At work on my lunch break.

Wow. Nice job. Anyway you can get that to work along with the character? It just doesn't seem right that the character doesn't have the same effect happen to him.
#604
Its due on the 26th, isnt it?
#605
LOL. Its easier to make websites...

Besides that I am still working on something for MAGS.

Some men just dont have time for it. Particularly married men.  :P

Why not make your own webdesign instead of using a free template? Right now it seems really unprofessional and downright boring. And since you're using Joomla and have been working on this for so long I don't really see a reason for why there's no content on there yet.

The template is a place holder for now. I am playing around with other templates. And eventually I will make my own template. Kind of think of the process as this way:

1) First you build the house (The website and its features)
2) You move all the furniture in (The content)
3) You get tenants (Users)
4) When you have enough friends who can help, you remodel. (Users willing to offer graphical support so I can change the look of the website).

How did you manage to break Joomla anyhow? :P It's a CMS! You shouldn't have to worry about the tech side of it, that's the whole point! The title image with the trees is wrongly scaled by the way. At least in Firefox. It looks really ugly like that.

I changed it back to a more professional template, which I will edit. Regarding how I broke it? Well, You have to remember that Joomla uses user made modules and components. Some are buggy. So I decided to fix them myself. Some I fixed, others I made worse.  :-\ Also I have been creating my own modules and components to work with Joomla. Code that I started from scratch. For instance, the module that tells you how many messages you have, or the memberlist component... Those were both created by me and need a little tweaking.

I won't register since nothing on the website suggests it's worth it yet. Keep working on it though, I believe it's gonna be a fairly good website once you get it cleaned up!

It will have lots of downloads at first, I can tell you that. I have tons of cd's with tons of stuff thats hard to find on the internet such as Maker R1, EdPack, Older AGS versions, AGAST, SCI Studio, etc...

Thanks for the feedback guys.

OK, so the site design is almost done. I am gonna use the current template I have as I feel it really makes the whole site look adventure gamey..

I relocated some certain menu items.

Now the site is a true Social Networking site for adventure Games. I have social tools which basically makes it feel like facebook does. I have Adventure Profiles setup and Forum Profiles. And its all connected together. I edited the Private messaging code to work the way I wanted it to. And now we also have a member list page which we didn't before.

Not to mention that I did some clean up.

Check out the new design, tell me what you think and keep on watching for more updates. Remember, to get the full effect of the site, you must register and log in.

Dr. Who!!!

Oh wait... Never mind.
#609
Yeah, I am working on getting some content for the site. But before I did that I wanted to make sure it worked. A lot of the functions of the site just are broken and need fixing. Once thats done, I can really add some cool stuff.

Please check out this site right here: http://www.adventurestockpile.com

I started a thread a while back on this here:
http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/yabb/index.php?topic=37647.0

But I wanted to start a new thread being that the old one would cause confusion with this request.

I updated the design. Next week it will be a new design. And I will keep doing this every week. Since this is a site for you guys, test out the various themes over the next few weeks. See which you like.

Also remember, not everything will be 100% running and functional. I am still working on the function of the site. You may need to register to get the full effect of the site. Let me know what you think of this design. Thanks guys.

#615

You can create a rather playable game in AGS with practically no scripting skills.

As for this Visionaire...I say go ahead and buy it if you feel tempted. There are no finished games to try out, and the community doesn't seem very big or very active, so I would probably wait a bit myself.

Zak McKracken 2 (The big one) was created with Visionaire.
#617
OK, well, I am gonna try and give this one a shot I guess.
#618
Well... AGS is free for one thing. Visionaire does not support scripting (I dont think) while AGS doesn't support easy game making (Meaning you cant create a game without scripting). Those are the big differences to me.

You should only post in one spot. Here is a manual for the module: http://americangirlscouts.org/agswiki/Flashlight

I actually cant wait to hear what the next Contest is about. I think I need to bite the bullet and try making a game.
