Nope, checked it and I certainly am using 32-bit palette. Now I'm even more confused.

All sudden, I've started experiencing this weird issue when importing sprites.

That is, I get these ugly black and brown things where there's supposed to be transparency. Any idea what simple thing is causing this?

Stranger, I thank thee for making me look and feel dumb.

Spoiler
I suppose you could explain me the guy with the light and Trilby in the white room then.

I suppose we can never expect to find out the reason Chzo replaced Cabadath. Didn't the Caretaker say something about Theo just being a pawn in a game too complicated for them to understand? Chzo clearly had some reason to do so, on a much larger scale.

And Somerset probably didn't want to get to space bad enough to kill his own father. As seen in the Countdown-episodes. The Caretaker can quite effectively make people want to do whatever he orders.

I think it's a nice game altogether, but  the problem stays the same as in 7 days and especially Trilby's notes - the idea is pretty much dried up. I think Yahtzee should explore new ground.

Personally, I'd be happy if he just got back to comedy.

Spoiler

I have the "idea" of a pickaxe, and the main corridor is changing, while the girl (not Samantha) is chasing me wearing the welding mask and holding the knife. Instead of the Medical Storage Room, there is the door from 5DAS, and it takes me to the shed from 5DAS (I got the "idea" of the pickaxe there). Now in the Dorm Room, where the bunks are, the door to the right is glowing. In that door, I am in the kitchen from 5DAS. The woman wearing the welding mask comes from the right door. If I use the pickaxe on the "idea" of the hole where Trilby found John Defoe, the game says that the hole recognizes the pickaxe, and the woman leaves, but I cannot do anything after that, except leave.

Just wait until she gets verrry close to the hole, then use the pickaxe on it.

Welp, played it through on one sitting and I must say I'm bloody happy with the result, even if it wasn't as scary as Trilby's Notes was, probably because I saw some of the surprises coming. Wraps things up surprisingly well though.

Spoiler
The end did leave me with some questions as I didn't really recognize all the pictures during the credits.

Let's explain why Toonstruck's ending was so crap then. http://www.lauraj.net/portfolio/GameArt/Toonstruck/Toonstruck.htm

For clicking-impaired, it was originally supposed to be twice as long but was then cut to half. There was supposed to be a sequel, which was obviously never finished.

T'was also mentioned in a Finnish tabloid, in the funny little news section. Nice going and I'm not being sarcastic.

First of all, atmosphere was as great as I've come to expect from Yahtzee's games. Had I played in the middle of a night (and had it been a darker time of the year), I would've probably left lights on when going to bed.
I loved the way Yahtzee (possibly) played with my mind with those little sequences that could've been bugs, intended spookiness or just me losing my mind. Like when I entered the real world bar for the first time and every click resulted with "it hurts".

Then the complaints. I don't think the parser really added anything to the game. I remember only two puzzles that couldn't have been done with mouse control just as well. (Getting the chisel from the sailor and the final puzzle.) Besides, only time I got really stuck was because I wasn't using the correct phrase.
Other problem was the porcelain dummy puzzle, which was mostly just running around, trying to guess where the body parts had materialized. (Though Abed's disappearance was a pretty clever trick.) Those kind of scavenger's hunts may fit in a survival horror game, but not in a traditional adventure game.
Last but not least is the amount of puzzles. There just weren't enough of them and they were a bit too obvious since the needed objects just kind of appeared there whenever you needed them.

But all in all, even though TN isn't Yahtzee's best game, it's still a great amateur adventure.

...you're on the right track. Best to try some rephrasing (don't remember the exact command I used).

Thankies. Got through the rest of the game without too much trouble.

I can't even get through the painting scene. Am I supposed to push the painting through the gap, if so, how?

I think the last episode felt a bit rushed and unfinished at parts. End was totally Yahtzee though, anticlimatic but still good.

As for the optional ending... ::)

Version 1.01

As you can see, I added some light shadows under the table and chairs, not behind the replicator since there's light coming through the window. Light shadows, because as Redwall said, the characters don't have shadows and I don't want to make it look like they're hovering over the backround.
I also change the colour of the noticeboard a bit. It's not a chalkboard though I admit it looks like one. That's a magic marker and those pins are actually magnets. :P
Also added another bevel. Didn't manage to make the upper one any rounder without ending up with something horribly disformed.

As for the door. I hope this doesn't sound like a bad excuse, but since this is a scifi game not all things are constructed in human-size.

...with a futuristic twist, or something. In other words, I finally have something that's ready enough to be C&C'd.

If it was any site other than SA that's getting bleeped, I'd probably feel remorse. But now, I can only smile.

Quote from: Afflict on Tue 15/11/2005 18:14:59The problem is how do I record everything I do on my pc without a video camera?

Set your camera (or friend with a camera) to snap pictures every five(?) minutes.

Quote from: Afflict on Mon 14/11/2005 21:26:13No impressive would be if he spent 24 hours creating an adventure! Then he might be a hero.

But wouldn't a game that's been made in just 24 hours be pretty shabby?

:P
