General Discussion / Re: Play your own games?
Tue 10/08/2004 00:11:44
I play my own games since they're action/adventure or arcade games (like Frogger style street crossing games. ).

It looks nice :) I like Cthulhu. Good luck  8)

I've just finished the game (Thanks Al :) ). It was nice. But IMO;
*The musics could be more horrible.
*There isn't any music while we are killing the Welder in the space. Though it was the end of the game...
*The ending was a bit disappointing.

But it is a great games, though :).
P.S:Isn't it illegal to use Half-Life's sound files without permission?

Zor, I know how to rip sounds (or other files) from Half-Life. You need the program called QPed or PakExplorer. You must open the pak0.pak file in the "/valve" folder.

But I wonder something: Isn't it illegal to use the sound files for our freeware games without permission? I want to use them for my game, too. Hope it is legal...

Hello again :)
I couldn't work on my game project for a while; because I had just upgraded my PC and played the games like Max Payne 2, Silent Hill 2/3 which I couldn't play before (because of my old system). But I'll hang on the game now  8)

How about this?

Ã,  Ã, Hey, Frankie Goes to Hollywood! I liked it :) It was a great game. I was playing it when I was 6-7. I didn't know English in that times, so I couldn't understand the texts. I guess there was a murderer in that house.
Ã,  Ã, I've found an emulation of that game, but it doesn't run. Damn... :(

Hey, also I'm working on a horror game, too. It's Lost In The Nightmare (you can see more info at http://www.agsforums.com/yabb/index.php?PHPSESSID=c694820d77a138788fa6e476f453ff0bopic=12864.0. and my signature.

It is hard to tell my problem;
I have just upgraded my PC, and started using Windows XP instead of Windows 98. There is a problem with the midi music files. Well, they can run, but they sound very different (and bad) than they were on Windows 98. The instruments are all different from the old ones, and they sound too strange. For example in this one;
http://www.vgmusic.com/music/console/sony/ps2/AloneInTown.mid
It sounds bad now in XP, but it was good in 98. The percussions were like real, but now they sound like a pencil hitting on a table.
I hope I could tell my problem, and this topic is suitable for here.
Thanks :)

No, it won't be an action/adventure game for now. But it used to be an action/adventure game in the beginning. I have removed the action scenes from the game, because it sucked (You were trying to shoot (or click) a static monster, which doesn't move, in 1-2 seconds; and it was really boring). I'll remove that screenshot

No, I didn't. I've never been to NY. (But hope someday I go there and be able to take that photo.)

What about this?:

Yes, this isn't the original version of the first one. But it's better, IMO.

Do you think this room looks too empty? Should I add more furnitures?

Looks like the Negative Image filter to me... Nothing impressive.
Yes, it is negative image. But I have also made some modification with the colour balance, and added cloud effects.

I'll try to upload a bigger size of the NYC pic.

Yes, there are lots of person who has got Max Payne style hair cut :) Glad you liked it.
#978
I've modified them with Adobe Photoshop.

Ã,  Ã, Yes, I've tried that link before; but I couldn't reach the archives of the old issues.(got an error message.)
Ã,  Ã, I have an entry for the Feb. MAGS (but it was a rotten game, because I hadn't much time to work on it.) , and I wonder if it was reviewed.
