Man, wish I could've entered this one too.  :( I had the "Adventures of Randall Roach" all planned out in my head! I will be entering one of these one of these days, mark my word!

Hey Ponch, have you ever seen the movie "Bob and Doug Mckenzie in: Strange Brew"? If there's a reference to that somewhere in your game you will officially be my hero. If not... take off, ya hoser!

It's tough being new. Sometimes looking back on things we've said or done can make us cringe, but it's not worth agonizing over. Learn from the past and look to the future is what I say.

Well, it took longer than expected, but...

things are really starting to come together! Now we're looking for some beta testers to help us make sure everything's looking good for the final release of the game sometime in January! PM or check out this thread me if you're interested!

Thanks!

Thanks Ghost, works like a charm!

Hey guys,

I'm trying to design a nice looking credits sequence, but am not entirely sure how to go about it. Basically in the center of the screen, I have pictures that flash by, and on either side, I was hoping to have words fade in and out like this

|VOICE ACTING: _______________________PICTURE_______________________ PROFESSOR TOR COOLGUY|

(wait five seconds)

|QA TESTING: _______________________NEW PICTURE____________________ MY MOM                |

*EDIT*: That is not any sort of attempt at code above, just a visual representation of what I was envisioning :P

etc...

It's really the words fading in and out that I'm not sure how I should go about.

Does anyone know of a good tutorial for drawing walkcycles up and down? (i.e. towards the player and away)

All the ones I could find were side-to-side.

Thanks!

I also agree this is a cool idea. It's like Adventure Game Book Club in a way. As someone who's new to game desgin this sort of thing is always really helpful. I haven't played 5DAS, and I'm not sure that I will have the time to in the next couple of weeks (thanks, exams.) but I just wanted to stop in and support the thread.

Keep on nitpicking!

Huzzah! Good news! We here at Slug4Brains Studio are happy to welcome the musical m0ds and his friend Simon aboard the project! These two have most graciously taken up Grant's mantle and are finishing up the soundtrack. Here's a sample of their work, this theme plays when visiting Draco's family in the forest(and admiring their impressive trophy case)!

So, while all this has been going on, I've been working on polishing and improving other aspects of the game. Take for example the Solitary Confinement wing.

What was once this...

...is now this!  8-0

Please, please, try to hold your applause ;)

Anyway, we're shooting to release by the end of November, so get your pickaxes ready, because it'll be jailbreak time before you know it!

Oh man, what a cool theme! I'm taking a Mystery and Detective Fiction course right now, and we just read a book that would be perfect for this! But alas, since I can't use my already-made Reon assets, I don't think I'll have time to enter.

Props for the theme though!

The feet should not be left-right-left-right; the dance goes left-right-left-left, right-left-right-right :P

Ahh! The shame! Psy would be so disappointed  :(

I'm afraid the gif maker I used only allows 10 frames, so I can't really fix it. But if I ever use it in a game, rest assured I will not fail!

Hah, had some time on my hand, thought I'd whip up a little animated tribute to Psy. (Sorry about the white background... was too lazy to get rid of). Might try to make the rest of the dance, and make it an easter egg in a later episode of Reon Quest :D

Ayyyyyyyyyyyy, piles of laundry!

O-o-o-Oppa Dumbang Style!

Fun stuff! I agree that hotspots should either be labelled or blatantly obvious. For example, it took me far too long to figure out you could click on the leather seats (though I could just be a dolt, who knows).

Looking forward to an even MEATIER adventure from you!

Get it? Meaty? Because it's about burgers... and it also means a longer game... and...

I'll just go sit in a corner now.

Well, the reason I asked is because I just played an AGS game on my Macbook by simply downloading/opening a file so I figured there was a way to port games onto Mac, though it seems this may be a bit beyond my technical skill level...  :-\
#76
I'm really sorry to sound uninformed, but, what exactly do I do with the link you provided? Is there a file I need to download?

Sorry about the hassle...
#77
Sorry if this is the wrong place for this... feel free to ship me off to somewhere else if that's the case...  :-[

Anyway, I was wondering if there was any way to change the .exe file AGS give you to work on a Mac without having to use a program like the one found here. (Though it does run the game, the sound doesn't work properly and the framerate suffers greatly). If there is any way to just make a file that can be downloaded and run immediately on Macs, could someone inform me how to do such?

Thanks in advance!

I enjoyed that quite a bit! That little cat sure is wily...  :-D

I never actually beat the game, but the first and only time I finished this level in TMNT for NES:

Hah, that made me think of this video

As for me, strangely enough I go really hardcore in Sonic games. My biggest achievement was getting all 180 emblems in SA2B, man it literally took me like a year. You had to MASTER that game, from the rage inducing randomness of Mad Space to the cruel glitchiness of Final Chase to the mind numbing tedium of the Chao garden. But at least you unlock a really cool 3D remake of Green hill zone (NOTE: This was far before generations existed).

I was also #4 in the world on the Xbox leaderboards for Seaside Hill Act 2 in Sonic Generations though that was last year and it could've changed by now (wish I still had a pic, but my cell phone was stolen in Italy :().

Something about those games just makes me want to replay them to mastery...
