Don't know what you're asking...like...how to draw a chess board properly? Or how to design an entire battle system?

Currently is this an issue?   Are games getting high scores unwarranted?  So far the high score games I've downloaded have been pretty decent quality.
Nah, doesn't really seem to be an issue at all. I was really more curious of what the forum goers thought than anything else.

General Discussion / Votes for yourself?
Wed 14/07/2010 19:55:08
I was just looking through some of my games in the DB, and noticed the little 'click here to vote' link. For kicks, I tried clicking it and expected it to bring me to some kind of "Sorry, you can't vote for your own game" page. Instead...it brought me to the votes page. I didn't click through, but are we really allowed to vote on our own games? If so, it seems silly, since the creator often times will not be so objective.

Ah, thanks for pointing that out, glad you liked it! Your music always helps :D

And DDQ, I think you did a great job as the guard!

You can always request a review from me, if you like. I'll be happy to give one. My site isn't super duper popular, but I get a fair amount of traffic month to month. This really goes for anyone, throw me a PM sometime.

Woah! Voice Acting and slightly new graphics?! Also uses Mods' new soundtrack...

Sorry. Just think it deserves a bump.

Go to the download page to check it out :D

Looks neat! Downloading now. I'll be back with feedback.

EDIT:  Done! Kay, here's what I got from it.

Spoiler

A few cons, first.
Some of the spelling, grammar, etc. was off. Some I's weren't capitalized, "your" instead of "you're" in a few different places. Not a huge problem but stuff that's an easy fix.
Enough of that though.

But anyways. The situation was surreal, to say the least. It was a very odd game, but I kept playing out of sheer interest, so good job on that. You didn't overdo the cuss words, they seemed appropriate where they were. The music was pretty good as well. Overall, I'd say it's a great first game from a technically new guy. :)

Also, and I'm dying to know, how did you do the shading effects in this game? They looked really pretty neat.

I'm no thief! thats why I included sqaure enix in the game to show this content may include stuff from square enix!

Well, fine. But....

If I were to steal a bunch of steaks from the local grocery store, then invite my friends over to eat them, they won't be happy with my justification for stealing being that it's okay as long as they know where the steaks are from ...  :-\

EDIT: Calin beat me to it, more or less. :P

As I explained in my post, it's the lack of depth that would confuse many players. When things are flattened to that extent, it's hard to navigate.

Ah. Sorry. Didn't see that.

I think the biggest issue may be the lack of depth. I'm not sure why, but I think if the rooms were given depth and more substance, they may start to feel more unique and identifiable.

Hahah, yeah, it's been troublesome. However, it's getting better day by day :D

I think, but can't remember who it was...

A brilliant mind on this very forum once said something along the lines of:

Do not put your work on the internet if you want nothing but praise. Show it to your mother who will tell you it's "nice", then go have a glass of milk and take a nap.

General Discussion / A journal of mine

Recently I've been working on developing on the iPhone. I've been writing a little journal on the experience so far, I just put it up today right here:

Sorry if it seems self-indulgent, it was a suggestion given to me and I'll see how it goes. I plan to keep updating it.

Can someone explain why the opyion walkable/hot2sopt areas wont come up

You'll have to be way more specific than that, not sure what you're talking about. Also this sounds like a question more suited for the beginner's questions part of the forum. Try to ask your technical question over there and just stick to these drawings you've made in here.

Quite good, I'd say. Keep developing them, I'd like to see what they will look like finished and colored.

I'm offering my bad accent voice to the table.

Sorry duals, all the roles...uhm...all...what...5? Were taken. If you're still willing for the sequel I'm sure I can find a voice for you when it's time for that. :D
#378
I'd say the sound aspect as well. I actually scared myself a few times while working on my games...

Domithan, I've been playing with direct midi to mp3 and it made some of the tracks sound epic, so I'll upload a special MP3 version of the soundtrack tonight, here's a sample :)

Wow, that sounds fantastic! Thanks a lot for that one :)

I'll be sure to put up an update with a link to a version with the enhanced music.

ALSO: Need some voice actors, probably going to add a voice pack. I had already promised Calin and Xeno places long ago, but I still need a couple more.
