Heh I think there aren't any differences in the new releases, they're just compiled with window$ engine of a newer AGS version so more people may be able to play them.

Try to set it to "no sound" and see if it still locks up, if not, then it's prolly some DirectX compatibility problem.

The ones on the screenshot are obviously from Garou: Mark of the Wolves.

I never tried that, but as far as I remember, it's just a game for kids to learn the euro currency (or whatever), I'm not sure if it can be regarded a full game though.

If you find that too hard you can get Adventure Creator 1.00 and make your own adventure. Look for the link in the post "My AGS collection" at the AGS general board
