@Tuomas: Are you using the glasses of your grandpa? I am sure it is very good for the eye health to use random glasses ._.
*buys spectacles from a bazaar*

Anyway, let me upload a recent geek photo of me.

Very nice interview :)
*wonders if he will be reviewed someday*

It looks cool :) Would buy it if I had some internet money.

My vote was to Finland, too. Because I like metal much more than pop. Congrats :)

The AGS PodCasts are finished? :(

Thanks for the comments. About the old man... He was acted by me and it was intentional.

Spoiler
The thing surprised me much more seeing a dead human being was discobering (OMG, I can't believe I typed 'discober')  the similitude between us. Maybe I had got affected by what he told me and saw him looking like me because of that. But even if not physical, it was sure there are lots of common points between me and him.

And this has a reason, but I don't want to give more spoilers.
You are right about the other comments. But I still don't have the music stuttering problem.

Yay, AGS is mentioned there :)
QuoteSome other tools include: GLBasic, and excellent choice for those with programming skills; Unity is Mac-only for development, but will export Windows games; and Cube looks cool, but I haven't had a chance to tinker with it. There's also Adventure Game Studio, Coldstone, and RealBASIC out there.

I have read the article, they may be very helpful (though I knew the things told before as I read that kind of articles occasionally).

Very good suggestions. There are more to add. For example; I would add "anime" style in the graphics. A game like The White Chamber doesn't have got so realistic graphics, but could it be called cartoonish?
And a game may be in some different genres, not a single mysterious or parody.
Anyway; the things to add has got lots of variety. This needs a good discussion.

Thanks for the comments :) I really didn't expect some more people to comment about LitN 2 in AGS boards. The new game is 800*600, while LitN 1 was 320*240; I think it is the reason why it is slower now. Guess I will change the res. because of the slowness and the big file size.

Edit: By the way; I was planning to release it here; but didn't want to necropost.

General Discussion / Re: Da Vinci Code Redux

I have just seen the movie (probably before most of you all; the advantages of the GMT :D ).
I had loved the book.
But I didn't like the movie. It was too short to tell the whole story; I would made it much longer and seperate the movie into two volumes like Kill Bill. All the character descriptions were weak and the important events happen very frequently, like an action film instead of a thirller. I was not any surprised to learn the director of the film had never read the book.

Well, the only thing doesn't change is the changing itself (hope I wrote correct in English ^^).
I felt difficulty to transing into the new version; lots of things were different. Though now I got used to use the new GUI system, etc.; I still use the old type of scripting. [ GUIOn(2); , NewRoomEx(2,120,160); etc.]
I don't think the complexity would be harmful. It's benefits (new possibilities for making new stuff) are more than its harms (newbies finding it hard).

I believe that they are made with Photoshop; it is very easy to make a real photo look like handdraw using the filters.
Anyway; this is certainly not art.

I'm going to use that banner in other forums (that are not about adventure games). Thanks Candle :)

I'm not a supporter of the commercial AGS idea, too.

*Just adding the 1024*768 res. is not enough to make this program to have commercial version. Most people wouldn't want to pay a 20$ to a free tool just to increase the maximum resolution from 800*600. And this may require the commercial version to have some more extra features than the free version. But I don't think such an extra feauture is missing 'now' (you know, modules, plug-ins etc.). But there is a solution for giving more differences between the commercial and free edition: Taking out some features in the free AGS. If there is no scripting option or something like this in the free AGS, then the commercial AGS would be more worth to be paid 20$.
And I don't need to say how silly (and harmful to us, freeware game developers) this idea.

*And my current AGS game, Lost In The Nightmare 2, is 800*600; and I must say that 800*600 is already quite high, I'm thinking of changing it to 640*480 before it is too late (before preparing more rooms without changing their res.). Some of my friends find the game very slow (and the version they were playing was 16 bit, as my game is originally 32 bit). So I don't think 1024*768 is not something so necessary.

Guess I will enter this evening (I was busy with LitN 2, couldn't work for the competition). I will start working now, I hope I can finish it soon.

Yes, we want another Release Something! :D

@Candle: Sorry to hear this :( You use the last version of WinZip (or another zip tool), yeah?
@Rap4Life42o: Thanks for your comments!

Hello all :)
Well, I have started on the production of the sequel of Lost In The Nightmare 1 a few months ago.
It contains a revisioned gameplay, a more emotional/psychological story and photomanipulated backgrounds/characters instead of pre-rendered 3D graphics this time. Yes, real people are acting the characters.
Actually I am not so sure if people would like the photomanipulation technique in such an adventure game (though it looks like the people in Reloaded.org forums liked it, http://www.reloaded.org/forum/index.php?showtopic=916&st=90  ), so I'm releasing this tech demo before giving serious decisions about the game's production.

SCREENSHOTS:

(the last one is not in demo)

STORY
"Existence...
I did hate the existences. If I could; I would want to destroy everything, all the universe. It would be the best for all of us. But I knew it was impossible.

So, the thing I was trying to do (and probably the best thing to do) was creating something new instead of destruction. Building a new world...
Just for me...
And her...
She made me happy and be with me; in one of the worst terms of my short life. And when I find her, I would build a new world for us...

All your moral rules were nothing for me... And I would never mind any danger that could happen to me. But its real reason was neither my over-courage or stupidness, nor the fact I had got nothing to lose. Only reason was the narrowness of my imagination. An imagination far away from the worst nightmares. It was absent in my mind. The thing I didn't know was that; the truth is much wider and painful than our imaginary."

Now we are going to the Karabalta as Berkay Efekan, a teenager boy who had got almost nothing to lose in his life. His father had gone bankrupt and committed suicide a long time ago, and his all the communication between his mother and friends are cut. In this worse term of life, Berkay gets friend with Kardelen, his pretty classmate. They get very close friends together; but someday Kardelen disappears without any clue. Nobody knows where she and her grandmother, who looks after Kardelen since her childhood.
One night, Berkay has a serious argument with his mother, and leaves his home shutting the door. Now he has got only purpose that avoids him to end his own life.
Building a new world...

Production: To be honest, I don't really know when this game will be finished, maybe in 2007 (or 2008's beginnings at worst).

Actings in the demo by me (as Berkay Efekan and more characters), 'Miss Fee' (as Kardelen) and Flávia Biazi Cabral (as Deniz Efekan, Berkay's mother).

Yes, I think I had seen some AGSers in my dreams before (guess including CJ). Though I really don't remember the details.
