AGS Games in Production / Re: Rogue State
Thu 18/12/2014 11:58:57
Very nice looking game - that background which was in Critic's Longue, looks a lot better now(though it was nice in pixel art as well)!

It reminds me a lot of the Democracy games (with Democracy 3 being the latest). Were you inspired by it? Or, if not you should check it out, since you might find some useful or interesting ideas, since it is also a game about being a politician.

Since so many of you Blue Cuppers replied to this thread (I didn't expect it honestly), I feel obliged to respond!
I wanted to leave ags, or anything connected to it and video games, since I was too obsessed about game ideas and designs and it obstructed me in whatever I thought, or did. I thought I wouldn't have enough time, also to dedicate myself to making games because of the serious studying I was supposed to do. BUT, I realized I was wrong, and that I have a plenty of time, also I couldn't stop thinking about adventure games in any way, so I came back.
Thanks Ghost, for the coolest blue cup, here one for everyone who was nice to me in this thread!  :=
:) ;) :) ;-D :-D ;-D 8-) 8-) :P :) 8-) 8-) ;-D (laugh)

The Rumpus Room / Goodbye AGS!
Sun 21/09/2014 23:01:33
I just wanted to say that I am taking a break (a big one) from AGS (forums and the game engine).

I had a great experience developing games with AGS, and I managed to finish one this year.
My head was full of ideas, and I never managed to finish anything. My head is still full of ideas and that is not good! Mostly because a few days ago my life became more serious than I ever thought it would become.
I met a lot of very nice and friendly people and friends, and I had a wonderful time.
Unfortunately, Baron, you will have to cut me out of the group somehow. Sorry for causing difficulties. :/

Goodbye Adeel and Gurok.
Goodbye AGS... I might return some day... or a decade... :~(

PS. AprilSkies and JimReed made a great racing game, with mind blowing HD graphics! Check it out, when it gets released! :=

The backgrounds look really cool and indie! Good luck on your project! :)
The plot sounds intriguing as well.

I've completed the game, and I liked the unique art style!
I have one complaint though:
Spoiler
the first puzzle where you have to find the list was too hard. I was randomly clicking on the screen for 5 minutes to find the list

This game is amazing! I'm a real fan of Sherlock Holmes and I was really surprised by how good this game is. More people should play this! (nod)

My opinion about some things
Spoiler
I enjoyed the crime solving part a lot more than the psychological journey of the protagonist. I feel like the game would be better if it had more of those puzzles then his personal troubles. Although, the whole game is based around that and it is very well done.

It reminds me a bit of Monk (the television series), who also has very personal problems of his own, but at the same time is an investigator, and solves crime mysteries via deduction method like Sherlock Holmes.
Well done, Domithan!

Thanks for hints Mandle! I'll try to do it with just mild hint. :-D

EDIT: I did it just with mild hint. :cheesy:

Now I'm stuck
Spoiler
in the room with the black bottomless pit, I've opened all other doors and I have 7 ravens.

EDIT: Never mind I solved it on my own! (laugh)

Hints & Tips / Deadly consequences!
Sat 30/08/2014 20:16:00
I'm stuck! I feel as if I tried everything, although there is probably something I missed.
Spoiler
I still haven't managed to open door 11,4 and 6, I don't know what to do with killer balloons in room 9, still haven't solved room 8 with the light bulb. I don't know how to get past the door in the dark room.
My inventory: cutters, probably unusable blocks(0,1,3,4). puncture repair kit, train book(I've solved the train puzzle), lead, crossbow, brandy and candle. I have 3 black ravens.

Personally, I even get more motivated to finish my game when I become depressed, because I know I will fell happier and as if I had done something when I finally finish it. Try to think this way, it might work!

Hi Jack,
just wanted to say that your game sounds intriguing! Because of the unusual perspective for an adventure game, it reminds me a lot of Dreamweb.
Good luck on your project! :)

Is it Rise of Nations? I don't remember Empire Earth looking like that, which is a very similar game and I played it a lot more than Rise of Nations.

Oddly enough, I think you should remove the table and sofas, and instead put a giant circular carpet with a symbol on it. It makes the president feel even more superior to everyone else in the room.

(in case you don't see the picture click HERE)

Or you could just move both sofas and the table, somehow, more to the sides of the room. Make them angled towards the desk, and pushed against the walls.

There is this AGS-made game, which story I really enjoyed: How they found silence
I really liked Sepulchre, because after I played it, I felt as if I had read a quality story or a movie.
In the end, my favorite AGS games are Yahtzee's Chzo Mythos games, since they inspired me to actually use AGS. I JUST WANTED TO GO INTO SPAAAACE! :=

Great video! This is the first time I hear of this author, and unfortunately there are no translations of his works on my native language, but if I ever get a chance to read it on English(or some other language) I definitely will. ^ ^

AGS Games in Production / Re: Providence
Wed 06/08/2014 12:25:24
Hello,
I would like to say that this game looks aesthetically beautiful (from the video and the screenshots), and even more due to the fact that it's graphics are to be accompanied by subliminal and melancholic melodies of the man himself, Chopin. I feel, though, that the "prelude" in the video is played a bit too fast for my taste! (but it is just my opinion, it might be even better if played this way, if it is a thriller, as you said)
I would also like to wish you good luck on finishing the project!
