I signed up months ago, but I haven't heard from them yet.

Thank you for the nomination! I hope it works ^_^

I've been curious about Wave since the first video was released. If anyone's got some invitations left, I'd love to get one ^_^ At Gmail I'm also Ptraci.

Everyone's saying it's so great for project management and collaborative work that I'd love to test it with some of the translation projects I have going at the moment.

I don't like the system they've been using to give invitations in exchange for ReTweets based on the number of times people posted the same thing on Twitter. It generates a lot of noise.

Here's a list of countries where Toys R Us stores can be found :)

- Discworld  [PC, Mac, Playstation, Saturn]

- Discwold 2 [PC (Dos/Win), Playstation, Saturn]

- Discword Noir [PC, Playstation]

I never played any of the last two, but the first one was fun and helped me identify the novels on the shelves when they were finally (and badly) translated to Spanish.

So unPC and so true.

This thread reminds me of an episode of The Fresh Prince of Bel Air in which uncle Phil is introduced to a rich white man who tells him: 'You can call me whitey', to which he replies in horror 'Oh no, I can't'. In the end the man explains that everyone calls him 'whitey' because of his white hair and goes away without even noticing the Banks's family reaction to the word. Context is everything!

Assuming people are going to be offended every time we say something isn't going to help as they will be offended anyway if they wanted to in the first place :S

Now I'll go to bed singing: Everyone's a little bit racist...

He's like a mexican Sean Connery now  ;D

Nice edit, lo_res_man, the forehead looks more natural now. I think he should't be cross eyed, as it gives him a distant look.

That's why I said I might have changed it too much. I widened the face a bit, to see if that could help with the forehead problem, but obviously it didn't keep the original feeling. He sure looks grumpy, but... mexican? XD

The doctor is totally recognizable, you did a great job ^_^

I tried to do a quick paintover, but I don't know if I changed too much of it:

I liked frankenberger's longer pupils so I've tried to keep them.

No, I don't want the universe to implode XDD Thank you for your help ^_^

The problem is that I don't want the platform to be seen from above, with head+shoulders characters standing on it, and I don't know if normal standing characters would fit at all on a flat platform. I don't know how to solve this :S

Don't worry about the appearance of the room, by the moment it is more or less like a house in construction, flat surfaces with tings chalked on it to show where furniture (and in this case doors) would be :P

The room is that tall on purpose, just for the dream. When the character gets up, things go back to normality :)

Critics' Lounge / Dream sequence bg outline
Sun 12/02/2006 08:32:18
Hello everyone.

It's been a while since I last visited this forums and got some basic notions on how to start a game using AGS (maybe a year or so) and now, when I've almost forgotten anything I could have learnt back then, I'd like to get some practice working on a real project.

I wrote a short dream/awakening sequence to work with, but I'm having some troubles with bg design.

In this sequence, the main character walks on a floating platform that appears to be above his bedroom, and he can see himself if he looks down.

So I tried to make an outline of both things, but they don't look right together. Here's the result:

What do you think?

I do not use my contacts list, in fact i've never done so...

But yes, the new hotmail is no good, just crap.

You could try one of those anaesthetic products used before skin treatments or wax. As SSH said a doctor or a pharmacist would give you better advice, but that's the only quick solution i can think of to get some sleep without itching.

I'm also an insomniac, but I try to enjoy it whenever it's possible, like when it's really late in the night and I can see old cinema on tv  :-\

General Discussion / Re:Down With Skirts!

There were no uniforms at my school, but short trousers (even knee long ones) were banned because some old fool found them unappropriate. Girls could wear skirts as short as they wanted...

Remember Beneath a Steel Sky? Part of the puzzles were on a virtual system called "Linc". Using differrent ID Cards you had different tools and docs. If you were caught or did something wrong, the system disconnected you.

Yeah, vaguely important and so vaguely covered that they do not give enough information to know about specific people that had an important role in many of those events. As juncmodule said most of this knowledge is self taught.

Nothing about him in my school textbooks. I haven't checked it because I'm quite sure there's no mention of that person there...

It was not part of our program when I went to school, but it's changed. I have no information on new contents, though.

Farlander, maybe it'd have worked better if you'd asked them not to write long posts...

¡Psicología inversa!

Yeah, that could be because the original character name was Atreyu.

What about changing the spelling into something like Ghardaph or something like that?
