Thanks Mandle and Vertigoaddict!  I'm super excited at how many people are joining too, and all of your art looks awesome! :)  This is gonna be a great competition!

I work outdoors for a living and I'm sitting inside right now while rain pours down, making the game on my laptop.  Woo creative momentum!

Thanks Wham, you too!  Art is my suckiest skill, and I admire the hell out of people who can actually draw with pixels and real arty skills.  That's why I build vector puppets and color with textured clipping masks...it's the only way I can squash and push things into shape. :)  Still, it beats the heck out of the Paint Shop Pro 7 gradients I used on *everything* when I was an AGS newbie 9 or 10 years ago, cringe-lol.  Can't wait to see your game!

If it helps, I saw your post and went, "Oh carp, Ponch is joining.  I'm gonna loooose." :)

This is the kind of background/character art you'll all be seeing in my upcoming entry, tentatively titled "Sirenity".  I'm going for a pop-up, cutout book type feel:

I found a problem...just downloaded AGS 3.3.4, started a new game with the Verb Coin template, and found out I couldn't make cEgo walk by left-clicking.  It'll still obey cEgo.Walk commands in the script, but even with the Walkable Area covering the entire room, cEgo wouldn't move from mouse clicks.  Crimson Wizard assisted and verified that you can copy in an older version of the template and it'll still work.  Apologies if it was already found and I just missed it in the previous pages.  Thanks!

Sweet!  Thanks a bunch for the help, sorry it had to be for a breakage.  This game is for MAGS so losing hours trying to figure it out was making me pull out my hair. :)  I'll report it in the thread, thanks again!

Thanks for replying. :)  I figure it's some incredibly obvious detail I'm overlooking, and I'll smack my forehead once someone spots it.

I've messed around a bit in the meantime, trying to test fixes.  It's now room 10: Xiope's Cliff.  When run, it'll pause for 2 seconds, then make her walk through the full-screen walkable area.  After that, nothing happens when you left-click, though the verb coin still works in all other ways.

I appreciate your help!

I just created a new game using Electroshokker's Verb Coin template.  Plugged in my own sprites for cEgo and a background for Room 1, then paint-bucket filled Walkable Area 1 for the entire room.

But when I left-click, cEgo won't move.  I tried a cEgo.Walk command in the script, set for WalkableAreas, and she moved just fine.

I've gone back and started completely fresh just to make sure I didn't turn on/off some setting...even booted up a game made for the previous AGS version with the exact same template, and that character walks around fine.  Any idea what's going on?

Sounds good!  I'll be taking the plunge. :)

*pokes his head up from a nearby grave*

I still tell people how this game so effectively creeped me out that when

my actual CD player on my actual computer popped out, just like the one in-game

Looks neat!  I made up my own version of the Aluminati years ago, so I gift this catchphrase to you if you can use it..."We foil our own plans!"

Definitely a cool game, and I was really enjoying it, right up until-

Spoiler
the fight scene when I entered the temple.  I'm a speed reader and uber-fast typist, and there still wasn't enough time to read the instructions and react, if I didn't already know what I needed to type in advance.  I replayed the fight scene four times, then gave up and quit the game when I'd gotten as far as typing "lef" and got killed.  And no option to save my game means I'd have to start over from scratch if I want to play again.

Otherwise, the graphics were really entertaining, especially the whooshing around, and it made me laugh.  Good job!

I just grabbed up the first in-game character position!  ;D  This looks awesome, I can't wait to hold my steamy, naughty little copy in my nervous, first-timer hands!

C'mon, pitch in everybody, we can make this game happen!

Thank you so much for this game, Ponch!  It's full of awesomey goodness!  Is there any chance a walkthrough will be released soon?   Because I am very stuck. :)

Spoiler
I've got the rat poison, but can't figure out how to kill the rats with it, since I don't know how to make it stronger.

I've got the cheeseburger, but Elvis wants a Long Haul, and I don't remember what that is, and no one can tell me. :)

Out of curiosity, was there something else I could do with the racing chicken besides return it to the cow?

These were posted years ago, when I was a different person... :)

Only one of the bunny trophies from the Kill the Bunny animation competition I hosted survived:

(Um, ignore the other two, I just copied this from the winner's trophy bar. :) )

But here are all three from the Rebus edition of the Quizzening I hosted:

And last, this thing, that I think I made myself after winning a trophy-less comp for something or other:  :)

I think I may have won one or two others that are lost to time.  Happy memories. :)

I don't think anyone reported this yet, but I'm stuck right near the beginning from an apparent glitch...

Spoiler
I'm in the 24/7 shop, Handy just led me downstairs, and now...there's nothing I can do.  I've looked, touched and talked to everything in the room, I've got the cup and the key and tried them on everything, and nothing happens.  I also can't leave, since Handy's blocking the stairs.  Is this a puzzle I'm just not getting or an error?  Please help, I really want to play more! :)

I am *seriously* loving this game...I'm really picky about storylines and dialogue, and I'm not a big fan of sci-fi, and you've got me totally hooked anyways!  The plot and dialogue move forward really smoothly, everything is really well-written.  You slip in the technology of your universe seamlessly, without holding up the game to over-explain.  I can't wait to play it all the way through!

Unfortunately, :)  I've hit a game-freezing bug, and  because I couldn't save, I'm going to have to start over from the beginning.  But I will, because I really believe it'll be worth it!

Spoiler
In the transit station scene, when your partner is climbing the tower for backup, you can hit F5 to bring up the Save GUI.  When it cuts back to Regis talking to the bomber, the GUI stays up, but greys out the controls.  You can continue dialog for a few seconds, then the game stops.  I know not a lot of people may try this, but I did because I was worried I'd make the wrong choice and die, so I wanted to save. :)

Also, during the opening title of the game, you can TAB open your inventory and select the pocketknife.
