I will work on this game as often as possible. Although I dont have all the time in the world, so it may take a while. That is the reason why I am releasing Templates as I go along while making this game. Becouse then if I dont finish, or if I take too long to finish, someone else in the meantime can create a Fan Simpsons Game. I think there is more than enough in the Template for people to make some mini-to-medium length games in there.

Heck, there are more stuff in there than most full-long adventures, so I would like to encourage everyone to make use of this Template, most of it is already programmed for you. All you have to do is create a plot, add some inventory and program that it and you have a game!

Hoy, I AM Italian. In fact, I am also an Italian Citizen. I have duel citizenship.

This is my story, my parents and my older brother moved from Italy to Brooklyn, NY in the US from Torre Del Greco (Vicino Napoli) Italy, before I was born.

When I was born, in 1981 in Brooklyn,  My parents only spoke to me in Italian, not even dialect. It was my first and primary language up until I started school. When that happened, English became my primary language.

I still speak and read Italian well and almost flawlessly, but English is my primary language, thats why I put down English in my Profile.

And the reason why I live in Connecticut now is becouse my brother moved here, and I needed to move here for other reasons and being that my brother lived here, I made the move.

I hope this answers your questions and doubt about why I live in Connecticut and why I put English in my profile if I am Italian. :)

Sicilians speak some sort of Italian. I have a hard time understanding them. But none the less, its an Italian Dialect. And yes, the Mafia started and continues in Sicily. Havent you watched God-Father?

Well, I would definetly find it usefull. Also, to Stuh, I cant just edit an AVI file, it would really take too long to do.

What I wanted to do was for my simpsons game, where I take videos off the DVD and cut out the sound, but in order for the video then to make sense, I would need to add sub-titles to it. Thats the reason why I needed this feature.

Ok, I think its great that you can use AVI files and all, but I couldn't find a way to add sub-titles to the AVI file or even Dub over the sound.  Is there a possibility to add a script such as PlayMovieText(At point, Duration, String) ?

It would be very useful for me.

Glad I dont have an ags website. I just upload my games to my Transformers Website. Less people visit that way ;)

ok, recently I have been working more on my Transformers Sim game at energonplant.com , but that doesn't mean I havent been working on my Simpsons Template.

It is still the same download as the last, but A new one will be made soon. I promise. I put this back up becouse of many requests first off, secondly, I put this back up becouse NBC Europe is doing a special on AGS and its fan games. Someone in the other thread mentioned that it would feature a Simpsons game. Now it can be one of the other games made with AGS, I can only think of one though. But in case its mine, here is an uploaded version for them and you to continue to use. Expect more updates to come within the next few weeks.

A simpsons fan game!?!?!?!? I wonder if they are gonna use my Template!!! This needs to be recorded.

I am shocked!!!! No attempts at saying that AGS is now abandoned, or that AGS is gonna be shareware.

Atleast say something like Lucasarts wanted to buy out AGS, or they are sueing for making an Engine similar to theres.

Or even come out and say that in reality you are Al Lowe or the guy that made Mean Streets..

Nothing though....

My guess is he is gonna do something like this in a few weeks where we would actually believe him... Try not to give us a heartattack Chris.


By the way, I put this here since this was talk of AGS and the engine. I figured it would be a general Adventure game topic. So I hope I didn't break the rules. Just move it if I did.

What if you made a post which was the FAQ. Put it in every forum. Sticky it and lock it, this way everyone will absolutely see it and the rules will be followed more concisely(Did I use the right word?).

Actually, for whoever said Allegro wasn't ported to Mac, I found a Mac Port. BUT!, there are still other libraries to consider.

Yeah Nightquest has got the right idea... If you use a Dos Emulator (Which costs $30) You can run your games in windows CE or Pocket pc which is the same freaking thing.

Also if you have Visual Studio.net 2003, there is an option to compile for pocketpc or ce. Maybe the code for the linux version is clean enough to be used with .net and ported and at the same time you wouldn't have to worry too much about targeting ARM SSH MIPS etc...

I actually have VS.net 2003 and this is how I know it can be done. You just start a new project, choose Smartdevice project and import the sources. I am not a C++ programmer and do not know if it still that easy or not, but I thought I would offer it in case you all didn't know.

Oh and you can maybe try embedded vc++ too.

It has been. About two years if not more. And think about the progress that has been made too.  43 Rooms, 12 characters and 13 gui's (Each player with his/her own).

Thats more than most fan games created. And they are all programmed and ready to be played.

And now even more progress is being made with the game.

I am really hoping that once this template is done, it will spawn a whole series of Simpsons games from AGS.

The Template is about half way done. The game is a tenth done. I do have mini- simpson games that will come out soon though.

Ok, a few updates...

First, my website provider sucks. So for some reason my site hasn't been up in about a month. And I cant get it back. I think it deleted my account and cant recover my information. I am slightly pissed off right now for that.

So I need who ever downloaded my last template to e-mail it to me at ajdiperla@netzero.net, And I mean the very last one... Look at the release notes to see if you have it or not.

Dont post before e-mailing me, or e-mail me first. Just e-mail it to me. I have 1gig space on my e-mail and I have cable internet so it wont take long to download.

But the good news is I got a new color PDA. I have been transferring my simpsons episodes over to my cartridge and ripping the sprites through episodes. So what?

Well, now with my stylus I can cut the images out much easier than using a drawing tablet or a mouse. Which means more characters that are not in Virtual Springfield or Cartoon studio will be featured in the game like the Flanders, the Wiggums, Barney, Carl and Lenny, Apu, Krabapple, Mrs Hoover, Willie, Martin, Jimbo jones and the other bullies, and more...

What else does it mean? Well, I can get to extract backgrounds a lot easier too. Which means I might be able to get all 300 rooms in AGS to be full. I can even get things that can be used as items off the show. This means endless possibilities for what the game can support.

Also this means that I can draw walk behinds in and Masks in my pda paint and transfer it over to AGS. Which means that this game and the template will be done much quicker than having me use my mouse.

Just an update. Oh and I need that template thank you.

I was thinking something similar to gilbot for the inventory items...

Why not allow next to each item to put an item type number. Eg 1, or 2, or3 etc...

When you put an inventory window on a gui, you specify in a text area which item types to display, 1, or 2, or 3 etc...

I was gonna vote to take off both, but I can see why the CD audio thing might be useful.

But yeah, I vote for taking off the player character view.

Actually the demo was old and I had taken it off. The template should be considered somewhat of a demo. See when I make this game, I have to AGS' running. One with the actual game being made and the other that makes the template. When I make a room in the template, I transport it over to the main game files as well. Saves me time and work and allows me to make a template and a game.

Consider the template as the demo,. The old demo was removed. If the template doesn't download, make sure your copying the link exactly. It works for me.

To Darth:

I was wondering if I were following the rules. since I have a template full of rooms and characters, do I still need to put up screenshots to the game somewhere?
