OK, I will check out apprentice. By any chance, could you show me a bit of the code you used to make it slide?

Hey Pumaman, been a while since I axed(I Know its spelled wrong) you for a feature.

I really needed a few simple features.

Two are GUI involved.

*Add an option for the GUI to slide in from a certain area to a certain point on screen.  EG: Slide in from right bottom coordinates of the screen to the top left coordinates of the screen. Maybe there could be a script command and an option in the GUI editor.

*I needed a way to make a button invisible in the GUI after a certain amount of time. So I was hoping you could modify a bit "SetButtonPic" to do the following: Maybe you can add a 0 WHICH Parameter  for null and for SLOT, if you put -1, it would make the button disappear and it wont be even clickable. If you put -2, it would still keep the last image it had, but it would just disable it. Sort of how VB works.

Just those two suggestions would do.

For #8 I thought AGS wont let you save the script if there is an error in it. But I could be wrong. I know it wont compile if there is an error.

I am sure most of you here know what "The Crows Nest" is. I just recieved an e-mail from the head moderator there.

He has asked me to post news regarding any new games that are released from AGS.

The Website serves for purposes just like that. So if anyone has know problem, all new games released or being worked on will most likely be announced there unless told not to.

Also the moderator has encouraged me to ask you all to register all your adventure projects at the Crows nest.

If your interested the site is here: http://www.trumgottist.com/crowsnest/index.php

Completed Game Announcements / Re:Pilot Light

WOW Great Game! I would compare it to being just as good as Larry Valles and Rob Blanc as far as story goes.

I like the Story. The graphics are great. You got a unique style that I like a lot.

Out of 10, I give this game an 11, just becouse this was your first game.

Just a few suggestions:

Background music would enhance the game a lot. AS well as footsteps sounds.

The puzzles were to easy. I finished the game in less than an hour. You might want to try and make a future game longer and more difficult to get trhough.

But, I hope I didn't discourage you. You made an awesome game. Which is more than I have to say for myself.

I apologize, but I was just asking the author if he needed help translating the game from Italian to English since I can speak both languages.

I also told him that I helped convert the new adventures of Zak McKracken into Italian.

I was writing it in Italian to demonstrate that I could speak and write it well.

AGS Games in Production / Re:PQ2 Remake
Mon 15/09/2003 21:12:00
Cool! I always wondered why Sierra never remade that game. It was probably the best one.

Yeah, do what your doing..

A suggestion, add Dialogs so that you can actually talk to another character and find out more information.

Get rid of the aligning of your gun, I think that is so dumb.

Keep the Text parser or else add lots of buttons and commands in your gui. Or you can actually keep both like in LSL7.

Is there anyway we can see a screeny?

I would use ripped sprites, but I hate to have to do that extra work, and not only that, I dont think the Images would work well with my 3d game.

Any suggestions?

Thanks for your replies.

I might not be able to render Godzilla into the game becouse I am just not that good at 3d yet, but I will try to maybe take a clip from Godzilla 1985 where he is either fighting Super X or taking down a building or something. Just for the fans.

JD
#1097
Actually he's more like 300 feet... ;D

I couldn't animate him, so I made a room inside a building where you have to escape.  But you do hear his roar every few seconds in the background.

One other detail I forgot to mention, this game will have voice!

Escape from Godzilla (Godzilla 1985)

This game takes place during the movie "Godzilla 1985" Which takes place 30 years after his first appearance. I wanted to make a game that wouldn't take too long to do, and I wanted to use 3D graphics in my game.

This is a fan game that I have made. I am a big fan of Godzilla. Although the latest movies that have been released are all dumb, but there were a few good ones. The original Godzilla or Gojira is my favorite as it is not stupid at all. Godzilla 1985 comes in at second. Godzilla VS Destroyah is third. I think those are the 3 greatest movies for Godzilla, as they have some solid and interesting plot lines.

You will not actually see Godzilla in this game, although you will hear his voice. If any of you have seen the movie "Signs" with Mel Gibson, you'll notice that I tried to capture a certain feel that the movie had, which was that you knew what was going on outside, but you didn't see it. You were concentrating at the task at hand, which was to board the house up and protect the family. I did the same with this game, where you know Godzilla is there, but you dont see him. Instead you try to manage an escape from a building.

Story:

Hiyoki Matsumeio is trapped in a building. He was put there by a famous Japanese gang known as the "Gold Dragons". As a police detective, he seeked to put an end to this gang once and for all. He was captured and brought here to this building. Knowing that Godzilla was attacking Tokyo, they left him there to meet his doom when Godzilla would arrive to those coordinates.

They told him that they were going to kill his wife and son after the whole mess with Godzilla cleared out and things went back to normal.

You cringe at the idea of what they would do to your family. You need to get out of here before Godzilla tramples you and before something terrible happens to your family.

Game Play:

You have 3 minutes to mix and match all the items in the room in order to get out of there. If you don't make it out, Hiyoki and family will die.

The game already has the puzzles designed already. Its a short puzzle, enough to end the game in 3 minutes. I already have the walk animation of my character, 30 frames walking in each direction. That took a while to do.

Now I just need to make the room, which is almost done, I just got to texture it and decide what angle I am gonna use, and how much lighting there should be.

After that, I am making the intro movie, and the 2 end movies. When I am done with that, it will be Released as Chapter 1 of this game.

I am gonna compress the movies into DIVX format, which will save a lot of space and upload/download time. If anyone prefers me not to use DIVX, let me know.

This game is being made in Poser 2 and Blender 2.28. I design my characters in Poser, and then I desing my objects like desks and hair in Blender (Some objects are of course already done and were just taken off the web).  I import all the objects to Poser and design my room in there, as it is easier to do it that way, especially with the animation tools it provides.

Again, dont worry about the Simpsons game, it is still being developed. This is just a mini side project. I just want to release a game badly. I have only been here like what?... Since the first release of this engine more than 3 years ago I think...

I appreciate that, but there is still much work to do to make it good though. I hope I succeed. Once I am done with the game, I am also releasing a template with all the rooms, sprites and graphics for everyone to use. Just thought I would add that.

Here is an Idea, interview the creators of Indy and the last crusade and fate of atlantis, and see what they think of FOY.
