/03/2003 08:38:43
Will it be as intriguing as Captain Mostly's games?
#7898
Heh this IS teh announcement forum, I think you meaned the AGS games in production forum. ;)

Hmmm is it the same thing as the one you posted about earlier, or it's an updated (and completed) product?
#7899
Actually that "small screen" in the middle can be viewed as a style, and it looks cool too (probably has a better impact than they're fullscreen).

Furthermore, one thingie about point & clock adventure games is that sometimes a hotspot/edge/object is put too close to the screen edge, making you difficult to click on it (for example in SCI games sometimes it's difficult to click on a spot near the top of the screen without bringing up the ocmmand icon bar). But that way you shrinked the bgs in the middle of the screen, will never have this problem. Good thing.

I'll suggest that if you want, you can make some random animations on the border of teh screen (can enrich it, but NOT REALLY necessary), such as in rare occations, a face pops up from the right edge and yells "YAY" etc.

--EDIT--
HAHAHA point & clock, I won't edit the original words so you can have a good laugh at me. ;D
