Hi there! I started with working on my long detective game, wich im making with flash, and I was wondering what you think of this background. It's from one of the first scenes where you investigate the murder on the golfyard. Plz give me advice on how to make it look better, or does it look ok?
I need to know this, because I first need to get my style ok, before I'm continuing creating more scenes and backgrounds

I think you came up with a pretty good idea, though it needs lots of managing, and also requires lots of time, wich I don't have, but I can't ofcourse look at your life. Well.. to tell you my goal at the moment is to first release a couple of free games, and also hopefully a pretty good free game, and after that, when I expierenced enough and maybee found someone either on ags, or in my own neighbourhood that wants to join me with a project, I consider selling the game by internet. But at the time I'm actually selling a game, then we'll be at least a year later! ;)

Can't you just use scaling in the room, and set it for when the character is too big, under 100% and when its too small above 100%.

Well, my projects aren't also as they should be here is a list of the games (its abit too long list i guess) I'm working on, and their state

Sam&Moos and the treisure of grandpa - 65% - lack of inspiration, but I hope to finish it this month :)

Undeniable - Still at the beginnning. I just decided to not make any commercial game, but to make it freeware, because paying for games sucks, so that means the game doesnt have to be THAT long, though I'm still working hard on the plot. A demo should be available within 2 months

Phonebooth - I haven't told you much about it for a long time, though im still working on it, and all that is left, is alot of dialogs, wich needs lots of creativity and TIME!

Puddy Penguin and the Yeti - My newest project for the MAGS of this month, so it will be finished this month! so I will also probably be the first game I'm finishing, and I'm happy with the look of the penguin! ;)

Trapped in the past - I just finished the story and plot of the game, and also some concept art of the maincharacter, though I'm still very much thinking about wich style im going to use for this game. This game will take lots of time to make, and will be pretty long, and in the style of Jack Orlando.

As you can see... IM BUSY!! ;D

Im writing this message at my dad's 486, and this is really slow. Why I must write this at his pc, is because I got on my screen that i need a very long code for winxp prof. to register or something... I need some serial code, can someone give it plz to me! Otherwise i just lost all my work, and wurst, all animations and concept art! GRR PLZ PLZ help me out!!

I am making a game in the Jack Orlando style, and I was wondering, if it is possible and how to make, a window popup in the top of the screen while in a conversation? There should popup a talking animation of both the characters, wich will animate while speaking. Does anyone already made a code for this, or could they make an example for me? here is a screenshot out of the game Jack Orlando wich shows the conversation popups I mean.

First of all, I finished your game! WOOOT ;)
Second I want to tell you that you should really speed up the animations and walking speed!! This really sucked! It dured 2 minutes that the robot came and left! Ohw... and third! You do not have to PM me about your game, and who knows you pm also, and don't post it in every thread that you finished it, we will find it out anyway! ;) About your game furthermore. I loved the puzzles, but that intro was really weird! It dured also too long! So if you speed it all up a bit I'll give you 8/10 ;D

Wow!! Thanks goldmund!!! I just finished reading it all, and after reading I can sure say, that this will help me alot making better games!!
I just have a  few additions to it.

dialogs and atmosphere
It's very important that you adjust your dialogs, comments to the current atmosphere. Say that you are for example in a haunted house in a dark room, where every moment something can happen, then don't start making jokes like "Oh crap why didn't I bring my light saber?" or "This game would be alot easier if you'd adjusted your monitor brightness!". Ofcourse that might be funny, but at such a moment where you want to create a dark, suspence, fearing atmosphere, you must also set your dialogs to this atmosphere! like this "Anyone there? Can someone here me" or "I think I heard some footsteps behind me!". In my opinion you can make even a better atmosphere, in textadventures, because the player must then imagine the whole area himself. I created this text-adventure Albino Virus, wich gets at a certain moment in a forest pretty terryfying. I just putted the text "Suddenly everything around you is quiet, and fear is filling you, in middle of the dark forest."

Well that was my addition! Again... thanks alot goldmund! ;D

hmm.. i just played fry 1 ... and there are lots of bugs in it! Lets hope fry2 will be lot better!

Absolutely Cool!! I love your drawingstyle, and the dialog-closeups. I might use that style myself one day. A question about that style. Is it a GUI with pictures and that you change the pictures everytime a dialog comes, or is it a complete level for each conversation?

I'm not the biggest fan of horror, actually I really hate the genre, (gives me the creeps, or is that normal??) but when I only see these screenshots and read how much effort you put in this, then I can't block myself from looking forward to the gamerelease! ;)
