This game is AWESOME...

I've been lurking for AGEEESSSSSS around here, but this game really caught my eye..

The dark nature of the game is unreal, and the whole concept is pretty original too. Artwork was awesome, as was the music. Also gotta make a comment on the in-game video - ABSOLUTELY WICKED !!!

I know I'm probably being ignorant by not reading older posts or something similar, but if you get time Benedict, I just wanna know two things:

1) What program did you use to make the videos?

2) How long did it take to make them?

Cheers

This demo is AWESOME!!

I've been lurking around and haven't posted on these forums for almost TWO YEARS, but THIS GAME definitely deserves a mention !!

Can't wait till the full thing is out !

For a first game - this is an awesome effort~!!!

Even though I wouldn't usually like the b/gs taken from photos and put straight into the game, the contrasting cartoony character sprites made it a great combination.

BTW - nice GREEN forest, keep up the good work~!

Apologies in advance, my intelligent colleagues but I needed a little break from more 'intellectual humour', and stumbled upon this: http://www.pwned.nl/

Those somewhat familiar with CS might find this funny...

or might not (Though if you don't, I'm not really concerned because you can't please everyone...)

hehe - I thought it was worth a laugh.

haha

I've got a few mates who have this same issue. Not to say I'm perfect when talking to females, but its not that hard to do. One tip - given that you're of age and you drink - if you meet them in a pub/club just have ONE drink, enough to loosen you up a bit and then just CHHIIILLLLL into a conversation. Some girls may be all dressed up or whatever, but its nothing to worry about - chances are if you have a convo with them, you'll realise that she's on the same level as you.

This is an awesome quote from the back of a ute: "I drink to make other people more interesting"

Just remember that, and you'll have NO PROBLEM with self-confidence speaking to women anywhere.

Well thanks to all for their help on this one - but alas to no avail. I have tried: using magnets; bashing the screen: from the top, from the sides, from the bottom, from the back/front, with a shoe, with a stick; unplugging/replugging the cable several times; leaving the monitor on for three days straight; resetting the OSD several times; degaussing MANY TIMES MORE all with no result.

I'd post a screenshot, but well er.. you get the point.

Anyhow, I think it's BIN TIME - such a shame though nice screen and all.

Just one more question - does anyone know if this problem can occur with FlatScreen monitors, or just CRT's?

Thanks again.

Hey people - I haven't been on the forums for a while now coz of uni work (which some can relate to). Anyway,  about a month ago I put one of my car speakers on a shelf near my comp. monitor and noticed that it made some strange patterns and the colours went all funny. (Magnetic fields from the magnet in contact with the CRT) I moved it away and the screen went back to normal. DON'T ASK ME WHY I DID THIS but I decided to put the speaker really close to the screen, and the colours spread out everywhere. I then moved the speaker away, but the colours were still messed up, then moved it closer again and  again, and the colours were STILL messed up. Anyway there is a field of normal colours in the middle of the screen, a tinge of 'green' near the top parts, and a tinge of 'red' near the bottom. How do I fix this (if possible)?

I have tried with magnets and degaussing the screen but still no luck. While the colours looked "COOL" for the first week, its really starting to s**t me now, because nothing looks right. Can anyone suggest a solution or is it bin time???

Here's a new one http://www.qfg3d.com/

Just by looking at the name can u tell what game it is??? (hmm)

Although I haven't seen much more of the game, and it is only a CONCEPTUAL image, I think the waterfall/'Enry's cave should really be left alone...

I think mosdt people will agree

Well, after thinking it over for a while I finally registered. Looks like I am only the ninth.. I would have done it sooner, but I only just got home from Uni, and was trying to work out the Australian dollar conversion rates for a while.

C'mon guys, It's not THAT much to pay for such an advanced piece of software. If you don't think it's worthwhile in the long run, think about this - I know that many of us may not have created anything in the like of Tierra's productions, but who is to say that one day we may not produce something even more spectacular! Then consider that without the AGS engine itself, productions like these would not be possible..

Another thing to consider - have any of YOU made a complete Adventure (or other) Game Engine as sophisticated as AGS??? I don't think so.. I've only had a peek at C++ and the amount of effort required to code such a program is really incredible. CJ, you are a true genius (in more ways than one    :) ) and you really deserve all you ask for by this registration fee.

Haha!

if only the real page was like this all the time..

"My friend Mark said that he saw an adventure game player totally finish some adventure game just because the adventure game was an adventure game".

This is absoulte gold!!

MrColossal - if you don't recommend getting drunk and posting on the forums, what's your view on getting RIPPED and then posting...??? I mean some people get all "Creative" and such while under the influence of sibannac, and this is usually positive in the light of Adventure Game Production. What do you think??

Yeah I'll say it with no sugar-coating - ME IS THE WORST MS O/S EVER!! As an ME user for 3 years now I only realised a few months back how muck frankfurt this system sucks.. Only now have I converted to Win 2000 Pro and realise on what I was missing out.

Pity.

I've just been looking through the Games page, and noticed that we/you/someone/I(?) should do something about the voting system we have at the moment. I'm not sure what the formula for getting a rating percentage for a game is, but I think the threshold might be a little too high. For those already confused by the last sentence, just go to the short (or any other) games page, scroll down the titles and see just how many times you can count the words "Need more votes", and you'll understand what I mean...

I don't think this affects the majority of the community members/lurkers who have been on the forums for some time and read about the games in particular, like myself. However, try to take it from a n00b's (a person new to the community's) perspective to the forums, when they scroll down the list of games made with AGS and see the phrases "Sorry, no image available" in a combination with "Need more votes" used to rate a game. It's not the most positive promotional material for the community now is it?

This game would rock, had it any actual length.. Very enjoyable, but I was sorely disapointed at the half-hour worth of gameplay I got out of a 20+ meg download. (I'm glad I don't have dial-up anymore).

Excellent graphics, fantastic alternating music, and a really good developing plot!!! Worth checking out if you've got broadband, otherwise maybe wait until all the chapters of this game are complete. To modem-users - don't say I didn't warn you...!
