Wow! This is such an amazing technique!! I'm going to practice this, in photoshop, though I'm considered to the real pshoppers, a newbie... but im really going to try, and whip up something, that looks fine to me.

You could take the underground train, or the ferry to The Netherlands, and from there take thev bus to south-france. Search for a camping on the atlantic ocean, and you've done some cheap business. I've been there... and it was fantastic, but make sure, you take some friends with you, cause no vacation is fun alone! ;D

Thank you, hillbilly! It took me some time to make that character, because im really bad at pixel art... so im not going to change his legs or anything.. but I will lengthen the overall, just as you did, so you can see his breast.

I'm doing my best right now in animating the walking animation... and next week im going to write the dialogs and the puzzles (wich are already planned out ofcourse), and I hope to be finished before 28th of this month ;D

I casted my votes too, but one question... why is Flashbax in the P3n1s awards??? Flashbax was a good game! : ??? :-\

hmm... im using 1024x768, wich is the maximum my 6 year old 14inch monitor can handle, and im happy with it. 800x600 is good too, but in some cases you need to scroll too much, or large pictures to show.

Anyway.. i'd like to have a higher res, sometimes because i have mostly more than 15 programs open, and need sometimes more space. I'm considering buying a 17inch monitor.

About the 320x200 screenshots.. they aren't too small, because avatars are 60x60 or 80x80 whatevahhh... and they aren't too small either... so just put your nose to the screen, grab some cookies with tasty chocolate on them, and watch the neat pictures!!!

Thank you Migs. The second background is on purpose abit empty, because otherwise it would be abit too busy... and then both backgrounds had a three at the left on the foreground.

I updated the thread bytheway, and added the character sprite :)

I also have a wacom, but I personally like better to draw on paper and then scan it in. With a drawing tablet you have lesser grip, and i like to have some grip to the pencil

-->UPDATE 16/01/04<--
I just drawed+animated the maincharacter of the game, and it seems like it only fits the backgrounds at the resolution 640x400, so I've changed the gamesize to 640x400.
I also added a picture of the the maincharacter, when he is standing.

I'd like to announce my upcoming game, The Windmill, wich is in highly development.

This game is about the good old times of The Netherlands "Holland". You play as a farmer man. You will meet in this game the man of the windmill and the owner of the cheese factory. There are some animated backgrounds, and some puzzles, though not too much. They game is only 6 rooms, though I hope it becomes a nice little game for you!

I won't reveal too much of the story though ;)

The Maincharacter :

Here are some backgrounds of the game, I made. They are handdrawn with a fineliner on paper, then scanned and edited/coloured in photoshop.

Speaking of The Longest Journey, what about the crystals puzzle? You had to arrange four crystals in a certain manner, arrange some dials, etc. but everything I tried wouldn't work. I tried all "logcial" possibilities. Too bad too, because TLJ would've been the first ever game I played where I didn't need a walkthrough/cheats/UHS file, but alas I had to cheat for that puzzle.

If you mean the one, in the cave with the strange long seahorses... then yes, i couldnt do that one. It was in Chapter 10 I Think...I haven't checked any walkthrough yet... though it's more than a year ago I played that game. So I'm still stucked there, and haven't finished the game, though I'd love to finish it! ;D *without cheating*

I prefer the old one... it's sooo cute. I would fall in love with him, if I were a girl! But the new one looks, like those stupid kids in highschool, that think they are teh cool, but aren't really ;) if you know what i mean...

Neat backgrounds! Are those made with freehand/flash ? I think you could maybe change those crates abit from eachother, because they seem to be copy pasted, and scaled ;) I really like the cracks in the wall, with the red stones behind it, I only think that the left bookshelf at the second picture is abit off-perspective.

Keep up the good work!  8)

Well, i can only say from this, that you now learned, to always make backups! Or take better care of your pc.... ;) I'm sorry for you, but it seems like you need to start all over, or start a new project.

Great looking pictures, and awesome story, except for the being criminal. When I read the intro story, I got sucked down the rabbit hole with my imagination, and I began to feel sorry for this hard worker. Maybe you can tell us more about the person in your game, like that we get to know him better. GREAT JEEAAAUURRBBB!!!

Amazing! It seems like something with Maya, but correct me if im wrong ;)

I agree with darth, that the textures are very realistic. So did you drew them, made a photo, or was it premade? Bytheway, I think it will be hard to make a game of all loose objects of 3D. You can better make scenes, because then you can scale every object to the size you want, and also reflect light onto the objects.

Nice background, but are you going to use a walking character in this room, or invisible character, because it's not a very handy position from wich you drawed it. i.m.o.

rpgmstr, that site just rocks!! Thanks alot for the link! LINK! Got it? ZELDA!!! I'm going to take that tutorial!
