Shame on you ! You should be working on DITA !  :P

@ lo_res_man : PMed you

Death Note animated series is a very well made adaptation of the comics, but I think people shoud read the comic version first. Radiant is right, it goes a lot further. Especially the last chapters : the ending is far more shocking and somewhat ambiguous.

Now, for those who like Takeshi Obata -the artist- 's wonderful work, I suggest you check Hikaru No Go, a manga about ...(wait for it) Go ! Yep, the board game. More info here

Well, that's hardly cosplay now is it? That's models paid to dress up like cartoon figures to attract the kind of people InCreator were talking about... And I agree with him.

Actually... Yes, it is. At a professional level. (on pics b and c, the girl is a famous cosplayer)

Now think again : Cosplay doesn't only consist in dressing, cosplayers make their own costumes. It's highly improbable that insecure ugly fat boys would be able to put that much effort in a sophisticated 5000 dollar costume for six months and ... show off like that. The kind of people InCreator was talking about are more likely to be touched by the hikikomori syndrome.

[...]As for Naruto, it's just mediocre. There are better animes and certainly worse ones.

I second that.

Still, anime and cosplay combined is level of nerdiness TOO high for even my brain to digest.
I thought that this is what 9-year old fat and ugly boys and girls do. And wonder why they have no friends.

Whoa, that's harsh. Not all cosplayers are like that !

Pinball Dreams/Fantasies/Illusions (Amiga) [...]

Haaa, I spent a lot of time on Pinball Fantasies on my 500+. Souvenirs, souvenirs... I also like Master Blaster, Twinz Pro and Battle Isle ! Ah, and what about Power Monger ! Those are games I can play over and over again.

My absolute favourite is Sid Meier's Civilization II. I'm not good at this kind of game but still... I love this one.

Actually, I was thinking about that :

These dolls are not horrible, they are fine, but for some reason, I don't like them.

Wow. JBurger, KhrisMUC... Impressive... Most impressive (Santa Vador speaking). That's some breathtaking pixel art, guys!  :o

But my vote goes to Akatosh. His entry is funny as hell (Ho, ho, ho, suckers !) and the concept is brilliant.

And, as Layabout said : I want to play that game !

[Whoa, in your first version, April looks like my sister...]

Somehow, I prefer your first version. It has a very effective manga style and she looks vulnerable, which is a good thing, considering the genre of your game.

I tried to keep that appearance : She's kinda short, looks innocent. She still has big breasts... Hmmm. Gah, that's hard to describe what I did, my english is terrible.
The problem now, is that she looks like these awful cartoon dolls you can find everywhere on the web and lacks personality. Probably because of the size of her head. I don't know.

Also, your character reminds me of Jill Valentine from the Resident Evil series. (hence the haircut)

Bubblehead nurse from Silent Hill !

Seriously wounded (probably by a baseball bat).

OT I know (I also know I do that a lot), but the 'shark-faced missile thingy' looks a lot like a Bullet Bill from SMBW... did you do that on purpose? :D

Nope, but I guess it is unconscious... ;D

When I saw Bohnito's awesome entry, I immediately felt the urge to do another pic, but with a younger lady. Here she is (not an entry) :

She's got a strange thing on the head...

And I have to say, even though I'm in the competition, my favourite one is Indie Boy's huge assed  :o Santa Claus.

A confederacy of Dunces by John Kennedy Toole
Dune by Frank Herbert
The Robots series by Isaac Asimov (Robots and Empire, the Ending... Just great)

The topic and its description confused me a little bit. "Something strange" and it could be a man or a bird ?

Well. A kamikaze rabbit sitting in a shark-faced missile thingy is quite strange, right ? I guess I'm not off-topic...

Critics' Lounge / Re: C&C for a character

Yay ! I made some changes on your character, I hope you don't mind.
Lowered the shoulders, the boobs, made her legs thinner, modified the haircut and the way she stands. I also added a belt and opened her shirt.

[PS : how do I put the images side by side ?]
edit : Thanks for the tip, OneDollar !

Hi everybody, big hello from France !

I'm Andy R. and I'm an addict. ("Hi Andy !" Come on, say it !)
I started playing adventure games on my good old Amiga 500+ -and its huge amount of chipram : 1Mo ! Impressive !- but became seriously interested in the genre only a few years ago, in 2003-2004.

What else can I say ? Adventure Games are cool. I love playing them.
I hope that I will be around for a long time and someday, perhaps, I may even make a game. Maybe. Possibly. (Sorry if my english is terrible)
