For good non-AGS games I recommend Gabriel Knight II - it's not as explicit, but it builds up beautifully.

I'd also recommend Shadow of the Comet (if you can find it) or the Hound of Shadow (a text game), but I wouldn't consider Prisoner of Ice - Lovecraft is not done well in that one.

The only issue I have with text adventures is that it's rather easy to get lost, for someone like me with a rather poor sense of direction :D

So it's kind of my problem really, but still - I love that game Anchorhead, but I get lost so bloody easily....:(

I am looking to recruit a team to create a horror mystery game, whose story I have conceived already:

Title: Hallow's End

'Michael Sandon, griefstricken after the death of his wife and daughter in a car crash, is told to take a break. He hopes a short holiday in the town of Hallow's End will ease his pain and his constant insomnia. Yet, Hallow's End hides a disturbing secret. As Mike uncovers the horrifying truth of Hallow's End, he finds himself pursued by the Laughing Boy, a murderous and twisted creature intent on finding him and exacting eternal agony and pain on his body and soul. Mike meets Katherine Keider, also newly arrived, similarly traumatised by the suicide of her husband several months ago but pregnant with a child...of whom the father is unknown. They soon find themselves lost in a world of torment, a world where your nightmares become reality, where your soul is tortured beyond pain and where the innocent are punished forever.

Everyone goes to Hallow's End eventually.'

What I am doing:

*Concept
*Story Design
*Dialogue

I am looking for:

*SFX designer

Positions filled:

*Music Composer: eyeCoof
*Scripter: Akumayo
*Background Artists/Character Designer/ Animators: Lisa & Len Haasbroek, Candles

The game is to be done in a Lucasarts-Golden Age style, point and click.

If anyone's interested - or feels they can assist in ANY other capacity - please email me on markodell30@hotmail.com - This is a horror project I am EXTREMELY keen to launch. I am now in need of some very important staff members I want to see this through to completion, and then hopefully work on some more games.

I loved Shenmue, a game that had severe faults (the voice actor for that woman who wanted to be a teacher sticks out in my mind), but really drew you into its world. Shenmue 3 with 1 and 2 included on the PC, that would be good...

I personally had issue with Tom.

"HEEEEEEEY RYOOOOOO!!! AH'LL GET YOOU SOME KUFFEEE OKAAAAAAAAAAYY??"

My favourite game...

System Shock 2 or Deus Ex. Probably Deus Ex. Amazing characters and brilliant storytelling all round.

Hi guys, I'm Mark  ;D

I'm an adventure game nut, whose hobbies are basically writing TV scripts (trying to pitch one to someone at the BBC, communication is very slow going though :() and stories and stuff - so talk to me, I'm generally easy going and fun :)

Oh yeah, I also wrote (with a friend) a spoof of Star Wars Episode II - very good fun:

"Kiss me Padme"
"Mmm"
"(hearing something) What's that?"
"Well, if I was being cynical, I'd say it was the sound of a million sphincters tightening simultaneously"

Anyway, interests include games, computers, writing, watching films and listening to awesome music (Nightwish, c'mon! Also Johnny Cash)

I AM ALSO FROM YE MERRY ENGLANDE.

I get eternally frustrated by the way the ESA covers games that are neither going to get sequels or games that are impossible to find anyway.

Example, Laura Bow 2 and Little Big Adventure. Unless we ever get a third LBA (never gonna happen) or a third Laura Bow (even less likely) we have to twiddle our thumbs, unless we want to take a less legal route. I tend to find Sierra Online are the worst people for the legal side of things.

QuotePlease God, J. Jensen and Vivendi, let there be GK4.

Yeah, I hope God listen to you.

Well, my greatest Adventure Game of all Time will be:

1. - Phantasmagoria I

Phantasmagoria greatest adventure of all time? Hmmm....wouldn't agree on that one. Pretty much agree with everything else though ;)

My top 5?

1. Monkey Island I
2. Monkey Island II: LeChuck's Revenge
3. Gabriel Knight II
4. Sam and Max Hit the Road
5. Simon the Sorceror 2

I'm putting out a special mention to Yahtzee's Trilby Trilogy (phnaar) because they're just amazingly well done - Trilby's Notes especially had moments that genuinely scared me...

I am a script/story writer, I have written two amateur plays for performance at my University (One being an adaptation of horror-story The Thing on the Doorstep by H.P Lovecraft) and the other is a sex comedy of my own devising - the horror play was well received, first readings of my comedy provoked a positive reaction.

I offer my services to anyone who wants me to assist them with story/dialogue/ideas and that sort of thing :) I'll happily send you samples of the plays/scripts I write if you want convincing I'm not an illiterate fool who's trying to bluff his way into a development team!

Email me (markodell30@hotmail.com) or PM me if you're interested :)

EDIT: I am also available to do voice acting, since I have done some acting and public speaking - and I am commended on my abilities at both - so if you have a charismatic lead character who needs vocals, don't hesitate to ask!
