F5 will get the load save screen
F7 will get you the town of springfield
F9 will get you the character select screen
F12 may or may not save a screenshot.

I plan on adding a few more rooms and doing a few more programming things to it. But I will release it a few weeks.

It now has 42 rooms, 213 sprites, 14 views, 13 gui's(two of which will be used for Sub-Rooms), 63 gui objects, 7 inventory items, 12 characters. Not all of the latest rooms have been edited completely. I havent done too much work on this game and template in a while. But here is my release. A new one will soon be released, I promise.

Consider these Templates as a sort of Demo for my game as well becouse the Story is 90% done and most of the puzzles are done. Plus these are the graphics and characters of the game.

Cool!!! I am glad to see that there are tons of fans of Zak McKracken. Zak is my all time favorite game period! I am actually awaiting these other projects in development.

Actually I was one of the Italian Translators for the "New adventures of Zak McKracken".

Its great to see that you are making a ton of progress on this and that you are mimicking a lot of features from the Zak Game.

Keep it up.

Buon proseguimento!

Hey Mabou, not to go off subject, but are you a Zak McKracken fan?
#946
Yeah the body isn't completely proportioned. His head and hands are the right size, but I think he needs to have more weight personally. Luke was sort of built in Empire Strikes back and this game takes place after...

I was just reloading the page to see the different Random screenshots, and they look great!!! I cant wait for the Demo.

You know why they refer to CJ in plural? Its becouse a program like this noone ever thought would be made from just one man! Heck, SCUMM and other engines I am sure had some help.

I think pumaman should be changed to "CJ the Incredible one man programming machine" !

Uhmm... I am not thinking of me me me here buddy. If I use linux and someone has a game that uses plugins, that game is no good to me. At home its all fine and dandy. ButI play games at work too on my lunch break. But its all Linux. Most of the time in fact that I play a game is at work.

I only get about an hour a week to play at home on my windows box. Oh and Linux is great. My only complaint is that its hard to understand and do things in it and it doesn't have many of the commercial software found on Windows developed for it.

But lets not lose the point of this topic. I was saying , why not just give the source code to the plugins to CJ maybe he could make use of it and add a feature.Who knows.

Another possibility for CJ to open source AGS is to only give the source to people who have made great and complex games, Plugin developers (Not the math ones, my friends 9 year old brother could make that plugin), Eviltypeguy and anyone who is truly a programmer and it shows. Then have them sign a contract and have them help youdevelop and port AGS.

That could be another possibility. Atleast have them hunt for bugs or something while CJ looks to add new features.
#951
I really cant wait for yours and Darth Mandarbs games. This looks sweet! Please continue your work.

Well, has anyone who wrote the plugins ever thought about giving the source code to CJ to implement into the engine? I find lots of those codes usefull becouse I would use the flashlight plugin in my games and even the math plugins.

And you can say why not just leave it alone and use the plugins? Well, becouse I develop and use Linux as well. I have a duel boot. At Work I only use linux. The linux version doesn't support plugins.

Rather than making it source, just give CJ the source to your plugins, maybe he can use it.

Well, what about a CVS bit which allows you to view the source code that only Chris chooses for you to see.

Any code that would assist in helping you figure out how to decompile a game would not be visible.

Someone would then write their own code, post it on the CVS site. Chris has to look at it and then approve it and if he approves it, it becomes part of the official program source.

Something like Sourceforge.net.

This could help not only in adding features for the engine, but possibly allowing the engine to be ported to other OS's.

Do you think this could protect a lot of what Chris wants?

I hope this made sense, its late at night and my eyes are getting blurry.

I remember when I was part of the Big AGS Project which ended up being a DOTT Sequel.

I would love to bring big the "big Project", just I would prefer it be an original game concept. I really think the whole AGS community as a whole could get involved in this. Maybe sourceforge will allow us to have an AGS CVS.

Did you guys know that Home of the underdogs is hosting the game?
#956
Well in that case, then maybe a DB support plugin would be good. I am not sure though if A-V-O's plugin supports DB connections.

JD
#957
I disagree with the whole python thing. I think it would be incompatible with AGS like Chris said.

But as far as DB connections and XML... They could be used for massive multiplayer games. But a system like that can be done through plugins. And besides, I seriously doubt anyone would ever really make a game like that with AGS.

Hey I was thinking maybe this poll system could work for the suggestions:

http://www.abynex.com/tallyvotescripts.htm

I think the rank1-5 package is the best deal. I already bought it, so I dont mind sending you the mail package Chris. But you could also check out the other poll stuff there. and here is another link to more choices: http://www.webscriptsdirectory.com/PHP/Polls-Voting/
#959
Why dont we just start with a vote on those suggestions first then. Or atleast a vote on what stays and doesn't stay? That we can definetly do a Vote in the forums on.
#960
Why not just eliminate that current todo list completely? Lets start over, fresh.
