Maybe just agreeing that the main character is reasonably sane this time around? The insanity bit just doesn't work when switching writers.
#102
Yeah I agree with you fred. I think ProgZmax's edit is very good, but I see the teeth as lips for some reason and thus less furious than those few angry teeth in the original. I'd go with the originals in this case.

Kudos to everybody! It certainly is a challenging piece to the reader.  :)
For the next one the two teams idea is good, but maybe we should try this one more time before changing it? Maybe we can do it with a less of confusion this time around?

Like Cartman waiting the Wii: "C'moon.... C'Moooooon"  :D

Google is your friend when trying to find exact info like 2 point perspective:

Example of 2 point perspective

If that's not good then just type "2 point perspective" into google and go link by link.  :)

Here's the one fred mentioned. This was made from the earlier versions with darker outlines.

Granted that I'm just getting into this whole pixeling thing, but I think it looks very good the way it is.

I tried just for practice do a shading on the beard and here's the result if you'll find it useful:

I used 2 extra colors for the shading.

I guess I took it a little bit too personal there. Don't know why. You had some good points there.

That's what I ended up with. I don't really have a hang of the shading yet and I guess it shows.

@layabout: I didn't know I had to be perfect and all knowing in my first pixel drawing. But thanks anyway for your positive feedback.

I thought to start my pixeling and cooked up my own character sprite based on your picture.

EDIT: now that I looked at it again, the arms were kinda funny up in the air, so I did another pose for the gal

Now she looks pretty introverted though...

Okay I got it. I'll start to read/write with my organic hard disk.

EDIT: Damn that was hard. Well it's sent to Antonio now. Our "hero" is truly a complex character, I can tell you that. I honestly don't know if I did good, because it's such a mess, even if you try to make sense of it (I did manage to cook up one possible solution which I followed but tried to leave options still open). At this point it's pretty hard to have a neat ending, but let's see what happens. Maybe lo_res will wing it out of the park.  :D

Thank you very much Ferdinand!  :)

I used Illustrator for the outlines and Photoshop for everything else. I'm not that good of a drawer so I work in higher resolutions and then scale down. This one was about 2500 x 2000. In the end I had 50 layers of different stuff there. I used approx. 5 hours on this as I'm not that speedy of a worker.

Here's a bigger picture so you can see better what's going on.

My first graphic entry.  ;)

EDIT: Dang.. didn't notice the deadline was gone until I posted. Well if it takes me out of the competition, it's okay. It was fun to make it anyways.
EDIT2: Double dang... didn't notice that deadline was extended. Maybe I should go to an eyedoctor.

If it's really torn then I don't even want to participate. This is a project and people shouldn't f**k it up just for personal preferences.

EDIT: This was kinda stupid remark made on a spur of a moment.
#115
Sure, why not. I'd prefer not to be the last if that's ok. Other than that I don't mind.

Just like Emerald, you're putting words in my mouth and not listening to what I'm actually saying. In a wonderful stroke of irony, that makes you judgmental, since because of cognitive laziness you're pigeonholing people based on a hasty first impression, rather than actually trying to comprehend them. In other words, if you think I'm PC by any stretch of the word, you really don't know who I am.

I don't really know you so I can't be saying anything about you, that's true. But if you can say that a person is "nasty" when all you know is that he walked out of a barber once in his life is kinda odd. Don't you agree?

Oh come on, running out from a barber shop just because you notice the barber might be homosexual is a very provocative act.
....
I dunno, I'm just allergic to the claim "you're intolerant because you don't tolerate intolerant people!!" It's just silly. This has nothing to do with political correctness, it's about understanding that everyone deserves to be treated like a freaking human being, regardless of colour or sexual preferences. If you didn't learn this in school, it's your loss. Try to change.

It's funny that this "act" would've been probably more tolerable if the barber would've been a non gay person. "So you just didn't like the guy, okay". I think we have a right to choose as customers where we'll get our haircut, whatever the reason may be, and in this case the guy clearly has issues with openly gay people so why wouldn't he leave?

And I'm with you on that notion that everybody should be treated the same, but you're on pretty thin ice if you start saying that leaving a store because of uncomfort, maybe even fear, is a provocative act. Especially when you don't know the circumstances. I wouldn't want to get a haircut from a crossdresser/transgender in full party gear, because it wouldn't be comfortable. I'd rather go to a "normal" place. I guess I'm being intolerant to crossdressers/transgenders for not wanting them express their sexual preference at the same time when cutting my hair?

Yeah and I know this person, he's the best, kindest, most lovable creature God ever conceived, and he can't be in the same room as women, coloured people, gypsies, homosexuals, dwarves or Irishmen. He actually starts throwing stones at them. But he can't help it, and can we blame him? I mean, we have to be tolerant towards his abnormality.

I said "nastiest people I know". I'm happy to inform you that I don't know any Hitler-cum-Stalin people.

I think walking away and throwing stones are two different things. And if you can say that a person is "nasty" for not being able to cope with certain types of people then I think you're pretty judgemental yourself. We don't all have to sing cumbayaa hand in hand to get along. Let people be people and chill with the P.C. stuff.

Very nicely reviewed thomasregin and spot on too!

Nice entries everyone and congrats to ProgzMax!  :)

You should definitely try out some more robust programs aswell if you start to get involved with making music. Trackers are fine but they are limited in functionality. Also they can be more confusing to the first timer than simple sequencers. Try the trial version of FL Studio. It's one of the easiest sequencers there is.

I think it's mandatory to introduce the heroes with the "action shot - laugh shot - pause - name" -technique. This technique was wildly spread among the 80's tv-productions.

If you want my theme music to go along with those introductions you can get it: Here

Wait for the little play button to appear and click it for a magical journey to the 80's.   ;)
