Grand Theft Auto Monkey Island style:

Next up a gay tap dancing monkey who is high on crack going on a murderous rampage through Hawaii.

I enjoyed the idea, it was creative and funny, in its way. The graphics are fitting - they kinda look like AGI style, so it fits in.

But, I HAVE to say this - "creative liberties" aside, of those four series, the only one Roberta Williams designed was King's Quest. ;)

Yeah, also LSL had quite a large history before LSL 1 was even made (softporn) so that doesn't make much sense that she'd see a bar and a short guy in a white suit and get the idea for LSL when it was really inspired by Softporn.

I agree with all it looks great, I like websites that are less fancy and easy to navigate. For example the Magna Cum Laude site really turns me off (www.leisuresuitlarry.com).

The game is pretty funny and the graphics aren't THAT bad, but there's plenty of room for improvement. The coding is pretty basic and all. But I await your next game.

Pretty funny and pretty good (yet easy) first game. Nice ending!

The walkcycle is nice except for:
* For 1 frame, the legs seem to 'stick' on the ground
* The back arm, when it is coming foreward, it jerks foreward instead of being smooth like the other moverments.

But overall very nice, Tho I do miss the 2 eyes in the side view. I don't know if its needed tho.

When he stops walking you will see his two eyes. I'm just using a trait that is used all the time that when they walk sideways their heads turn sideways.

I assure you that the side view in this picture will be used.

Small animation I made for fun:

And the third and hopefully final version of the side view walking animation:

Hey, I like these, you've got a nice style going there. Even though some of the perspective is weird I'm guessing it's just the style like in DOTT.

the head currently sticks to the body, you should try making it bob independently a little

I don't think so, I've seen many professional games where the head sticks to the body with no independent bobbing and it looks fine (Day of the Tentalce, Beneath a Steel Sky, Monkey Island ect).

One more thing you could do with the walking animation is make the hair bounce just a little bit.

You know I already tried that and it looked like complete shit so I decided not to use it. I am going to make his head be completely side on in version 3 of this walking animation so stay tuned!

;D Great character.
Can you make a smaller version and e-mail me the frames?
I would love to make a Platform Game of it.
Can you do that?

Perhaps latter when the walking animation is more defined. I am still working on it.

The reason it looked so "poofy" was because the beard was meant to be made of fire in the Curse of Monkey Island.

[edited by eric, just so you know, there's no reason to quote the entire post and picture from the post directly above yours, also in the future edit out the pictures from quotes unless they're necessary, woop de woop]

yeah this one is a lot better especially the face, though i think maybe the chest could be mistaken for a large (muscly)  guy's chest  :-\ or maybe i'm stupid hehe

No you're right, they do sort of look like a guys muscly chest rather than breasts.
#334
Hate to say it but I think the original one looked better.
