I think Malon is a nice name.

News: Well, I couldn't manage releasing the game on the 4th of November as I announced before. But a very big part of Lost In The Nightmare is finished; only game endings remained to do. I'm hoping for releasing the game tonight.
And the game is in the final beta process. If you want to test Lost In The Nightmare, then PM me.

Looks nice :) Good luck.

Silent Hill 2 is one of my favourite games. But I must admit that the gameplay isn't enjoyable; I love SH 2 because of its atmosphere and story. I think SH 2's gameplay should have been like Fahrenheit (a.k.a. Indigo Prophecy), then SH 2 would be a perfect game.

I know it's kinda lame...

AGS Games in Production / Re: Alter Ego

The screenshots look fantastic. It's nice for me to see some other Valve Hammer Editor users in the AGS Community :)

Thanks to everyone :) And it's a good idea, splat44. Guess I will add that thing.

Hello,
A big part of the game is finished, and I'm planning to release it on 4th of November. Here's are some new screenshots which were also showed in Release Something:

But I have a problem: The game takes up more than 85 MB's when it's zipped, and I have no idea where to host it. Could somebody help me for hosting?
And don't forget that the release date is tentative. I hope I can manage finishing the game on that date.

Edit: Guess there was a problem with the screenshots, so I hosted them to ImageShack.

Really nice :) I loved the effects much. I think you should keep on this game.
Spoiler
Does the game ends when we find the stairways to the sea?

Spoiler
If I remember correctly, decaying was simply that you had to repeat the events on the ship over and over again, but in redemption you were finally able to break out of the cycle
[close]

No, you remember wrong the names of the endings.
Spoiler
Damned: It was the name of the ending when we had to live that things on the ship again.
Decayed: It was when we didn't want to "risk spreading the disease", and decide stay in the quarantine. I think it was the scariest ending.

And my opinions about The White Chamber: I think it was a very enjoyable and scary game. It really manages to frighten the players with its atmospehere and graphics.

Art done right at 320x240x32 looks extremely impressive, so you might want to experiment there first. I also tend to find lower resolutions much more immersive - perhaps that's just a personal thing though.
I think so. In my opinion, low res gives an odd, but good kind of atmosphere. Maybe it's because low res reminds the old games of some nostalgie.

General Discussion / Re: AGS Podcasts

It's really a great idea. An emotional part of my mind wants to be interviewed, but the other logical part wants not to be interviewed; because I would get too excited during the interview, and I wouldn't be able to talk well. Especially as English is not my main language, and my pronounciation is too weak.

I recommend you not to use higher than 640*480. Because the file size would increase so much, and people who would download might reduce. So I use 320*240 for my own game.

Quote- Speech views: Lucasarts-style, or Sierra portrait-style? I like the idea of the portraits to show changing expression.
If you like the portrait style, then you should use this.

And we could give more specifical suggestions about the scaling if you post some art.

Hilarious :) If only someone made this kind of interview with me, too.
#716
I'm going to join, too. It's impossible for me to finish Lost In The Nightmare till 30th of October, so guess I'll release something like trailer again.

I have already got an open sourced AGS fight game.

May I join the competition with this entry? I will edit the game according for the rules; for example, I will add some instructions how to make a game over the source code.

Now there's a good way to kill your grandfather. That is if you necessarily need to do so.
A good advantage of this Flash game :)

Don't read this if you haven't watched it yet:
Spoiler
Damn, it was scary! Though I wasn't scared too much, because I had seen this kind of things before.
Also have you realised this: The background voice of Britney is too low, so you will increase your computer's volume. And then...
