Don't worry folks, now that AP exams are over, I can dedicate my full time and effort to my game. So far things seem to be going swimmingly (get it?), and hopefully I'll have some stuff to post in the next couple of days. Listening to lots of "Aquatic Ambience" and "Dire Dire Docks" to get inspired!

It is on like!

Or maybe more like?

Please note my game will not actually involve Donkey Kong.

Haha, I remember seeing this when I was but a lurker. It's a really cool idea, and I wish I could offer more than my support, but it's far above my coding skills. I'd be happy to help in whatever way I can if the project gets going again: track design, beta testing, art, whatever's useful.

I know a guy who ran in the marathon today. Hope he's alright...

The worst part of it is, it was the families and cheering crowd that seemed to have gotten the most hurt. :(

Love the new trailer! Can't wait to play the game!

(Though I'm afraid all the soccer jokes fly right over my head, I'm more of a squash guy myself!  :-D)

Because (if I remember rightly) Sam & Max was something that Steve Purcell and his brother drew, and one day for some reason his brother got fed up with it and gave all rights to Steve.  (I think they were still kids at the time.)  He kept going with it and, well, now the Freelance Police are legendary!

Well, let's hope that it doesn't take something like that for Reons to succeed! Have no fear we're both quite invested in the series!  (nod)

Anyway, we should be posting a new comic in the coming days, so if you like this one, we'll be sure to update!

Reon Quest... the next Sam & Max?  Has one of you given / sold eternal rights of it to the other?!

Next Sam and Max? Well one can dream...  ;) Perhaps if we keep at it! We've already got a comic and an episodic adventure game series, so we're on our way!

Well in the nitty gritty, we each own the rights characters that we created, but if one of us were to quit and take our characters with them, the series would be pretty much fractured/ruined. Just curious, why do you ask?

Believe it or not, the Reon Quest universe is actually derived from a series of comics my cousin and I have been drawing for quite some time now (that's why it's so developed and filled with complex and thought provoking characters  :P). We just started updating our website with some of our favorite comics we've done over the years, and I thought you guys might be interested in seeing them, seeing as you've become familiar with the Reon World through the couple of games that I've made. Anyway, without further ado, here is:

Reon Comic #1: Draco 4 President!

...and for those of you who don't want to click a link

Sorry, the images are super huge due to scanning, etc.

...anyway if you guys want, I can keep updating this thread with our latest comics. It'll be awhile 'till Episode 3 is ready to showcase, so I guess this could help fill that Draco shaped void we know you're all harboring in your hearts!  :-D

Congrats Ponch! The game was a real Steamroller!

I don't think it's that big a problem.  Your games are reaching people that may never have heard of AGS.

While that is true, I'd rather be in control of who is distributing my work. Plus, if we allow them to take our work without even asking for permission, it seems like it sets up a bad precedent.

It's not the end of the world, but I personally would feel more comfortable if my games were only on websites that I give permission to host them. At the end of the day that's only my opinion. Others are free to do what they want.

Bah, I asked these people to take my games down last month. They did, but looks like they've put them back up again without asking. I'd be less inclined to be angry if they bothered asking first, but as it stands they're siphoning off downloads from our AGS Pages, not to mention making money off our games.

I'm asking them to take my games back down, and I'd encourage others to do the same.

They can be contacted at gameseditor@softpedia.com in case anyone agrees with me.

Wow thanks for taking the time to write all of that feedback! Really glad you enjoyed the game  :-D

Thanks for all the kind words guys! If you get a chance, we'd really appreciate it if you gave the game a rate as well, but no pressure!

Captain D: Thanks man! Hope you enjoy the game, and all goes well for Team Disaster as well!

Pitabread: Thanks for playing! And don't worry, Episode 3 will be here before you know it!

m0ds: Hope you like it! We never would've been able to finish it without your help, so thanks again!

The Suitor: Words like that are what keeps us making these games! Thanks again for helping us test!

I have a question: I noticed there's a gray status bar at the top of the screen, visible on every screenshot. Do you really use it, or just forgot to remove? I ask because it comes with Default game template, and I never seen people actually use it in games.

It's intentional, if you scroll your mouse to the top of the screen, it opens up into the Walk, Look, Touch, Talk, Pocket, Save, etc... buttons. It to keep the GUI from interfering with the screen too much. The border even changes color depending on who you're playing as!

General Discussion / Re: Gameboy Advance
Fri 25/01/2013 04:29:50
Ohhh boy did I love my GBA. Though the DS managed to top it, the GBA was a serious handheld powerhouse.

Particular Favorites:

Pokemon R/S/E (Also my first Pokemon games. Is there anything more magical than a childhood Pokemon game? When everyone in your school is playing, battling, and collecting. I'd never go to anyone's house without a link cable in hand. Man, those were the days...)

Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga (Another great RPG. Man this game was hilarious. Poor Luigi, always getting strung along!)

Sonic Advance 2 (Probably my favorite of the Sonic handheld titles. Though it didn't really recapture what made Sonic 1-3&K great, it was still a really fun breakneck platformer)

Super Mario Advance: Super Mario Bros. 2 (A Mario game where you can play as Luigi, Toad, and the Princess? Sign me up! I particularly loved playing this one with a friend of mine on my GameBoy player so we could switch off every life.)

Super Mario Advance 3: Yoshi's Island (I know some of these aren't technically original GBA games, but I was too young to ever get a SNES so this was my first exposure to many of these classic platformers. Yoshi's Island remains my favorite of the bunch to this day)

Mario Golf: Advance Tour (A really neat golf/RPG hybrid, that actually gave me much more playing time than I expected. Still one of my favorite Mario sports titles)

Well, those are the ones off the top of my head. I'm sure there's more though, I've got quite a large collection of cartridges somewhere or another.
