This is awesome. My linux box is not up yet. Only using ubuntu live cd. Its a hassle to install external stuff. Once its up I will try it.

ES: The source cant be ported to MAC? I thought that most of the code for Linux would be pretty accessible and compiled in MAC. I could be wrong though.

Cool Artwork! Keep it up!
#643
OOOOOOHHHHH. Awesome. Will try it out on my linux box. Any knowledge in porting to Mac and Pocket PC?????
#644

#645

#646

Joseph : Thank you for your interest :)
It will be a bit long this time because I draw everything myself, but I will post some screenshots during the making. And I am currently working on some translations.

A sequel ? Well... sounds interesting  ;D
In fact, I have another project for my little Shai-la. Another game with another gameplay, not really a sequel then. With 100% custom graphics this time (and perhaps music if I can).

A drawing I have made only with the mouse, for testing :

Cool... I cant wait till you start that one...

Engine Development / Re: AGS Wii Port?
Mon 18/05/2009 21:10:00
Iphone, Wii and DS are far shots in porting. I think Linux, Mac and Windows Mobile are the best ways to port AGS. Especially WM. It has a compact version of .NET and should be the easiest to port as far as handheld systems go. But I think the only way AGS can truly become portable is by replacing Allegro with SDL or by coming up with a custom graphics library alltogether.

Thank you! Also, keep in mind its a work in progress, so it will look undone and empty until more users are signed up, more downloads are available and some better graphics are present.

Thanks man!

I have been working on a site for an all-adventure community. This site is mainly for finding downloads and archiving great software and all software in general related to Adventure Games. But its biggest feature is the social aspect of it and the development aspect of it. The site is a great portal for finding resources that will help in your game development and a great resource for finding the latest news and stuff. The site is a work in progress. But I need your help. I need you to check out the site and tell me what you think of it, what you would like to see/ what improvements I need to make and what would have you all keep coming to the site as a main Adventure resource site.

For now let me tell you the main features it has:

General site features:
You can translate the site into several languages.
You can bookmark the site to Google, yahoo, twitter, etc...
You can search the site.
Awards and Hall of Fame. HOF coming soon.
Store-- Coming soon.

Social features:
Forum
An IRC type chat engine built into the site itself.
Private Messaging
Users have a personal page
Users can have blogs.
Users can create and join User specific groups.

Resources:
Downloads(Games, engines, tutorials, etc...)
Wiki
WebLinks
Publish your game with us... Not yet implemented.

Fun:
Fan Fiction section
Fan art section to come soon.

Team Development:
Project starter/Personal Projects
Post a search for a team.

Profile/Profile Searching:
You can see your user page.
You can see your awards.
You can add what games your working on.
You can put in contact info.
You can tell us what your 10 favorite games are.
You can specify what skills you have and to what degree you can use them.
You can specify what languages you speak.
You can upload personal files.
You can have a user gallery showcasing your art work or art and images in general.
You can have a personal guest book for yourself.

AND THERE WILL BE MORE AS I GO.

A note about "Project Starter/Personal Projects". This is a great tool. You can create a project (Game, or Engine or whatever, as long as its adventure related). You can add users and give them permissions and access levels. Your project can have news and task assignments and a calendar. You also  have a private forum just for your project members and more. Everything stays private or public depending on your settings. You can also upload your files. I feel that this is a great way to get Teams working and organized on projects.

What I will need from you:
I need input and suggestions. If I can have board moderators and even site administrators, that would help immensely. If you have resources, games, tutorials, artwork... ANYTHING that you can upload to the site, that would help content-wise. Bug-testing would also be a big help. Eventually Donations for server costs would be helpful as well. If you want to host specific sites for specific projects, such as RON or anything, that would also help with content and visitors. Also promote the site where you can.

Future items:
Shop
Hall of Fame
Adventure Top Sites
Anything you can think of.

Thanks all for listening and for your help. The site is http://www.adventurestockpile.com .

----------------------------

Update 6/08/10:

Well, I updated the site with a better looking design, imo anyway, for adventure games. I have some downloads there, so you can check it out. Let me know what you think. The site is on a new server which will be shared with http://www.jediorder-swc.com and it allows for unlimited space and bandwidth. Enjoy.  Thanks.

Engine Development / Re: AGS Wii Port?

This was a PM I received from him back in august:

He wants me to do it, yes, but I haven't started yet because the source control system isn't up to date. I can't make any promises about alternatate OSes until I get going, but it seems quite probable the Linux and Mac versions could run from the same code because it'd be OpenGL based.

Good idea Trent with this module!

I still have my two simpsons games. Atleast I have gotten a template released with 40 rooms.

@Darth: I REALLY REALLY hope you continue Rebel Spy. I love Star Wars. I hope you continue or remake that game again. Hey, did you ever have a demo for it?If yes, do you have link we can download it from?
#659
You can use Blender to create the room file. You can use any md2 modeler or again, blender to create your smd and your own md2 files. In fact, there are so many MD2 models out there already made and that have the animations set. All you have to do is change the skin and your done. Just look at Transformers Quake.
#660
I'm using DAGE. I really like this thing!

Just so you all know, its up to 0.1.6 and supports md2 models now. I also read the forum just now. Apparently you can also create more than one room!
