For the sky, you could add some clouds. Ã, If you do, try to make not only white clouds but also some grey ones. Clouds come in many shapes, but avoid the 'cottonball' clouds. Ã, If you are making shadows on your clouds, try and visualize them as being broken up into basic shapes, like squares or spheres. Ã, I am thinking about doing a tutorial on making clouds, trees, and maybe some other foliage, so maybe i will have a good illustration for you soon. Ã, Another thing that would add interest would be telephone lines in the background. Ã, When you are adding textures to grass or dirt, just keep in mind that regardless of the way the actual strokes go ( for instance grass would be up/down direction ) try to remember that the main dynamic will be from side to side. Ã, If you were looking at it from straight overhead, it wouldn't be, but normal view, it is. Ã, I'll try to make some examples soon.

I really like the floating head, but I noticed there is a bubble that appears outside of the fish bowl.  Just a minor thing, but I figured I'd point it out before it made it's way into your game.

best, imo, is to save originals in formats .bmp, .tga, or .png.  jpg usually results in 'artifacts' which just means imperfections.  however, when you are putting them on the internet, jpg is usually best, due to it's compression.  Also, anything with an indexed color pallete will usually be a pretty small file.  So, indexed .gif's and .bmp's are also good for the internet, and while they may appear a bit grainy, they do not become 'smudgy' like jpg's.

hi, I would definately try using the 'poster edges' filter.  Basically it will give toon edges to your photo.  A way to control the result somewhat is:  go to layers> duplicate layer> run the filter on the duplicate>, then, when you have an area that is too posterized, just use the eraser tool to erase away that bit, and expose the original underneath it.  then merge the layers and save.

they look very good, but imo, they could use more variation.  I would focus mainly on the hair ( more different shapes, maybe one of them could be bald on top? ) and also, the eyebrows.  subtle changes in the eyebrows could make a big difference.

I've done some searching through the forums, and tried various things to get this function to work with no success.Ã,  I have black for alpha, and blue for my map, and allthough I have tried to match the editors blue, I get an error upon import, that the colors are wrong.Ã,  Also, I tried to use the imported map as a template to do a flood fill on, but it just flooded the whole area, and ignored the color fields.Ã,  Any ideas on how I might go about this?Ã,  The reason i want to use an imported map, is, because, with a 3D program, it's quite easy to make one of a complicated object like a tree with lots of branches, or a bush, or grass or that sort of thing, whereas to do it by hand would be seriously time consuming.Ã,  Anyway, if I could get the right colors it would sure be handy.
<edit> I finally got it to work.  I made a shadeless bmp in blender using 3 cubes with 50% red, 50% blue, and 50% green, saved in photoshop at 8 bit, and imported, and it actually imported without error, and i was able to use the fill method after that.

Hi guys, Noob here.Ã,  This is an eight loop robot.Ã,  He is very realistic, and still in the form of 8 image sequences.Ã,  I made him from scratch using Blender.Ã,  I figure he is most useful in his raw form.Ã,  Do enjoy.

Hello, I am a total NOOB to this program, but I like it, and expect to be using it, so I came here to dredge the forums for knowledge.  I have lots of textures and stuff relating to 3D, so I will try to put up a .zip every once in awhile with my latest stuff.  Aside from Blender, I use GIMP alot,....the latest version is pretty impressive, along with a variety of other paint programs, including PIXIA, and the latest version of Project DogWaffle.  I like free and open sourced software, and will use it in most cases, though I do use Photoshop for some things, and I have a couple of others, like a TTF maker, and some common utilities.  I am both 2D and 3D artist, so I will make backgrounds in 3D and strictly 'painted'.  I might even try a couple with traditional media, which is what I used to do, before I became obsessed with computers.  I hope, that while here, I can both get something out of, and also contribute to the community.  If you need sprites or tiles or backgrounds feel free to ask.  Please don't ask me about scripting for the Blender game engine, as I am completely inept at scripting.
