So...you're just you're run-of-the-mill sociopath then. Okay. ;)

Lol.

Me: So, what kind of music do you like?
Fluke: I ate her liver with fava beans and a nice chianti. Fffffff.

How do poor kids even afford these expensive systems?

It's called 'Parents wrapped around your little finger' syndrome.

I'm pretty much with most of the people here - do your own Discworld game, don't just remake Discworld Noir.

Ah, the deluxe version of this excellent game. Superb stuff! Gotta say, I really enjoy the Ben Jordan mysteries...

I can't imagine how long this must have taken him to do. It's a staggeringly well told story, and being a determined storyteller I've got to say he told his story in a brilliant fashion. If I have any problems with it, its the prevalence of 'search every room for a useful object' puzzles rather than logical thinking. Otherwise, the game is brilliantly and effectively creepy and often very disturbing - I think he has hit the artwork and backgrounds well on the head.

The Numa Numa phenomenon...

It is surely only a matter of time until the Spade of Eternity strikes down the Hamster of Destiny on this particular net phenomenon.

Oh, I always wonder what I am.

My parents call me deeply odd.

I love Nightwish, and I am rarely called a goth. I am referred to as rather sadistic and disturbing though.

It is tragic that the corporate conglomerate that is EA pumps out all those licensed racing games and suchlike...it's such a shame adventure games don't have the same monopoly they used to. Only 'Dreamfall' seems to be the most recent 'proper' adventure.

If someone like Paul Kidby made the character design this game would have been 200% better. I like the game, but it doesn't feel really discworldish.

I think if he had, we'd get more detail - but since the game was resolutely 3D, it's uncertain how well his art style would have translated.

Does everyone remember when Monkey Island when IF for a while?

Use manual of style on shredder
Pick up Stylish Confetti
Use stylish confetti on Heavily Armed Clown
>WHEEE!!!!

Before this reaches a head, let's not forget graphic aventures are good too. IF adventures are still excellent though. I just wanted to point that out. The natural advantages of a graphic adventures are that it allows for a more cinematic style - problem is, this style isn't always what people want to see...so here we have the endlessly circular debate.

PICS OR STFU

She doesn't let me take photos during the act. For some reason it puts her off.

I don't understand how anyone can like the voice acting.... its awful well the male characters anyway. The way the game is made just annoys and frustrates me.

Oh come on - Rob Brydon as the P.I. Brilliant stuff. I very much enjoyed the voice-acting.

I got laid. Score.

MANY MANY TIMES.

Both of them have their pros and cons, and even though I was brought up on Grahpics adventures (sweet Monkey Island) I have enjoyed IF games also. Even if I do get lost all the time.

I don't think it needs a remake. I loved the voice-acting, and I thought the system of investigation was very good. Also, over too quickly? Which version were you playing?

I just want to understand what this guy is being berated for in this thread - Is it because he can't script, code or draw? Or is it simply because he literally only has an idea and naff all else to show for it?

Seems like a strange post maybe...but I just wanted to know, really.

Well, buy a sheet of graph paper and draw a map! In nearly all situations in most games the orientation of rooms makes a lot of reasonable sense (excluding the occasional maze, of course, but you're supposed to get lost in those).

Ah yes. Silly me :p *makes note* Sorry! It's just the more obscure city maps that confuse the hell out of me - the city of Anchorhead is pretty vast.

Probably what's written on the diploma in the office you start in in 5 Days a Stranger. Mainly because it says the owner of the house got his law qualifications at the University of Warwick...since I go there, I think it's quite funny ;)
