It-is-all-over !

It's time to announce the winner of this Colouring Ball Competition !

1st : Oddysseus
The Gold trophy goes to Oddysseus and his weird entry. I don't know how you came up with that idea, but it is definitely original !

2nd : Jim Reed
The Silver trophy goes to Jim Reed. Very nice work, and the line about "Santa's prison days" made me laugh.  ;D

3rd : Dark Link
And last, but not least, the Bronze trophy goes to Dark Link for his cute little Santa helper.

Congratulations to all the contestants, and see you next time for the next Colouring Ball, that will be started by Oddysseus.

It is time to end this Colouring Ball. I will determine who is the winner by the end of the day (probably at 11:00 PM GMT+1).

If anybody still wants to enter this competition, it's time to hurry ! There will be trophies !

Ha, I just remembered one thing : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QkaAg7OkaGk

It's totally possible to use the Sherlock character in order to tell a totally different story  :=
(I'm no Miyazaki fan, but, damn, it was a really nice cartoon !)

(Born with no eyes ?!? Uuugh, that's disgusting...)

Nice entries, guys ! I'm really surprised to see what you came up with, considering the look of the outline !
Keep 'em coming, it's great to see that the colouring ball is still alive !

I'm curious about the movie. I'm not a Guy Ritchie fan (I enjoyed Snatch and Lock, Stock,.. but I'm not too crazy about them either) and the trailer looks huh... It just doesn't look like Sherlock Holmes at all. BUT, why not ?

It raises that question : Do adaptations have to be 100% accurate ?

(side note : A lot of people complain about the lack of fidelity to the original matter, but most of the time, those same people do not even know that Sherlock was a drug addict for example)

Sometimes, some elements just do not work in a movie. Holmes solves a lot of cases only by sitting on his bed, smoking or doing drugs.

I'm not saying adaptations should be totally different, but still, I think that a movie should be independant from the original source (Sorry about my terrible english  :-\ )

(After that, it raises another question : Why do they have to name it after the original source then ? They could have created a new character in the same context, with lots of references, etc. That's another debate, I guess)

(Sorry again, I hope you'll understand what I wrote  ??? )

It is time for the AGS colouring ball, the ultimate proving ground for pixel artists !

It's Christmas and every child -well, at least, any child that celebrates Christmas- is eager to find out what gift Santa is gonna bring. The problem is, as grandpa Santa will probably be in bed dealing with the flu, he asked one of his fellows to replace him and get the job done.

What does he/she/it look like ? Who is Santa's replacement ?

Rules :

-The outline may be rotated, mirrored, but not scaled.
-The outline may be altered, as long as it is still recognisable.

Bonus points for originality and for including a background.

There are no colour limitations.

Surprise me with your imagination and let us see how you make those creative juices flowing !

I'll start the next Colouring Ball then.
Hopefully, there will be more entries...

My first win ! Yay ! (by default  :=)

Wow, the contest was supposed to be over a long time ago... (Well, I guess there were a lot of other contests at the same time)

Well, here is my entry.

x1

x2

You just disturbed a gorilla while he was doing yoga (probably while doing the corn tree pose) ! He lost his balance and fell in your garden, leaving that imprint !

I know it's really late but I guess I'm the winner by default ?  :P

Same thing here...

Gah ! Not enough time !! Might as well post it now...

...(and polish it in a few months, hahaha...)

Definitely Apidya and Turrican II !!!

These intros may be a little cheesy, outdated, but Chris Huelsbeck's music are unforgettable.

Marion, Monsieur OUXX, naamlock, creamy (and I) are french members, and if I recall correctly, Dorcan (awesome artist !) speaks french...

@ Pumaguy : I think it doesn't make a lot of sense... Well, as for the french community, everybody knows that our english is terrible (not to mention the accent). So, there's an explanation. But, for swedish people, for example, I don't know.

Mazel Tov, Baron !

Actually, Sherlock Holmes was a detective in Scotland Yard. He was a police officer.
Although Dr. Watson is not, so... I dunno.
Actually... No. Even though Sherlock regularly helps Lestrade or Gregson, he doesn't work for Scotland Yard as a detective. He's not even a police officer. In fact, he's a consultant. Everything's clear about that in the first novel -"A study in scarlet"- when Watson asks Holmes about his activities.

Making your character a grade-A egghead seems a nice option, as Emerald said, but you don't have to make him own Phd or stuff like that.

You can also check some TV shows like Monk or Psych (personally never saw one single episode but hey... thank you imdb !)... Or contact the Metropolitan Police directly.

I vote for Eggie ("Jump Jump Jump..." etc.  ;D)

As for CodeJunkie's entry, I didn't know that Mario's butt was looking that great.

"Has anyone ever told you your eyes look like Space Crystals?"

It reminds me of the crappiest pick up line ever :
"Your father is a thief, he stole all the stars in the sky to put them into your eyes".

So if someone says watching TV is a waste of time, I'd say they're watching the wrong sort of TV.

No... No. No. No, no, no, no. No. No, no, no, no, no... No.

If someone says watching american TV is a waste of time, they are surely not watching french TV. Even the worst american show would be far better than our best one (welcome to a new level of crappiness)

Gord10, the third picture on your first post really disturbs me. Yep, the red one.

Because of the composition, I always think that Burak's leg is the foreground character's dick.

Well simply Googling "'Missing in my home' lyrics" only returned one result that wasn't related to some bloggers saying "...has now gone missing in my home". The result was this, but I don't think that it's probably related.

Searching for "I hope you know" is absolutely absurd and I refuse to do it. :=
[...]

I did. And I found that.
Baby animals - Lights Out At Eleven, maybe ? The sample is very short, but the "doo doo doo" and the high pitched voices are there.

Actually the ending of the death note anime and the death note manga is the same. Have you taken into consideration the final episode that was released about a month ago?
Anyway, I also recommend the manga be read as well, since the scenes that were cut, were kinda fun.

I'm not sure what you are refering to. Are you talking about the Director's Cut : Final Conclusion ?

Anyway, what I meant was :
Spoiler
By the end of episode 37, Light dies with some dignity. They tried to put some poetry by making him die alone, in front of an illusion of L (well, sort of). They even put a sweet, melancholic melody, and ... What about that parallel editing scene with Misa while the sun sets ? It's rather beautiful ! He doesn't beg for Ryuku's pity and doesn't have his heart attack in front of everybody. I mean... In the comic version, Light dies like a dog, it's a humiliating death. In my opinion, that's not the same ending.

As for the other manga you mentioned, I didn't read it but I know someone that watched the anime and he says it's interesting.

That's MORE than interesting.  :D
